This month's tournament is going to be more exciting than those previous tournaments because today, all the strongest players are all going to join us. Every month, players are becoming more and more powerful. Their blood and sweat they have sacrificed will be put on a test! A test where the best fights the bests! That is why players who took their time training, hunting and exploring the world of New Life Online will fight in this arena! Let the Tournament begin!" The old geezer speech was really cool huh. A good way to start the tournament.
"WOOOOOH! WOOOOH!" The cheers and shouts of the people around the arena echoed throughout the whole city. You can feel the excitement around the arena. I'm also getting more and more nervous because people around the world will watch the whole tournament. It will even broadcast this competition live on TV.
"YOHOOOO! Let's now relax people of the New Life Online. We will explain the rules of the tournament so please listen very well. The total participants are 256 people. You need to win eight times in a row to win the tournament. You will win if your opponent surrenders, got outside the arena, incapacitated or killed in battle. There is no time limit, so you can fight to your heart's content. Participants are allowed to use any kinds of weapons, tools, mounts, pets, supplies or any other useful things to win the match. Thanks to our best builders, participants can now go all out and not destroy the arena because it was built to fully absorb the impact of any attacks without breaking the arena. The Order of Light's best supports will also make a barrier for the crowd in case the battle went overboard. The pairing of participants would be random so it's pretty normal if you fight your friends or guild members. Let's Start the First Match!" Aika explained. This is going to be a hell of a game. There will be 128 fights today. Jeez, that's a lot of fights.
Today my fight would be at the number 56 match. That's still a lot of fights and waiting.
"The first match is..." The first fights are not worth seeing. They are just random guild officers from various guilds. I watched the whole fight. Most of the fights were one-sided. It's either "I kill you" or "I surrender" and some trash talks from both of the fighters. They prefer surrendering than fighting to avoid losing their mastery's levels.
"The winner is Venum, guild leader of Serpentes!" Aika announced the winner on the 20th fight. That was the fight of Venum, he really is strong but too bad his enemy was weak so I didn't see anything that will show any weaknesses. You can't even call it a fight.
Some of the Thirteen Gods won the match without any problems. Even their trusted guild officers like Warden, Mari, Azzie, Deandre, and others also won. It's now Lili's turn.
"I'm getting nervous. I hope she win without getting hurt that much. Her enemy looks strong too." Akko worriedly said.
"Don't worry, just trust her abilities. We trained very well." I tried to calm her down.
"The next match is Lili, Scythus party's trusted support versus Covra, one of Serpentes best assassins," Aika announced. Serpentes huh. This will be a fast fight I think.
"Ready, Fight!"
*TIIIIIING!* The bell rang that signals the start of the fight.
"Covra rushed towards Lili as soon as the battle started! He's preparing to attack! How can Lili defend with her fragile and soft body from her attacker?" Aika excitedly said though the fragile and soft body was a nice touch.
"POISONOUS STAB!" He pointed his dagger at Lili aiming for her body. Getting hit by a poisonous dagger would put you at a disadvantage. But Lili knows better.
"LIGHT GOD'S HAMMER!" A giant light hammer came out from above and dropped towards Covra! It was a fast move that if caught you by surprise, it could stun you.
"Lili used one of her support spells that deal damage and stun a foe at the same time! But she missed!" Aika commented. She really missed. Covra read her movements and avoided the attack fast enough.
"Haha! Just as I thought! Take this!" Covra prepared another one of his attacks. He is fast! He must have a good Agility.
"LIGHT PRISON!" Before he got near Lili, she managed to create a cage made out of solid Light properties that imprisoned Covra in an instant.
"What the hell is this?!" He tried to struggle but it was decided. It was already Lili's win.
"LIGHT PRISON PUNISHMENT!" The cage squashed Covra with a powerful force. He didn't die but he lost consciousness.
"The winner is Lili!" Aika announced. That was a fast fight.
As soon as she finished the fight she went to our place.
"Yay Lili! Good job!" Akko said her congrats.
"Nice work Lili!" Elou also said.
"For a girl with a fragile and soft body, that was really a good fight." I teased her a bit.
"Hmp!" She just pouted but also smiled while looking away.
After that, it was my turn next.
"The next match is Scythus, the infamous murderer versus Vulkhan, the Leader of the Obsidian's Pit Guild!" Wait, what?! What the heck? Did she just say Vulkhan? The hell's with my luck?! The way she introduced me really sucks though.
"AHA! Scythus first fight is with Vulkhan, the Third God! For those who hate Scythus, it's your time to cheer!" Damn it Aika. Putting oil in the flame...
I entered the arena with just my trusted equipment, sword, and shield but compared to him, as a guild leader, he wears the best equipment he could wear. I'm not going to lie but my chance of winning is uncertain. If he really is strong as they said, I might go all out today. Damn it! I was hoping for just a warm-up fight, but this is just ridiculous...
He entered the arena fully equipped with a good armor and a giant sword flame infused sword. Last time he was using a lance and equipped with a helmet so I didn't see his face, maybe because he is riding a horse. You can feel his aura around. He may be just standing there but you can already feel his power. I can't stop trembling from excitement. My first fight is with one of the strongest. If I defeat him, I will be considered as one of the strongest around here.
