That escalated too quickly. The problem is where in the world is the World Boss? Is he already scared after all that happened to his army? I'm pretty sure he should have helped his allies a while back. The Thirteen Gods are resting now while the others are chasing the monsters that are currently fleeing from battle. Archers and Spellcasters didn't participate that much because their help wasn't really that needed but they still helped us with cleaning up the remaining monsters. It wasn't really the exciting war I expected because I think it's just a slaughter. We lost a lot of good people but it's worth it with the result.
"Hey guys, I think our job here is done," I said after pulling my dagger from one of the fallen Orcs I've just killed a while ago. Orcs are hard to fight because most of the time, we are outnumbered while adventuring or exploring some areas but not this time, not with the Alliance's number.
"Yeah, it's pretty tiring waving this giant hammer of mine," Chelly replied. Her massive hammer explodes while she smashes enemies around.
"We're done here as well. The idea of a sudden invasion like this should have meant something. A World Boss is not dumb enough to just send his men here just to die without a reason. There must be some kind of a hidden agenda here." Pie, who's really observant, is also riddled by this kind of invasion. They said that the smart and knowledgeable man is the one who asks and doubts too much. Though, I really doubt too much about that.
Uri really helped us a lot with resurrecting the dead and helping us fight the monsters. She also healed some of us with her support spells when we're in a tight spot.
Our group can't be really compared to the Thirteen Gods or their Guild officers but I can tell that we really helped them somehow. Our group almost killed hundreds of them. I've lost count when someone managed to land a hit on me, which really hurt a lot. It's been a couple of hours now but not a single sign of Scy and the other three leaders can be seen here.
"You've fought well, brats. Now the war is almost coming to an end. Let's go have a rest now." Celeste ordered us to get back.
Thousands of Orcs and players died on this battlefield. Thick blood of both sides are everywhere and are easily frozen by the cold environment. The unfamiliar smell of iron slips through my nose. The sound of slashes, hammering and even explosions from magic are still ringing into my ears. Now, the place is too quiet. If this is real, then the agony of losing those who fought would be really terrible but fortunately, this is just a game. What if it's all real? Are we still going for a war to protect humankind from an invasion? Or escape and find a place where people would be safe from danger? No one knows. It's been a long time since there is war around the real world.
I should really stop thinking too much. We won and that is all that matters for now. We are tired and resting. I don't think eating something right now would be even a good idea after all those gross bodies on my mind. We would never see something like this in real life. The awesomeness of this game is overflowing. Really...
After a while, we regrouped with the other officers. You can see that all of the people are really happy with the results. But they haven't withdrawn the archers and spellcasters yet which really bothers me.
"Hello, it's me. I was wondering if I could get all of your attention for a moment." It's Sis! She's going to start an announcement. That starting line sounds familiar though.
"You've fought really well today. You guys did a good job. But as you can see, melee fighters are still here in the battlefield while the archers and magicians are still hidden to a safe place to aid us when we need them. That's because I know that there 's still a bigger challenge than that and it's the time when the World Boss comes out!" She exclaimed. That explains a lot.
"I know that all of you are really tired and hungry right now after all that fighting we've done earlier today but we don't have much time to rest because I can feel it. The World Boss is almost upon us!" She is really worried about what might happen next.
"Haaa haaa... Your title of being the strongest player suits you very well for you to manage to gather this large kind of army. But can you keep it up?" A hollowed voice from the hole started to echo throughout the entire battlefield that gave us chills in our spine! My body started to tremble. It's like something out there is sucking all my courage to fight into the darkness! This is even worse than the pressure of the aura of the Legendary Bosses.
Clouds above the sky started to darken and surround the world in darkness. The silence is really hurting my ears. The only thing we can hear is the strange laugh from a hollowed voice. Is it the time for the World Boss?
World Bosses are supposed to be defeated by a thousand capable players but we have almost half a million right now. I don't think with this number, a World Boss can even defeat us. We can do this. The end of the invasion will surely be our victory!
"ALL OF YOU WILL SUCCUMB TO YOUR FEARS AND WILL SUFFER IN THE DEPTHS OF AGONY OF DEATH!!" The one who's talking from the hole made a loud hollow voice that is really scary! It's not just scary, like a freaking horror movie scary!
"SUPPORTS! LET THERE BE LIGHT!" Sis said. It's like Aurora can't even feel fear! She's so calm that she still can order what the best thing to do.
"We call ourselves Order of Light for a reason you know. ORDER OF LIGHT'S RADIANCE!" The guild leader of Order of Light said. He raised his staff and light started to gather around his warriors.
All of the warriors from the Order of Light that are wearing golden and white armors started to glow really bright! Their swords and armor were enchanted by light element but it doesn't pierce the darkness made by that unknown in that hole! The power of his darkness is even greater the combined light power of the warriors.
"Do you really think that your little light can really do something about my power? The power I just got from all of you a while ago." The hollowed voice said. It really creeps me out every time it talks.
What is it talking about? What power?
The darkness is really bad for us though. With this kind of atmosphere, people are prone to panic and confusion effects. If this continues, our moral would be really going down a lot! Not to mention, most of us here are really afraid of this unknown monster underground. Every time it talks, I can hardly breathe!
"My power grows stronger when more creatures die around me. Doesn't matter if it's a player or a monster, as long as there are souls I can gather! Let's see if your little light can protect you from the spawns of the dead! RISE, MY UNDEAD LEGION! LET'S SPREAD FEAR AND DEATH THROUGHOUT THE WORLD OF NEW LIFE AND END IT ALL!" The World Boss finally showed up from the hole and is now slowly floating above!
The dead Orcs and monsters started to stand up! Their bodies are still stiff yet they really rose from the dead. The most heartbreaking is when the bodies of the dead players also stood up and took up their arms and are getting ready to kill their former comrades because now, they became the allies of the monster who can summon the dead.
But how will you kill the dead?
