"Atchoo! Achoo! " Alexa started sneezing for the life of her, and it worries her older brother Daniel. Concern was showing in his handsome face as he asked her.
"Bless, you! What's wrong? Are you not feeling good?" Daniel touched her forehead to see if she has a fever, 'she does not.' He then tries her neck. "temperature normal" Once he verified that she's alright, he heaves a sigh of relief. "Good, you don't have a fever. Are you allergic to something? Maybe that's what it is, allergy! What did we have for breakfast? Hmmm, let me think... N-no-no! that couldn't be it, it got to be something, and I can't put the finger on it." Daniel keeps trying to figure out what causes for Alexa to sneeze.
"What did you have for a drink just now? Did you take a cold shower this morning?" Daniel just kept on asking all kind of question as he checks Alexa to ensure that she's not catching a cold or something. Brotherly love was emitting all over the place, and Ria couldn't help but grin while she's standing guard.
Alexa loved every second of the way her newfound older brother was worried about her. She never had an older brother as she was growing up. Therefore, Alexa never knew what it feels like to be protected and pampered by an older brother before, and she loves every minute of the attention she's receiving from Daniel Grant.
While Daniel was showering Alexa with concern and love, she suddenly, felt a twinge of ache in her heart. She couldn't bear to think of what would happen if...and when the result comes back, and they found out that they are not blood-related at all. What would she do then?
When she thought about Daniel not being her older brother; The pain started shooting in her heart. She knew of him in such a short time, but then yet, she feels like they had known each other all their lives. 'Must be the blood running through their vanes.' She thought while gazing at him with tender loving care.
While Daniel was concerned about her health, Alexa was worrying about what's going to happen in the future. She needed to distance herself a little. It's not a good idea to be too attached to him, what would she do if impact she's not related to him, how would she handle it then? How would she react to him later on? She has too many questions without any answers.
Back in the Philippines, she felt the same way with her known cousin, Andrea Santos who's three years older than her and had always treated her like a baby sister as they were growing up. After finding out they were not blood-related to each other, she couldn't find the guts to say goodbye when she left for America to meet with her father. Thinking about it now makes her feel a lot worse than before she left without saying goodbye. She would need to make it up to Andrea when she goes back to the Philippines.
Her heart started aching once again. She suddenly became unhappy with the thought of going back to the Philippines? 'Is it because of her new found family? Now that she has an instant older brother who's so adorable and lovable and a President of a Country as a father, who would want to go back to her old lifestyle before? Not her, if she could help it...'
Alexa was in deep thought that she did not realize that her older brother had been talking to her all this time. "Little sister, are you ready? Ria had been waiting for you over there; see!" He pointed his pouted mouth toward Ria whose standing guard straight up and not coming close to bother them.
Ria wasn't moving nor saying anything; she knows better than to interrupt the bonding the two were having. She's happy for Alexa to have found allies within the wall of White House, she would need it badly when the time comes. Right now, no one knows if she's the rightful First daughter of the First Family or a nobody, only time would tell. However, for the time being, Ria would be happy for her young boss.
Alexa follows and looks at the direction Daniel's mouth was pointing. Sure enough, Ria was standing still like a statue, not moving. From a distance, Ria looks like she's not even breathing if Alexa didn't see her blinking eyes, she would thought she's a mannequin. Alexa decided to play a prank on Ria, she walked towards her and started poking her sides to see if Ria's ticklish.
Ria was trying hard not to laugh, but because she's ticklish, she ends up laughing out loud...
"Hahaha! Hahaha! Miss Grant, please! Stop! Hahaha! Oh, my God! Please, stop! Miss Grant!!!" Ria begged Alexa to stopped or she might... And It did happen, and she peed in her pants...
Ria was so embarrassed that she ran towards the bathroom as fast as she could without looking back to the two whose laughing so hard they were almost in tears.
"You are bad, and you know that! Why did you do that for? What would you have done if she beat the shit out of you? She's a black belt, you know! You're pretty lucky that I'm here, or else!.." Daniel tries to scare Alexa.
"Or else, what? If she's a black belt, then I'm Green, Blue, and Purple... Hahaha! I have more colors than her. Do you think she could beat me? Hahaha!" Alexa knows that Ria would never do anything to hurt her, Ria would protect her with her life, not beat her to death, she knew that the first time she laid eyes on her.
Ria was too embarrassed to face Daniel Grant, and if Alexa didn't look for her and apologize, she probably would have stayed inside the bathroom and never come out. "Miss Ria, please!!! Forgive me? I was only playing with you, and I didn't mean for it to happen. Please! Could we go now? I need you to protect me, you know!" She banters, hoping that Ria would forgive her.
Ria was still contemplating when they heard Daniel's voice calling them from the outside. They didn't have any choice but to go, or they might get scolded by Daniel in return. Ria opened the door wide, "After you!" With a smile on her face, meaning she's accepting the apology and forgiving Alexa in return.
"Thank you!" Alexa whispered to Ria as she passed her by on the way out. "Coming!" She shouted to her older brother. "Let's go shopping!"
Three cars were prepared and waiting for them at the entrance of the Private residence. On the first car would be Logan, Lucas, and Ria. The second car is where Alexa and Daniel would ride while Daniel's detail would be following behind in the last car.
Everyone was briefed before leaving the White House to give the siblings some privacy. They were to follow inconspicuously. At least Ten or Twenty steps behind, but not too far in case someone tries to hurt them while they were out in the open. It's a protocol to have a detail wherever Daniel goes, and now that she's a part of the First Family, she would need one at all time too.
All was set, and they head out to the City Shopping Center were all the upscale restaurant and shops were located. Daniel plans on taking her out to a fancy restaurant for lunch, after shopping to give her a surprise. Or should we say, Daniel would be in for a big surprise...
