The ground shakes whenever the Orcs march. Vanguards are trembling in fear. Citizens also evacuated earlier so only the participants of this large-scale fight are here. Orcs wear heavy armors that even hundreds of arrows can't easily penetrate. Their spears are long and sharp aiming for the skulls of the weak. And because they are savage creatures, they don't waste time giving warnings to those who they want to conquer. Like the Vanguards Stronghold which is in between the Tundra and forest to the grasslands, this stronghold is the best target for Orcs who just came from the Icy Mountains.
But the Vanguards wouldn't just stay still and let the Orcs take their effort of building this stronghold and the blood they poured to defend it from the monsters who want to take it. Siegriel who's not on the front line but in the tallest tower wall decided to make a move.
"ARCHERS! FIRE YOUR ARROWS!" He ordered! But they are miles away. Even if they're at the tallest walls, it's impossible to hit them with this kind of range!
*SWOOOOOSH! SWOOOOSH! SWOOOOSH!* Hundreds of arrows flew towards the unprepared Orcs!
What the!? The arrows flew higher than regular arrows! Even I can't do something like that. This is what they called the Wind Arrows, Arrows infused with the power of Wind Magic which boosts its range power. I heard of it before but this is the first time I'm seeing one. This is the famous attack of the vanguards to subdue attackers or raiders from afar. Unlike Order of Light city, Vanguard's Stronghold is surrounded by more powerful monsters.
It's true that the arrows can hit the Orcs but because of their tough armors, the attack was ineffective. Lucky shots killed some of the Orcs but it didn't stop them from advancing. They continued to fire at the Orcs till they're out of arrows... But the power is lacking to penetrate their armors.
"It's ok archers. You did well. Defenders! Prepare to use your Defensive Stances! Warriors standby and prepare to attack!" Sieg ordered them with absolute authority.
The Orcs are already getting near us. This will be a bloodbath.
"Spell Casters! It's time for you to use your best offensive Magic!" Sieg ordered them to use magic attacks.
"FIREBALL! BOULDER CANNON! WIND SLICE! THUNDER!" Random Magic attacks were thrown towards the Orcs. The attack this time was super effective. A lot of Orcs were killed in those multiple magic attacks even if they tried to defend themselves.
After the massive use of magic spells, they stopped and rest for a while to regain mana. Orcs are already at the front of the gate! Solid defense from the Defenders stopped their advancement.
"ARCHERS! SHOOT!" This time, the leader of the Orcs ordered the archers to shoot their arrows! But...
*SWOOOOOSH! SWOOOOSH*
"WAAAAH! HEEELP!" The targets were not the defenders, it's the supports and spellcasters at the top of the towers!
They may be behind the barricades built on the walls but it was destroyed by the Orc archers! They don't use regular arrows like made by humans but larger and thicker one, destroying everything on its way! Supports that are supposed to use support spells were surprised and didn't have the chance to use spells! A lot of them died as soon as they got hit by the monstrous arrows. Thank God, Orc archers only have a limited number of arrows because of its incredibly weird features.
"Don't Panic! Those who are alive, heal those people with injuries! Archers resupply and attack!" Sieg didn't anticipate this kind of events. You can see on his face that he's really having a hard time.
Defenders at the front of the gate were easily devastated by the powerful attacks of Orcs. They were physically powerful than most of the humans. Their weapons are massive swords and spears which made the defenders crumbled easily like they were just simple barricades.
We need to do something about this or we will be a big mess! Jeez. Just where the heck is Scy?!
"Lili protects the defenders, Akko uses your most powerful attacks. And I will do something," I ordered them.
"LIGHT GREATER PUSH!" Lili with a massive light power pushed every Orc who were attacking the defenders.
"GREATER BARRIER!" She used a protective spell to protect them.
"MASSIVE FIRESTORM!" Fireballs are falling from the sky and creating massive explosions whenever they hit something killing a large number of Orcs.
"Akko! Let me borrow your power!" I grabbed my arrows and pointed it at the sky. Akko gave me the power of her mana into my arrows.
"ARROW FIRESTORM!" Arrows that sent flying were set on fire and just like Akko's spell, it exploded when they hit targets and because of the fire effect on arrows, it melted armors and the arrow pierces their armors!
Hundreds of them died from our attack which decreased the Orc's army to half.
"ATTACK!" The Orcs ordered their soldiers to attack!
"I can't hold it anymore!" Lili's barrier was destroyed easily for protecting numerous defenders.
And because the Vanguards spell casters and supports were injured earlier, their mana was focused on healing and can't attack anymore. Ughhh! If only Scy was here!
"Warden, it's our time to join the fight," Sieg said to Warden.
"Of course, that's the only thing I wanna hear from one of the Thirteen Gods," Warden replied.
Thirteen Gods? This is the first time I heard about it.
"WAAAAAAAAH!" They both jumped from the tallest wall and prepared to attack.
"BASILISK'S WRATH!" His armor changed into full-scale armor. His weapon also got enhanced into half a great sword but this time, his aura is more powerful.
The moment he landed, sandstorm covered the area and he disappeared.
"GWAAAAAAAH! GWAAAAAH!" The cries of Orcs can be heard from below. What the hell is happening?! He's using the same spell used by Scythus, Zeth, and Ms. Celeste but this time it's different. He's using a soul stone of a monster that came from a desert, a biome that hasn't discovered yet.
The Orcs panicked and their formation broke. They were devastated by the attack and because they don't know what's going on they suffered a huge loss on their moral.
"DRY QUICKSAND! SWALLOW THEM!" Sieg used a powerful spell that Orcs get sucked into the ground like a whirlpool.
