"They're all looking for young people to join their academies because theirs are just small academies," Mu Xin remarked without looking at Ye Jiao. "If they don't advertise, they won't be able to get any new students."

Ye Jiao didn't reply back as they entered the center of the city. She could see a large building, which was filled with numerous students in front of her. It was apparent that most of the participants were trying to enter the largest academy, so they wished to know the requirement.

The difference in the view was worlds apart.

"The small ones won't be able to survive without new blood, but they also need to have something special if they wish to succeed," Mu Xin looked over to Ye Jiao. "Everyone wants the best for them, so it's only natural that the smaller ones are weeded out."

"I see."

Even though Ye Jiao understood that, she still felt that it was too bad those academies would have to close down eventually. However, she wouldn't want to sacrifice her future to save an academy when she didn't even know what kind of academy it was.

There was no need for her to be overly compassionate.

"Welcome to Gu Academy," one of the teachers greeted them when he saw them. "May I take a look at your token?"

Their result of the first stage of the examination was recorded in their token. It was to make sure that they didn't cheat and also to keep a record of their own progress. However, they wouldn't be able to see more of the detail aside from their rank from the previous examination.

"Here," Ye Jiao showed her token, which caused the teacher to feel surprised. The color of the token alone was already more than enough to tell him who this little girl was.

She's Ye Jiao, the one who claimed the first place in the previous examination.

"I see, so it's Miss Ye Jiao. Feel free to take a look at the academy."

"Thank you."

Even though Ye Jiao was not used with the preferential treatment that this man gave to her, she still kept her token away. Mu Xin also showed hers, and the teacher checked it before returning it back. His attitude was still respectful, but it was clear that he paid more attention to Ye Jiao.

"Teacher, can you tell more about this academy?"

"Of course," the teacher smiled. "Gu Academy is an academy that focuses on every aspect of students. As we're located in the middle of the kingdom, we can gain access to every other part, except water because it's a bit far from our location. The academy is located inside a forest, where you can find numerous beasts inside."

"Yes, the forests in the Xian Gu Kingdom are filled with beasts from many ranks. They're ranged from the first rank up until the sixth rank."

Ye Jiao's eyes widened when she heard the word 'sixth.' In her entire life, she had never seen any beast above rank 4. After all, facing a rank 4 beast already proved to be a difficult task for her. It would be hard if she had to face stronger beasts, so she didn't really wish to meet them now too.

"Do the students have to fight them?"

"Yes. Every year there'll be a team arranged to scout the forests and…."

As the teacher carefully explained about their activities, Ye Jiao and Mu Xin silently listened. They didn't know that the Xian Gu Kingdom was much richer than what they first expected. There were so many things that occurred in this kingdom.

It took Ye Jiao and Mu Xin nearly all day to finish looking at all five large academies. All in all, they got the overall view of each academy and their own advantages and disadvantages.

"I didn't expect that the Xian Gu Kingdom is especially divided with their region," Ye Jiao commented.

Mu Xin nodded. "I also didn't expect that."

Other places might have their territory more divided and not only focused on one kind of thing. However, it was not the same as the Xian Gu Kingdom. The whole place basically consisted of several regions, with each region spanned millions of kilometers or even more. That was the reason why they were only divided into five areas with nature as the parameter.

"Have you decided where you want to go, Xin Jie?"

"Not yet," Mu Xin replied. Two large academies might be suitable for her, but she couldn't decide yet.

Ye Jiao smiled. "There's no need to hurry. There's still the examination first."

"Right, you should rest, Jiao'er."

"You too, Xin Jie."

The two of them went their separate ways as they headed back to rest by lodging in a nearby inn.

Ye Jiao woke up early the next morning. She quickly prepared herself and headed to the designated location. Mu Xin had also prepared herself and met with Ye Jiao right in front of the inn.

"Good morning, Xin Jie," Ye Jiao greeted cheerfully.

"Good morning. Are you ready?"

"More or less," Ye Jiao replied. She had already rested enough during the night. It was already the time for the second part of the examination. "What do you have in a plan today, Xin Jie?"

"I'll just take a look at the academies and see if there's any that'll interest me," Mu Xin said. "I'll also gather more information for you. That way, you'll also be able to know much more about them."

"Alright. Thank you, Xin Jie."

On their way to the gate, Ye Jiao could see Wei Shang and the others were also on their way. With Wei Yin at the front, she could guess that they were escorting the young girl to participate in the second part.

"I didn't expect to see them here," Mu Xin's air grew colder as she looked at them coldly. Because of Ye Jiao, she never had any good impression of the Wei Family. Even though she had never shown her hostility openly, it was clear that she wished to kill them all. There was a lingering chilling killing intent around her body.

Ye Jiao nodded. "This city must also be open to other people if they accompany their children or representatives."

"I hope he creates trouble."

"What?"

"That way, I have a reason to beat him up," Mu Xin remarked calmly.

Hearing her words, Ye Jiao was stunned. This was the first time she realized that Mu Xin has another side in her. From what she knew, Mu Xin has always been very cold and detached to the world. It was rare for her to show her emotions so openly like this.

Somehow, she felt slightly warm at the thought that Mu Xin cared for her.

"There's no need to do that. I'm sure that he'll receive his retribution too," Ye Jiao chuckled.

"You're not going to kill him?"

"I never clashed with Wei Shang directly except for when he stopped my mother. I already destroyed the future of some of his children, so it's already enough," Ye Jiao replied calmly.

Mu Xin nodded. "If you say that, I'll also not do anything."

"Also, you have your own dream to fulfil, right Xin Jie? Make sure that you can achieve them too," Ye Jiao added.

"Of course."

At this time, the two of them had arrived at the gate. Mu Xin patted Ye Jiao's back to encourage her. "You can do it, Jiao'er."

"Yes, thank you, Xin Jie!"

A lot of people watched as Ye Jiao dashed towards the crowd while Mu Xin still stood in her place. They were confused to see the young girl but soon realized who she was. After all, the event from yesterday had spread out all over the place. No one didn't know who the young girl was.

Mu Xin stayed still in her place. When she turned around, she could see the Wei Family has arrived. They looked like they owned the site with the way they walked. Her eyes turned colder in displeasure.

'They're truly an eyesore.'

As Mu Xin turned around to leave, Wei Yin stepped out of the gate. On the other hand, Wei Shang was looking at Wei Cheng with a huge frown on his forehead.

"You should understand how big of a failure you have made by yourself."

"Yes, Father," Wei Cheng's voice was indifferent, but there was a hint of frustration. He himself knew how close he was to enter the top 100. When he learned that he came in 103, he felt depressed. Just a bit more, and he could participate in the second examination.

Now, it was impossible.

"Work hard to make sure that you don't shame our family," Wei Shang's voice was cold. "We already have too much stain on our reputation."

For the past years, there were numerous messes in their residence. He felt a headache whenever he remembered them all. Even though he had cleaned them all by now, the stain from everything that occurred could not be washed. Too much damage has been done.

"Once you finish your education, return back to the Chen Kingdom."

"Father?" Wei Cheng frowned. He looked at his father with disbelief. It was known that every youngster wouldn't return back to their own kingdom unless there was a catastrophe or they became a disgrace. For his father to ask him to return back, did he want him to stain his own name?

"This is an order, Wei Cheng," Wei Shang's tone was cold.
