Lucie said "As I just said, I am the Red Scorpion. But unlike what the masses think, I am not the leader of the Red Scorpion Gang, the Stingers are."

Dorian nodded and said "I know that." Lucie smiled and said "That's good. Initially we didn't intend on implicating you but now you seem even stronger than us so your help would be appreciated. Have you heard what is going to happen in two days?"

Dorian nodded again and said "The City Lord sent his men to warn me about it, he will launch an assault on the gang." Lucie nodded and said "Good. Which side do you intend on joining?"

Dorian's body tensed, ready to jump and attack as he replied "I will finish my job and kill the remaining Stingers."

But Lucie merely smiled and said "Good, we can work together then." Dorian looked at her surprised as he relaxed his body. Charles intervened "Before everything let's explain to you what's happening in the city."

Dorian looked at him and he continued "As you know, many people took shelter in this city because of the war, right?" Dorian nodded, and Charles said "The war is between the two human kingdoms, Nevaria and Celevaria. The city is within Nevaria's borders, and thus is governed by someone affiliated to Nevaria."

Lucie added "The City Lord, Marcus, is not just a City Lord but also an Earl within Nevaria. Now this city isn't really important, it is too hard to reach to have any value in the war, but Marcus is."

Dorian asked "Why? And for who?" Lucie said "Marcus is said to have something important to the King of Nevaria on him. He cannot deliver this thing because once he leaves the protection of the city he will undoubtedly die. So he is stuck here and needs to wait for a more powerful person to come fetch him."

Charles said "And this important thing for the king, of course Celevaria wants to take it for themselves. That's why they sent their own men to confront Marcus. Those people are the 13 Stingers."

Dorian frowned and said "And you two aren't part of either side, right? Who are you?" Charles smiled and said "We represent another power. This treasure, neither Celevaria nor Nevaria really know its uses, they only hope to send it to a more powerful force to get their assistance in the war. But the power we come from, know how to use this treasure, and want it."

Dorian asked "Why did you ally with Celevaria then?" Lucie said "Of course they don't know our true objective, we have struck a deal to help each other, we kill Marcus and they get the treasure. Of course that's a lie."

Dorian massaged his temples and said "So let me recapitulate. Marcus, the City Lord, has a treasure that both kingdoms want, to gift it to a more powerful power. And you two want to take it away for your own power. And what do you want me to do exactly?"

Charles replied "We didn't intend on including you at first, but your strength surprised us, so we would like to strike a deal with you. Help us deal with both forces, and all of their treasures will be yours. In exchange, we get that treasure."

Dorian looked at him straight in the eyes and asked "But if I help you rob this treasure, I will have two kingdoms chasing me. And probably that stronger force too. Are those treasures you are proposing really worth it?"

They both stopped talking before Lucie said "Do you know what a Heart of the Mountain is?" Dorian looked at her and said "I've heard of it." Lucie smiled and said "This is a powerful object that lies in some mountains and that can be used for various means, including forging, making potions, or it can even be absorbed for power. The problem is that they need to be tamed."

Dorian didn't say anything and Lucie continued "There exists one in this mountain. I can help you tame it. Then, use it or sell it, do whatever you want it will be yours."

By the time she finished, Lucie believed she had won, but the Dorian said "I already used it." Lucie and Charles were shocked at first, but then Lucie scoffed "Don't lie for benefits. Even I need to use a powerful magical item to tame it, you don't even know magic, how could you tame it."

The bread on the table suddenly started floating, and Dorian said "First, I do know magic. But for this Heart, I didn't tame it, you are right. I just used it."

Lucie frowned and said "Impossible. You would be consumed by it." Dorian shook his head and said "I didn't. Believe me or not, I did destroy it. So, I'm not interested. Anything else you can offer me? Otherwise, I will just ignore your deal."

Lucie sneered and said "I won't get robbed by a brat. We don't need your help." Since the beginning of the meeting, she had been polite, holding in her feelings, but it seemed that she finally couldn't hold her arrogance in anymore.

Dorian didn't say anything to her rudeness and just got up, heading towards the exit. Charles immediately followed him and once they reached the door Charles said "Sorry for that… But you really shouldn't have lied Dorian."

Dorian shook his head silently and walked away. If they decided not to believe him then its their problem. Honestly, why would he care about their deal? What they offered him, he could already get them by himself.

Right now, he just had to head to the City Lord's mansion, kill him and rob the house. It would be as simple as that. So why would he take the risk of becoming the enemy of two kingdoms and an even stronger force?

Sure, Charles is his friend, but in their relationship, Charles is the one who owns his life to Dorian, not the opposite.

Anyway, it wasn't his problem if they didn't want his aid. He would do his stuff and hope they don't cross his way. But they shouldn't, if they were able to feel his power level. So like that, Dorian left off and started hunting a few Red Scorpion members.

What he didn't know was that no one could could feel his true power. The power that would be granted to him by his new skills is deeply hidden and can't be felt by those people, so they could only feel a part of his power.

Back in the house, Lucie asked Charles "What do we do with him?" Charles sighed and replied "Just let him kill the Stingers if he is capable." Lucie sneered and said "He thinks he is so mighty, when he meets Marcus he will shit his pants and come beg for assistance."

Charles rolled his eyes and said "No need to be so salty, he just said no." Lucie said "That brat… should we kill him?"

Charles looked at her shocked and said "Are you crazy?!" Lucie replied "You have already seen his growth until now, he grew from a trash to nearly becoming as strong as us."

Charles shook his head and said "No, we can't do that. I owe him my life. I absolutely won't do that." Lucie sneered and replied "I can do it alone."

Charles rolled his eyes and said "I don't want you to kill him, alright?" Lucie frowned and said "He could be a danger to the Cult."

Charles stayed silent for a moment hearing her, before saying "For now, he isn't. He has no reason to confront the cult for now. But if you attack him, what's going to happen? First case, you kill him, then everything is fine. But what if he escapes? Then, we would have a new enemy with a nearly endless growing capacity."

Lucie's frown deepened, but in the end she still said "Okay, I won't do anything to him. Now, join me in our room, I need it." Charles' serious face disappeared and he followed her with a big smile.
