Ever since I was a child, Rahul taught me to always honor my promises. To not break them no matter the cost.

Because if you make a promise and then break it, then is your promise really worth anything.

Does your words really mean anything if you can't back them up with your actions.

Rahul not only said those words to me, he proved to me that he was a man of his word by always keeping his promise.

And that was also the reason why he made so few promises in his life.

When you know that you have to fulfill your promise even if you have to go through hell to do it, you start to understand the true weight of your words.

I would never admit to Netra that I regretted promising her to stay by her side. But I knew it the moment I made that promise, that I should have made it.

After all, I had a family of my own to take care off.

Even if Big bro is stronger than me, and my little sister has two Hollers by her side who are just as strong as me, I would always worry about them.

But I made a promise. And if I don't do what I promised, then I would be spitting on everything that my big bro ever taught me which was something I would never do.

Now I was at an impasse.

I wanted to go back to my family once I was fully healed but I could not break my promise to Netra. Especially since I owe so much to her.

After thinking for a while, I realized that I was left with only one choice.

I had to take Netra back along with me.

But would she be willing to come with me.

I had no idea.

I had to ask her. After all, how would I know without trying.

But right now was not the time to ask her such things because she was not in the right mindset at the moment.

'So I'll ask her when I meet her the next time.' With that, I went back to my hut to sleep.

We were going on a hunt tonight. I would ask her before we leave for the hunt.

—————

A gentle voice woke me up from my sleep and I realized that it was the most beautiful thing I've heard in my entire life.

I yawned as I got out of my bed and followed the voice coming from outside the hut.

'How long has it been since I heard a song.' I wondered.

The mechanic back in the camp sold songs and charged your mobile for 3 1st tier crystals. But after I beat the crap out of him and destroyed his equipments, I never went to his shop ever again. And even if I went, I doubt he would have given me his services.

Unless I threaten him. But I had already made a lot of mistakes back in the camp and I not going to create even more problems for my big bro so I never went back to the mechanic after that.

I wondered if the voice and the song sounded so good because I've not heard a song for a long time.

Maybe.

But such things did not matter to me as I followed the song and reached the river bank where Netra was smoking some Creepy Buggers on top of a small fire while singing in a beautiful and gentle tone.

I didn't knew that she was such a good singer but then again, it's not like I've known her for a long time either.

So I closed myeyes and sat on the ground while enjoying her beautiful voice.

Just her beautiful voice, along with the sound of flowing river in the background.

'Life is not so bad after all.' I thought as I opened my eyes and looked at the blue sky which had a red tint to it because the sun was setting in the horizon.

I had a feeling that Netra knew I was here even though she had not looked back to me once.

And I appreciated it. I appreciated that she didn't stop singing in my presence so that I could enjoy this beautiful moment for a while longer.

But just like all good things, this one came to an end as well. And as it did, I could not stop the compliment that came out of my mouth.

"You have the voice of the angels." I said and even as the words left my lips, I realized how corny they sounded.

But I didn't want to take them back. I won't take them back because those words came from my heart.

I truly believed that her voice was divine.

She giggled at my words and I had a feeling that she found my compliment corny but also understood that it was a genuine compliment.

I wondered how she was able to understand me so well.

'Was it because we were both Fiends.' I wondered but didn't voice my thoughts.

"Thanks you." She said and continued smoking the mutant fish.

"Why are you smoking so many mutant fishes." I asked and even as the words left my lips, I realized how stupid it sounded.

After all, she was a Fiend. Just like me. And if I could eat more than 400 kg of meat in one setting without feeling satisfied, then she, who was even powerful than me, would of course be able to eat more than me.

But if so, then why was she smoking it and keeping it aside instead of eating them.

"We are going after your family so I needed to pack some snacks for the journey." She said and laughed as my face morphed into a surprised expression.

"What? You thought that I would keep you away from your family." She said and I could see the way her expression saddened at the word 'family'. "I'm not that cruel you know. I know that your family is important to you and I don't want you to stay away from them." She smiled sadly and I smiled back at her.

"Thank you." I said and bowed to her "This means a lot to me."

She smiled in return and said "If you want to show your appreciation, then don't fall behind at the hunt tonight."

"I won't." I said with a smile.
