"We'll do something about Zia later but the real problem is how do we reach the castle? We can't just fly up there because there are a lot of people below. Not to mention there are a lot of watchtowers built to detect any movements outside the castle. Any plans guys?" I asked the leaders.
"We can disguise ourselves as one of them. We just have to use fancy equipment like the others. The only problem is our faces. Well, they are in desperate time so a lot of the players who go there are soldiers from every guild and there are a lot of adventurers too. It's easy for them to recognize us because of the recent tournament and using hoods would just attract people. What do you think?" Elou explained. I think he got a point.
"If we are discovered then it will be a problem. Scy only is banished from the cities and he's free to do what he wants but still, I'm pretty sure they won't be happy to see him going there. I think I'll ask Petula if she can help us." Akko suggested.
"Sure, just don't let them know what we're up to. I can't afford to bring any of them."
We waited for a bit and Akko brought something like a potion. It doesn't look like it would taste good from the looks of it.
"So what is that?"
"Petula said that this will guaranty a change of look. I'm not sure but she giggled while explaining what this potion is for. Anyone want to try it out?" As long as it can help us.
"I'll try it out. There's no harm in trying, they say." I opened up the potion and drank one of it and waited for a bit.
"I can't feel anything. Did something changed?" I asked and for some reason, Elou started to laugh...
"Hey what's wrong? Hmmmm?" I felt something irritating crawl to my eyes... my hair grew longer!
"What the?!" My chest started to get bigger and I felt like I lost something precious between my legs! Where the heck are my dragon balls?!
"Did I just become a girl? This isn't really new to me but the transformation of a monster soul is instant... this one was a slow effect that I felt every single change... Jeez." I sure do hate this kind of stuff.
"It's alright Scy, you look really cute. If you're really a girl, I would have jumped at you like a hungry tiger. Haha!" Elou is enjoying this... and for some reason, both the girls won't look at me...
"So how about you guys?" I asked...
"Nope... I would never take something like that. Haha." Elou, you jerk... and both the girls just sway their heads and the rest is self-explanatory...
"So how about your disguise?" I asked.
"Well, I think it's better if you go investigate alone because it's safer and faster. Lili here can't move as fast as we can and Akko can't use her fire booster inside the castle because it would create a lot of sounds making her useless when trying to explore. On my part, I can just watch you here and if for some reason you need my help, I'll get there as fast as I can. What do you think?" Elou... You guys are just lazy...
"Well, I think your idea isn't that bad. I hope this work well or I just embarrassed myself. Ok then. I'll move out and get back as fast as I can." I said while preparing to use my fire booster.
"Be careful out there! See you later!" Akko said.
*BAAAAAAAM!* So with one burst, I flew up in the sky.
-West Forest-
*BAAAAAAAAM!* I landed pretty badly at the end of the forest near the Icy Fields.
As I look closely, there are a lot of players around the Icy Fields. This is an insane amount of army but they don't have enough things to warm them up against the cold. Exposing yourself to cold too much will have some bad effects like stamina and energy consumption will be faster making you hard to move fast, not only that, cold resistance will be lower receiving more ice magic damage. Camping here is a bad idea and leaving Vanguard's stronghold exposed to attacks is even worse. There's one more good idea but the cost is great. It is to leave the Vanguard's Stronghold and stay at the grasslands. Icy Plains is no way in hell a good place to fight a World Boss and Grasslands would give them a higher chance of winning due to it being open area and terrain won't be a problem anymore. Still... I don't think they will leave a stronghold.
I walked straight going to the camps and no one stopped me, as if most of the people there don't know each other. Of course, there are like hundreds of thousands of people here. Thanks to that, I don't have any trouble blending in. My problem now is how to reach the way to the Icy Mountain.
I did my best walking deeper the crowd and damn, there is no formation or unity in this place. Most of them are separated from guild to guilds making the camp less effective. This is worse than I expected. They got the number but they don't have cooperation. It seems like the leaders' attitude against the other leaders affects their trust against the other guilds. Guild Leaders must have a plan on how to use their guild members best. Warriors, assassins, archers and even magicians are blending together... if the invasion starts, the first thing that would happen is they will panic and mess things up. Well someone needs to do something about this. I can't blame them... no one here knows how war works. (Shiv as a general in real life wasn't there.)
I continued walking trying not to attract any attention. As I am getting near the end of the Icy Fields, I found the Guild Leaders. They have their own little meeting place and they are just waiting and not even talking to each other... this is really bad.
Well, who cares about what they do. If Aurora is here, they would really get a power nag.
*CLANG* A sound of two swords hitting each other caught my attention. It's in front of me!
"You can't go any farther. It's dangerous out there. We advise you to stay put and wait for the orders of the Guild Leaders." One of the guys blocking my way with sword said. I think he's one of the guards of Order of Light guild for having a fancy armor. Hmmmm? Next to the guards are Zia's group and she's even with Celeste and my little sis...
"It's alright. I'll just wait here. Thanks." Having guards around the Icy Mountain is understandable. They can't just let people go to the castle by themselves. So what's my next plan?
Think Aries, what should I do... Should I start a diversion? But it needs to be a large kind of diversion so even the guards here will have to leave the spot.
I saw one of the watch towers nearby they just built and I think there is no one inside. It's a good place to start.
"Kyut, I need your help right now. I need to make a lightning that looks like it is natural. Can you do something like that?" I asked Kyut.
"Before those elves caught me, I made the sky rain with lightning. I think a simple lightning is not that hard to do." Sure the elves can fight but defeating someone like Kyut... something tells me they're not really trying to fight back against humans.
"Ok then, show me what you've got," Getting ready for a large-scale diversion.
*BZZZZZT* I heard a sound of thunder out of nowhere and it hit the watchtower I was talking about... but...
"Is that it? That didn't even scratch the watch tower..." The watch tower that was hit just caught a small fire and was put out by the snow...
"Oh, that was just a warm up. I would be glad if you can share some of your mana of course." Why not just ask first before doing something...
"Ok then. Make it crumble." I said and gave her some of my mana.
*BZZZZZZZT! BAAAAAAAAAAM!* Now that's what I'm talking about! The watchtower was hit by an enormous amount of lightning and shattered to pieces. The guards that are blocking the way also went there to check what happened. It fell to the ground but I don't have the time to check what else happened because I have to rush out of their sight so I can reach the Icy Mountain unnoticed.
"That's a good job Kyut. Now our job will start now." I said praising her.
"I know I'm sexy." I didn't say that though...
I went too far and even circled through the mountain but I can't find any way to climb the castle. I can even barely stand straight because of the wind pressure. Using fire boosters also would just alarm people below so I have to move silently.
As I am really doing my best trying to look for an entrance, I found a cave, a not really suspicious cave...
Wait a sec, I found two guys moving towards the entrance of the cave. Someone got here first and I know who they are. It's Shiv and I think one of his officers. I looked around trying to look for some of them but I can't sense anyone. It's just them. After that, they finally entered the cave.
Time to go in, I silently move towards the entrance. It's really cold out here. The entrance of the cave blew even colder wind, feeling like I'm going to freeze to death.
*SWOOOOOOOSH!* What the?! A knife almost hit my head! I evaded it after hearing a slight sound. That's really a good way to greet someone.
