I looked at the map to check once more and realized that I was close to that area. I closed that map and climbed a tall tree and lo and behold. It was right there.

The beautiful lake surrounded by green grass and tall but sparse trees from all sides.

It was a beautiful scenery. No one could deny that.

The lake was not a large one. Not even the quarter size of a football field. But it was beautiful. It radiated peace and calm.

I needed peace and calm.

I took out the hunting gear I had 'borrowed' from one of the stores in the last town and sat down at the bench near the lake.

I had not fished before in my life. But I had watched someone else do it numerous times in the movies and episodes. I had even played a game about fishing once before.

So I had a basic idea of what I was supposed to do.

Attach a hook at the end of the string. Attach a bait to the hook. Throw it at the lake/river.

And wait.

I had no idea if I was doing it the right way or not. I did not know if fishes in the lake liked to eat the bait I had thrown at them.

I had not no idea if I had thrown the hook far enough into the lake.

Hell, I had no idea if there was a fish in the lake in the first place. I had not seen one so far.

But I did not care.

I just wanted to do something.

I wanted to be at peace and rest for a while.

I wanted to be forgotten by the world. To not think about anything. Just me and my fishing rod and this beautiful lake.

And then the Walkie talkie started to buzz and I think I heard Big bro's voice for a moment there before I switched it off and threw it into the spatial ring.

Out of sight. And out of mind.

I just want to be left alone in peace.

Though catching a fish on my first try would undoubtedly make me feel very good.

But I knew what I not good at. I was not good at fishing. So I kept me expectations low.

I did not expect to catch a fish on my first try.

I expected the fish that jumped at my face with it's jaws wide open even less.

—————

Have you even seen a fish with large jaw in the face and four grasshopper like legs.

They look ugly as fuck. Not to mention creepy.

I don't know what god wanted to create when he created this thing but I don't think he did a very good job of it.

I mean, they look so creepy that I am pretty sure I will have a nightmare about them for the next few days.

That scene when it jumped at my face and tried to bite my face off will definitely haunt my dreams for a long long time.

Thank the gods of the helmet or it might have even succeeded.

I don't think I'll be wearing a helmet in my dreams. Nope. Definitely not. That's not how dreams work.

In fact, I'm pretty sure I'll be naked as the day I was born in my dreams and there will be hundreds of these little buggers jumping out of the lake to compete for my entrails.

I shook my head of broke out of these unnecessary and unpleasant thoughts.

I lit a fire by the lake side and burned the little bugger on top of it.

I wonder if it's smell would attract the mutant beasts.

I don't think I even care at this point.

Let them come.

Killing them gives me a strange sense of peace as well.

I hummed a little tune as I took out roasted meat and took a bite out of it.

Have you even eaten a fish with large jaw in the face and four grasshopper like legs.

They don't taste so bad.

I think I like mutant fish.

—————

"I was worried about you." She said as she sat beside me and buried herself in my chest.

I sighed as I freed my left hand from her grasp to hug her back while keeping an eye out at the lake.

Six Creepy Buggers have jumped at me so far. (That's right. I've named them creepy buggers.)

I have five Creepy Buggers roasted and smoked for later. The first one has already entered my stomach.

"How did you find me?" I asked in a curious tone. I was definitely feeling very curious. I don't think I left any obvious tracks behind me.

"I've learned how to track while you were gone." She beamed as she looked at me "I even have a skill for it. Big bro gave it to me. It's very helpful."

"Is that so." I patted her head gently. "That's my sweet sister." I said as I basked in this moment when she did not beat the crap out of me for treating her like a child.

I think she was worried about me since I ran away from the camp. All the while being shot at by the guards.

I wonder what Rahul did to those guys who shot at me. I don't think he'll punish them. They did not do anything wrong after all. I don't want him to punish them either.

They were just shooting at someone who murdered their friend in cold blood.

I sighed.

"What's the name of the skill?" I asked.

"Tracker" she said with a deadpanned expression and got a chuckle from me in return.

I don't know who created these skills but whoever did it did not bother much with the names.

"Was it expensive?" I asked.

"Hmm…" she said as she looked at the lake while still hugging me tightly. I think what I did back there freaked her out a bit and now she just wants to make sure that I'm still the person who raised her. Or who was raised by her. I guess it's both. "It was worth 2000 white coins." She added.

"Hmm…" I said and wondered what I should give her.

I mean Big bro gave her a gift so it's only right that I give her one as well.

I also have the right to pamper the little princess in our little family.

I thought for a while and I came up with nothing.

At last, I ran out of ideas and took out a creepy bugger from within the spatial ring and brought it to her face.

I enjoyed her reaction when she jumped away from me in panic and fear and fell into the lake and laughed loudly at her expanse.

I did not enjoy the beating that followed after that as much.

Yep. Creepy Bugger is 'creepy'.
