I hear the ground shaking intensely. We are ready to break their formation and hope that we could at least lessen their numbers. Pie and I are waiting from both sides of the road.
"Get ready," I whispered them.
They're getting near and I don't think what I'm feeling right now is fear. Maybe I'm excited to see if I can really do something against that kind of army. It's time...
"Go!" I signaled the start of the ambush!
"SHIELD BREAK!" Pie appeared from the other side of the road and pushed right through, breaking their formation.
"SPIKY SHIELD!" He's preparing to launch his special technique!
"SWOOOOOSH SWOOOOSH!" Spears came out of his shield piercing right through their armors from close combat! It works like a charm at close range! They didn't die though! They're tough!
"Huff! A human! Kill him!" Their numbers are increasing! The more we stop them from advancing, the more of them appear! This is bad!
*CLANG CLANG* He's surrounded completely! We need to do something he will be sliced to death by the centaurs!
*BOOK THROW* Uri threw her book towards Pie! You're supposed to hit the enemy Uri!
"Huff! What are these?!" Undead skeletons soared from the ground and pierced the centaurs from below! A surprise attack and direct hit! They started to panic. It's my turn now! If I remember it correctly, this is how Leion moves...
"DAGGER DANCE!" I swiftly move sideways to create clones of myself! It works! I ran around the area and created clones of myself around the battlefield! I created four at max.
"Huff! There are more of them! Attack!" Don't worry, you're not my target.
"BAAAAAM BABABAAAAM!" I charged at the coming centaurs from behind destroying their advance! They got hit by my mass attack and they lost their balance and made a stampede! Some of them rolled over and also got stepped on by other centaurs. Those feet really are hard as steel breaking every bone they stepped on!
Our ambush was so effective that we even caught them off guard.
"Huff! Ignore them and push through!" One of them is ordering the others. My clones disappeared after the attack and it made me lose a lot of mana. We have to stop their advancement!
"VIOLENT PUSH!" Those who are trying to push through got knocked back by Uri's Space Wall! We can't see her spell and those centaurs were pushed back. She's doing her best to stop them from passing.
Those undead skeletons were helpful and Pie is holding his ground with his trusted shield and polearm. I, on the other hand, am doing my best to kill as many as I can. Without Chelly, we don't have much firepower.
We killed a bunch of them but I feel like their numbers aren't decreasing at all. The fight continued with them trying to defend from our attacks. The centaurs swung and tried to attack us with their spears but because of the pile of corpses of other centaurs, they are having a hard time moving not to mention they aren't running as a group in a line because of the pathway. It is just too narrow for them to move in a group because of the trees around the area unlike below the Rocky Mountains which is an open area.
We might be having the upper hand for now but their numbers will be a very big deal for us later. With us in their sight, they will be having a hard time looking for Uri who's saving us from the back with her healing and space spells. We have to maintain our ground or we might lose.
"Ugh! Damn it!" Pie's getting tired and it seems that he also is running out of mana.
He, throwing spears all over the place, might have really used a lot of mana. Even Uri is also catching her breath. If this continues, they can easily defeat us. Retreating is a good idea but some of us might be having trouble running away, like Pie with his heavy armor. We can't leave him behind.
"What should we do? Our attacks aren't as effective as earlier." Uri worriedly asked. I can tell that she's running out of mana to maintain her undead skeletons.
She's right. The armored centaurs adapted with our attack combination and managed to create a way to defend from our attacks. They raised their shields while trying to stab us making their attacks defensive and offensive at the same time. It all depends on me and Pie to do something about their defense.
"AHHHH!" Pie got hit pretty badly!
"Pie, it's time to retreat. We can't win against their numbers." I ordered.
"Sure Leader! Just wait for a moment! I'm receiving heavy blows quite bad." He is backing away holding his shield up while receiving blows from several attacks from the armored centaurs. Not to mention it still has dents and holes from Maisie's attacks from the previous encounter with her.
They should be arriving here by now. Why are they taking so long? We need back up now!
"Leader, I can't cast any more spells. I'm out of mana. I have to rest or I'll pass out soon." Uri too. This is not going great. We have to divert the armored centaur's attention away from Pie or he will get killed from trying to escape!
"Try to recharge your mana a bit. Pie hasn't escaped with me yet. You have to use a powerful attack to divert their attention. Can you do that?" I asked. It's for Pie's sake. We can't let him die.
"Sure Leader. I need around 30 seconds. Can you keep them busy for a while?" She asked.
"That's a bit long. I will try to do something to buy some time." I'm running out of ideas on how to defend or to save Pie. Dodging the centaurs attacks is too much of a problem already for me.
"Ugh! Damn it!" Pie cried in pain. His shield's durability is almost at its limit. It will break soon!
"DAGGER DANCE!" I tried to copy Leion's moon dance once again but I only managed to create two copies.
"SWOOOOSH!" Every one of me or us threw daggers at our enemies' faces. It didn't pierce their helmets but they get the idea that I'm provoking them.
We jumped at the same time going to the other side trying to get their attention away from Pie.
"LIGHT SWORD!" The three of us created a sword made of light to attack!
"How about this!" I managed to kill a couple of them by beheading them because their necks are vulnerable to elemental attacks and they stopped raising their shields after Uri stopped using her space spells.
What the?! They still haven't stopped hitting Pie! Damn it!
"What?!" As I looked at my current situation, it seems they managed to surround me with their shields making it like I was trapped. They readied their weapon to end my life while they are trying to destroy Pie.
"Damn it!" Oh, I remembered something!
"Leader! It's ready! Just tell me if it's safe to fire!" Uri worriedly said!
"Fire now!" I ordered fiercely!
"Fire now?! But you are still in the middle of the monsters? If I use my spell you might also get killed!" She asked with doubt in her mind.
"Just do it!" I said with an absolute order. This is do or die!
"ABSOLUTE FLAT ZONE!" She used a powerful spell! I felt like something big is coming from above! I just don't see it! Her move is so offensive!

I used Moon Dive of Leion to Pie appearing behind him before the spell happened but that move stings a lot. Teleport spells can really hurt a people. Some part of my armor also got burnt which thankfully not my inner clothes. The monsters, which were attacking Pie, also got killed by the powerful spells.
I helped him escape.
We somehow managed to escape them but they still continued marching towards the path that leads to our guild hall. If I will count how many we killed, it will be more than thirty of them, probably. Not enough to fully stop them.
Suddenly, I heard a loud noise coming towards us. It's more intense than the other armored centaurs. It's like it's somewhat heavier or more powerful. As the sound getting closer and closer, I started to panic a bit. Pie hasn't recovered yet and the others are far from here to help us out. If the enemies find us, I don't think we can survive.
"Here take this, Pie." I pulled out a potion from my belt pockets. The potion was given to me by Petula. It was like a small vial but the effects really are a wonder. It may not fully heal you but it still can do some healing in just a small bottle, unlike those giant potions that I hate because they don't taste that good. This one taste better.
"No Leader, I think you also need it. I saw you having problems too earlier. I'm sorry, I wasn't strong enough." I'm really stubborn and I will make you drink it if I have to!
"I said take it, here open your mouth." I make it like I'm feeding a child.
"Ok ok..." He took the vial and I think he's embarrassed. He's really a kid, he must have hated what I did but of course, I did what I have to do because those giant footsteps... are already here.
"I FOUND YOU LITTLE PESTS! YOU WILL FEEL THE WRATH OF THE CENTAUR KING!" What the hell is that?! A Giant centaur showed up with a giant axe, ready to pummel us to death!
