When morning came, I was unceremoniously pulled out of my bed and dropped in a place which had been cleared of all obstacles and where the ground was even and smooth.

I gave Netra a questioning gaze and to my horror, she takes out her weapons instead.

A kukri on both hands.

Kukri. A native weapon used by the tribes in the northern-east area of India.

The legend of Gurkhas who weilded this weapon and fought till every last one of them died in the battlefield is something most people knows.

The ones she's holding at the moment looks crude, old and rusted. But I know for a fact that those weapons can carve through a 4th tier creature's hide as easily as butter.

I took out my large cleaver and shield and got ready to face her.

I knew that I stood no chance. But if I can hold even a minute against her in the spar then I'll count that as my win.

With a feral grin and a growl, she charged at me.

Ten seconds later, I was lying face first on the ground.

With a healthy amount of respect and fear for the girl who cried in my arms last night.

My shield had been battered under her barrage of attacks and my my sword, which I was only able to use defensively, had three large nicks on it's bladed surface.

Yeah. Those weapons are deadly.

And Netra is deadlier.

"Get up." She shouted and I jumped up from my position only to come under her attacks the very next second.

This time I lasted a bit longer.

I would like to say that it was because I was able to read her attacks and was able to counter them to a greater extent this time and it would be true.

But the only reason I was able to hold her off for twenty whole seconds was because she went a bit easy on me.

"Your technique is crude. We'll need to work on that." She said as she circled my fallen form. "Get up." She shouted and I jumped up once again.

Only to eat dirt soon after.

This time she did not had to tell me to get up as I was up the very moment I fell to the ground and got to see a smile on her face for my action, which changed into a feral smirk soon after and the attacks continues.

A giant and heavy sword does not work very well when you're on the defensive. This was something I learned soon after the spar started.

So I had to find a different strategy to fight that relied heavily on my shield and finding an opportunity to swing my sword.

I still remember her surprised expression when I used her attacks to gain distance from her and swung my sword at her for the first time.

Of course she side stepped my swing with the grace of a cat and gave me a punch that knocked the air out of my lungs for my effort but I won't forget her surprised expression any time soon.

I was getting better by sparring against her.

She was far more skilled than me. And probably twice as strong and twice as fast as well. But if I kept learning under her then I was sure that I would be able to surpass her.

Not today. Not tomorrow. Not in the upcoming week or month. But one day, I would surpass.

Fiends have more stamina that most other evolution branches. And from the looks of it, she had intended to take full advantage of this situation.

That was the only reason we sparred continuously for the next two days.

Whenever we became thirsty, there was a river with clean water just beside us.

Whenever we became hungry or exhausted, we ate mutant beast meat and rejuvenated ourselves.

By the end of the second day, I had finished the 17 3rd tier mutant beasts in my spatial ring.

And despite having fought on numerous occasions before, I had never felt so tired before.

Netra looked a bit exhausted as well but nothing like me who had trouble standing straight and holding my sword.

She batted my sword away with a look of annoyance on her face and gave me a sharp kick which sent me sprawling on the ground for a good ten meters.

When I tried to get up once again she put her feet on my chest and stopped me from doing so.

'Don't look under her skirt. Don't stare at her soaked chest.'

"You're exhausted to the extant that you're not even able to hold your sword properly anymore. Hmm… I think this should be enough for now."

She picked me by my collar and threw me into the pond for a short bath after which I crawled back to the bed in my hut and fell asleep.

It was the best sleep I got in a long while.

When I woke up once again, my whole body was feeling sore. But I knew, that after that sparring session, my skills had increased by leaps and bounds.

I wanted to test myself against a mutant beast horde.
