Chapter 233: Not at a Loss!

Although it was the Lunar New Year, the Wasteland Reclaimers arrived rather quickly and took over the management of the situation from the Star Warriors Armed Police Force and the Victors Legion.

Jiang Xiao had to admit that he was a little bewildered when he saw the Wasteland Reclaimers jumping down from the car.

There were two military jeeps and they only had two squads, which made up a total of eight people.

The eight of them were not dressed uniformly, but their attires were themed around the colors gray and yellow.

One of the men was wearing a camouflage uniform that was meant to be worn in wastelands and so was rather representative. On the other hand, the rest of the men and women were donning tops, pants, and even shoes that revolved around the colors gray, yellow, and black.

What really amazed Jiang Xiao was that they were either wearing gray-yellow scarves or gray-yellow face masks that covered the bottom halves of their faces. It looked like they were going to enter the desert and so were wearing scarfs to shield themselves from the sand.

They looked just like special task force soldiers that were meant to be stationed in the desert. Their attires were only slightly different from one another, but the styles were similar.

However, the question was, why were some of them wearing scarves while the others were wearing masks?

Isn’t this an army? Why don’t they dress uniformly?

Well, if Jiang Xiao were to see photos of them on the Internet, he would definitely dare to type away on his keyboard and question their attire in the comments section.

However, in the face of the eight “desert” soldiers approaching him, Jiang Xiao dared not make a single sound at all.

The Wasteland Reclaimers were wearing their hats low, but even they were not uniform. Some of them were wearing battle camouflage caps while some were wearing hunter camouflage caps.

So… is this a special army?

Are they unlike ordinary squads because they’re special?

Look at the Star Warriors Armed Police Force patrolling strictly on the streets. They’re all dressed suavely and they look so majestic.

Now, look at the Victors Legion dressed in orange and yellow camouflage uniforms…

Wait, that doesn’t seem right either. The Guardians Of The Night are the same as the Wasteland Reclaimers.

Look at them, they’re all dressed neatly in cool black, with the character “Ye” (Night) embroidered in red on the epaulet. They’re dressed in loose black-colored large cloaks that make them look extremely suave. They’d look good in any photo.

Jiang Xiao observed the situation curiously, only to discover that although the Wasteland Reclaimers were not dressed uniformly, they were all wearing epaulets with the word “Wasteland” embroidered on them. It was unknown who designed it. The epaulet had a camouflage base and the words were in a deep cream color. Hence, the fonts were not too obvious or eye-catching.

Although the eight members of the two teams seemed rather mediocre, they were rather influential as they entered Central Street.

Aura is invisible, yet its presence is real.

Under normal circumstances, Jiang Xiao and Han Jiangxue would have nothing to do with the Wasteland Reclaimers. After all, it was a secret squad of the nation. Besides, they were still on a mission.

However, one of the young soldiers seemed to know them. When he saw both of them, he was indeed a little worried. He even walked towards them and asked about their condition. After ensuring that they were alright, he left quickly.

“They’re wearing masks and shades. Are they trying to dress like thugs?” Jiang Xiao remarked while standing together with the rest in front of the Dimensional Space and watching the young soldier disappear. He asked, “Do you know him?”

Han Jiangxue shook her head and said, “His surname is Qin, but I’ve never heard of him before. His voice doesn’t sound familiar either. We’ll ask Uncle Xia about it later.”

Jiang Xiao nodded. The young man just now did introduce himself as Qin and he sounded like a young person. Since he could join the Wasteland Reclaimers at such a young age, he probably was a genius.

Jiang Xiao suddenly asked, “When our parents went out on a mission back then, did they also dress like these desert thugs?”

Xia Yan suddenly said, “I’ve seen photos of Xia Shanhai going on his missions before.”

Jiang Xiao was suddenly interested and he asked curiously, “Did he dress in the same style as those Wasteland Reclaimers just now?”

Xia Yan thought for a while and said, “Back then, he liked wearing a mask which revealed only his eyes and mouth.”

