It’s just too difficult to find someone whom my family is happy with, and as it happens, you’re regarded as satisfactory by both my parents, so when they gave the nod, I naturally did not object. Didn’t you care at all how I would feel finding out about your deeds?! I didn’t ask you to reciprocate my love or require you to be with me.
