The next day when I woke up, I realized that all the broken bones in my torso had been fully healed.

My right hand, which had been injured much more badly still needed some time to heal so it's possible that I would not be able to hunt for two or three days.

Or would I?

I looked at my left hand and remembered about last time I fought against the glowing-eye abnormal.

It was a tough fight, but even without my dominant hand, I was able to stall him for a good one minute.

I even killed a 3rd tier abnormal during that time limit with just my left hand.

I wonder how I did that.

As far as I can remember, I had never been an ambidextrous person. So using my left with to swing the sword in such a skilled manner was not something a normal person would have been able to do.

Did the 'Enhanced Human I' evolution made me ambidextrous. Or was I always able to use both my hands and just didn't realize it. I don't know. But whatever it is, it will surely be a big help in the future.

I looked around the room and realized that none of my equipments were in here with me. No defensive suit, no sword, no helmet and no spatial ring.

I wonder if Big bro took them while I was unconscious so that no one could steal it from me.

I stood up and pulled the hospital gown around me tightly.

With the defensive suit, I felt unprotected and naked.

I never knew I would come to rely on that suit so much.

I looked out and was a bit surprised to find that we were in the town we had recently cleared.

I looked down and noticed the blockades created with numerous vehicles and miscellaneous things.

It seemed like Big bro had taken over a block in the eastern part of the town and had blockaded it from the rest for better protection.

I wondered if those blockades would be able to protect us from a glowing-eye abnormal. Probably not.

He would easily jump over those obstacles. Or better yet, just kick those blockades out of his way.

'Like how he did with me.' I thought with a chuckle.

Those blockades will not be able to stop the 3rd tier abnormals either.

Or 2nd tier abnormals for that matter.

Those blockades were only good for 1st tier abnormals.

And since they exist in such large numbers, they would just either push the obstacles out of their way with sheer numbers or climb over the obstacles by climbing over each other's shoulders.

In essence, the only thing those blockades do is give a peace of mind to the denizens of the camp.

'It is more for psychological effect than any physical effect.' I thought and remembered the gate I had kicked down in the last town.

'No use thinking about such things. I thought and looked at the cabinet for something useful.

There was a jeans and a shirt in there.

'Well, it's not my 'Basic Defensive Suit' but it'll do for now.' I thought and wore it without much reservation.

After that I went out of the room and realized that my room was situated in a large corridor which had a lot of other rooms.

'An official building of some kind.' I realized.

Judging by the voices coming from inside them, it seemed like I was not the only one living in this building.

'Now where to find Big bro, or little sis in case she has my stuff.' I thought and started walking but stopped after I crossed the first room.

Inside the room, Jasvinder was sitting in a chair beside the bed and was fast asleep while holding Upma's hand, who was also sleeping peacefully on the bed but with a breathing mask on her face.

Both her hands, one leg and her head were plastered and bandaged heavily.

'It seemed like I was not the only one who got heavily injured in that fight last night.'

Now that I think about it, Gaurav was the person who cut off the other arm of the Glowing-eye abnormal and then got kicked away for his troubles.

It seemed like he died from that kick back there.

'I hope he's not dead. After all the trouble I went through to protect him.'

I walked out of that place in search of Rahul and after asking a few citizens, who cringed a bit at seeing me (remembering the guard incident), I finally found where Ashok had been staying.

And I did not like what I saw when I got there.

—————

"Rahul. What is going on here?" I asked with a bit of frost in my voice as I looked at the scene in front of me.

Rahul was sitting on top of a large stone while monitoring Neha who was sitting on the ground with one hand on the head of an abnormal.

The abnormal being none other than 'Glowing-eye' abnormal who had almost killed me and Gaurav.

It's hands and legs had been cut off, it's lower jaw had been removed, along with it's tongue and it's throat.

But even after getting mutilated so many times, I could see that it was still alive by the small movements in his head.

"Why is it still alive?" I asked with anger seeping in my voice as I tried to take out my sword but realized that I had neither the spatial ring nor the sword in my possession.

"Calm down brother. I'll explain everything to you." Rahul said and jumped down from the stone before he turned to look at Neha and said "Don't lose your focus Neha. Continue with what you have been doing so far."

Neha nodded before she touched the abnormal's forehead once again and closed her eyes, focusing in doing whatever she had been doing so far.

After we went a distance away from Neha and the Glowing-eye abnormal, I turned to look at him and asked "Now. Care to explain what is going on here."

Rahul nodded and said "Very well then. Let me explain."