Fire… Firebird warrior?

Jiang Xiao scratched his head and asked, “He was going to rob the bank, wasn’t he? He then ended up getting lost and so decided to join the army?”

Xia Yan remained silent.

Having gotten rid of the crisis, Jiang Xiao and the rest were driven away after the Wasteland Reclaimers arrived. At last, Jiang Xiao didn’t talk to the people from the Victors Legion. He hoped that they would remember him to be a student from “Jiangbin High School Year Three Class 1”.

However, they probably wouldn’t forget it since Jiang Xiao repeated it again and again like a repeater during the fight earlier on.

The team of three returned to the parking lots and left Central Street after their identities were verified by the police on patrol.

The morning of “shopping” was indeed unexpected. They didn’t expect such a thing to happen right before the Lunar New Year. However, that was not something they could interfere with at this stage. Hence, they decided to go home and watch the news.

If there were no news, they would wait for the notice.

Xia Yan sent the siblings home and drove back to her own home for Lunar New Year, after much insistence and persuasion by Han Jiangxue.

Han Jiangxue and Jiang Xiao were the only ones left at home. Jiang Xiao got busy and tidied up the house. However, he found it to be a little whimsical.

When he was putting up the couplets, he shared about his transmigration experience with Han Jiangxue.

Han Jiangxue was stunned speechless and she thought, Such things actually happen in this world?

Illusion? Transmigrating? Predicting the future? A reasonable conjecture and prediction of the future?

What’s that? Is that some sort of Star Technique?

Jiang Xiao was a little confused as well. He stood on the chair and put up some couplets while saying, “I’m still a little confused now. I wonder if I’ll suddenly wake up in Central Street again at a certain moment.”

“Well…” Han Jiangxue was suddenly speechless and she also had doubts about life.

She was willing to believe Jiang Xiao. After all, she had witnessed all of his actions and behavior, especially when he walked out of the apparel store, all drenched in sweat. He seemed to be sure of everything that happened next and managed to resolve plenty of crises too. It was as if he knew what was going to happen.

He rescued a member of the Victors Legion effortlessly without requiring any suggestions or orders from others. He also used all sorts of Star Techniques appropriately to give aid to the Victors Legion, leading Xia Yan to kill the special stone monsters. He also avoided a major disaster after entering the Dimensional Space.

It turned out that he had experienced all of that during his “dream”.

On one hand, Han Jiangxue was in awe of how magical the matter was, but on the other hand, she was also panicking and wondering how she should prove that everything happening at the moment was not a dream.

After putting up the couplets, Jiang Xiao stood on the stool and looked down at her, thinking that it would be convenient to launch a sneak attack. He turned around and bent over, giving her a kiss without uttering a single word!

Muacks~

Han Jiangxue was stepping on the stool in a bid to stabilize it for Jiang Xiao. She was still thinking about how she should help Jiang Xiao out of his state of confusion when she suddenly felt Jiang Xiao’s lips being pressed against her forehead.

If you want to kiss me and attack me sneakily, just do it.

Why did you add your own sound effects?

Han Jiangxue’s pupils constricted and she subconsciously kicked the stool away with horror written all over her face.

Boom!

Jiang Xiao fell down immediately and landed on his butt. Fortunately, he had two butt cheeks.

“Ah.” Jiang Xiao rubbed his buttocks and looked up at her.

Han Jiangxue looked down at him and asked coldly, “Does it feel real enough?”

Tsk tsk, It’s so real! It’s too realistic!

Jiang Xiao would never doubt the reality of this world anymore.

“Hmph.” Han Jiangxue humphed and strode into the room.

Jiang Xiao raised his head and looked at the horizontal couplet that he had put up, which read “May We Be Blessed”, and thought to himself, Is it not placed properly?

Jiang Xiao stood up while rubbing his buttocks.

Although they hurt a little, he had indeed kissed her.

Yes, I didn’t lose out at all!
