Ling Xian stood with hands behind his back and stared afar. His white robe was prancing in the wind rhythmically.
Bai Xiao Qi's features were delicate and beautiful as always. She stood behind Ling Xian with a look of complexity.
After a while, Ling Xian revealed a faint smile and broke the silence, "You have been standing here with me for half an hour, why aren't you speaking?"
"I…" Bai Xio Qi uttered out, then paused. Her pearly eyes were completely focused on Ling Xian's slender back. Her eyes appeared damp.
"Bai Xiao Qi, this is so not like you. Why are you hesitating so much?" Ling Xian laughed. Because he didn't turn his head, he didn't notice Bai Xiao Qi's strange expression.
After he left the O Yang House, he rushed back to the Yan Clan and told Yan Xiong Fei all about his interactions with the O Yang Clan and about the alliance. He then returned here.
"Xian Ling, I…" Bai Xiao Qi was close to crying as she stared at Ling Xian's back. There were hints of tears and thankfulness.
After Ling Xian left, she learned of his whereabouts from Yan Xiong Fei. Though he wasn't too sure what was happening, she was certain that his tasks were difficult.
And now, Ling Xian had returned. Though he acted as if nothing was wrong, Bai Xiao Qi could tell that he was exhausted. She also knew that he must've given it all to accomplish the three tasks in order to form the alliance.
Thus, how can Bai Xiao Qi not be thankful? At the same time however, she felt like it was all her fault and her heart ached.
"Hmm?"
Sensing Bai Xiao Qi's crying tone, Ling Xian frowned. Turning around, he saw the young girl whose tears were about to fall, and he was a little startled. But quickly, he realized, "It seems like you have found out what I've been up to."
"Of course I know... I know."
Bai Xiao Qi said "I know" twice and could no longer contain her emotions. As she cried, she grabbed onto Ling Xian and buried her head against his chest. "Ahhh…. Xian Ling, why are you so nice to me."
"I…"
Feeling the sudden tenderness against his body, Ling Xian was shocked. He patted Bai Xiao Qi on the back and laughed, "Okay, why are you crying so much? Let me go."
"No, I will not let go." Bai Xiao Qi continued to cry and her nose continued to run. She hugged tightly onto Ling Xian and continued to cry into his chest. She let her emotions take over.
Ling Xian shook his head helplessly and consoled, "Okay, stop crying. Since I agreed to help you, of course I have to do everything I can. There's no need to be like this."
"What do you mean there's no need? Are you dumb? I am not related to you, why are you being so nice and why did you do so much for me!" Bai Xiao Qi's eyes became swollen. Her arms tightened around him.
These things, to Ling Xian, were not important. He did everything because he wanted to keep his promise. But to Bai Xiao Qi, it was incomparable kindness. For a girl who was alone without anyone to rely on, Ling Xian was like a small flame in the dark that gave her hope, warmth, and courage.
"You…"
Ling Xian shook his head helplessly, "Bai Xiao Qi, let go. Or else I will not do what I have to do next."
"Hmmph, nope! You don't have to do what you have to do. Who are you trying to threaten?" Bai Xiao Qi continued to hiss and grumble, "I don't care. I just want to hug you and I never want to let go."
Ling Xian was completely helpless by now, "Whatever then, do as you will."
Hearing this, Bai Xiao Qi's arms tightened even more. Her little head was buried in his chest, as if she was trying hard to inhale his infactuating scent.
They stayed like that for an entire 30 minutes before she finally started to let go. Her eyes however, were still teary.
"Bai Xaio Qi, are you completely made out of water? You sure have a lot of tears." Ling Xian laughed and leaned. He wiped off her tears and grinned kindly, "Okay, since I came back safely and everything's been taken care of, you should be happy."
"Yes, I am happy."
Bai Xiao nodded and stared at the young man before her. She then asked in a serious tone, "Why are you so nice to me?"
"I have to do everything I can to fulfill my promise to you." Ling Xian smiled.
"So it's only because it was a promise…" Bai Xiao Qi's eyes darkened. But quickly, she suppressed those thoughts, "No matter what it is. I am glad you returned safely."
"Not only did I return safely, I have formed the alliance. Very quickly, we will snatch back the Bai Clan for you." Ling Xian's lips curled up. His trip was very fruitful. Not only did he form an alliance, he had gotten something of value from each of the three clans. This was enough to overjoy him.
Hearing Ling Xian bringing up the matter about her clan, Bai Xiao Qi's eyes brightened. But quickly, she shook her head, "Xian Ling, I do not want you to be in danger."
Ling Xian frowned, understanding what Bai Xaio Qi was thinking of. Her heart warmed. "Idiot, the situation now is not something we can change. Even if we give up, the Bai Clan and the mysterious force will not."
"Hmm…"
Bai Xiao Qi frowned, understanding what he was saying, "Then…. Then please be careful. You are not allowed to die."
"Die? Why say such things of bad luck. Do not worry. We didn't lose the battle, which means I can at least escape if anything bad happens." Ling Xian had a smile on his lips but he was sighing on the inside.
The truth was that he wasn't all that confident neither. After all, the capability of the mysterious House is unknown and he wasn't sure if he can truly win the war.

Bai Xiao Qi smiled brightly and stared at the handsome young man before her. She then made a statement that was enough to astonish the entire Trading Island.
"I made a decision. If you can help me take back the Bai Clan, I will pass all the fortune the Bai Clan has to you. I will also name you the ruler, forever and always."
All the fortune of the Bai Clan?

Ling Xian was in awe. Even with his normal calmness, he was startled by this.
