Lu AnLing walked out of Kang Jun's room slowly. Before she left she turned around and gave the man a look. It was only a second but from that Lu AnLing spoke to Kang Jun.

The look said, 'I don't want to but I'm leaving you; I'll miss you, but I'll be back.'

Kang Jun reciprocated by giving the girl a faint smile as he watched her leave.

Though Lu AnLing saw a flash of sadness and worry within the man's eyes, she didn't think much about it because she believed it was because she was leaving. In the end, she knew would be back to his side soon.

Once Lu AnLing walked out of the room she grabbed her phone which Rong Lihua held in her hands and then the girl thanked the old woman.

Rong Lihua smiled tiredly and then left the girl to her phone call.

Immediately after Rong Lihua was gone, Lu AnLing's phone began to ring once more. Seeing that it was Sheng, Lu AnLing frowned. The man had called her so many times already she couldn't even count.

Without waisting another second, Lu AnLing answered her phone.

"What's up?" Lu AnLing said nonchalantly as if she hadn't been ignoring his phone calls this whole time.

The girl thought that Sheng would make more of a big deal about it but he didn't. Instead, he just said,

"Guess what?"

Lu AnLing frowned. "Seriously? Can't you just tell me?"

Sheng: "Lu AnLing, you've ignored me for days! Don't make me throw a tantrum. I asked you to guess what, not give me attitude!"

Lu AnLing folded her arm over her chest and clicked her tongue before she spoke,

"Fine. What?"

Sheng: "I did it."

Lu AnLing waited a bit to see if Sheng would elaborate on what 'I did it' meant but the line suddenly went dead.

Being enveloped by the sudden silence caused Lu AnLing to frown.

"Am I suppose to know what that means?" Lu AnLing said

On the other end of the line, Sheng groaned. "Come on, I only needed to do one thing. One! And I did it."

Lu AnLing wasn't in the mood to think about it so she didn't. She just wanted Sheng to tell her.

Lu AnLing: "This might be hard for you to believe but my world doesn't revolve around you, so I don't keep tabs on you."

Sheng snorted on the other side of the line. "Bro you got to fix that brain of yours. We just spoke about this, I don't under—"

"Sheng!" Lu AnLing screamed in her most annoyed voice as she touched her temple. Hearing the pitch of her voice loud and clear through the phone, Sheng flinched.

Lu AnLing: "Please get to the point."

Sheng laughed slightly and then he began to speak, "Yea… so, I got asked to sign a contract with Halo Stars Entertainment."

Hearing this Lu AnLing pursed her lips as she began to analyze what the man had said. A small silence befell them as Lu AnLing's mouth fell open slightly.

Snapping herself out of it, the girl gave a small laugh and then asked curiously, "Sis, you're not serious? You sure you didn't dream this?"

Sheng: "Positive. I did it. So you have to sign with them. No backing out, you promised!"

Lu AnLing nodded her head even if she knew Sheng couldn't see her. "Hmmm, when are you signing the contract?"

"Tomorrow."

Lu AnLing: "Isn't that way too early?"

"Not at all." Sheng said immediately.

"Fine then. I'll sign." Lu AnLing began to laugh.

Life was funny…

After all these years, Lu AnLing could say with certainty that she didn't want to be a singer anymore. It was a dream she had long since decided to forget. Not because she didn't like singing anymore but because she thought that it would interfere with her life in a troublesome way.

But not only that…

It was also because she saw parallels between the entertainment world and the Lu Family. Both places were cruel places to be in, mostly if you had no connections. If a person were to enter them alone and didn't know any better, that person would end up cruelly mistreated and hurt.

Lu AnLing didn't want that to happen to her again. However, with Sheng around, she wouldn't be alone. She trusted the man as much as she trusted herself.

Sheng: "Okay, see you tomorrow then."

Sheng was about to hang up but Lu AnLing quickly stopped him. "Tomorrow? Why?"

"You're signing the contract too," Sheng said in a matter-of-fact tone of voice.

"No!"

Sheng: "You're not allowed to say no. It's decided, so no backing out."

"Wait, I never said I was backing out! I will sign. I promised so I will, but give me some time." Saying this, Lu AnLing's heart palpitated. She wanted to continue her simple carefree life with Kang Jun for just a little longer.

There was a small sudden silence but then, Sheng said,

"I'm only giving you a week."

***

It took Lu AnLing the whole week before she decided to go to Halo Stars Entertainment and sign the contract. Because of this, Sheng had delayed his own signing so they could do it together.

The reason why it took her so long was because Lu AnLing wasn't sure how to tell Kang Jun the news and she was slightly worried about how the man would react to it, but to her surprise, Kang Jun cheered her on.

"If this is what you want to do, I'll support you." The man said to her kindly as they lay in bed together.

The next day, while Lu AnLing still laid cozily in bed, Kang even made sure to reserve a table at Rainbow Valley to celebrate Lu AnLing's achievement. Hearing the man ask Mr. Long to make the reservation almost made Lu AnLing cry. She had never celebrated her achievements before.

The Lu family never believed in celebrating achievements, no matter what it was. They just showered those who they believed to be amazing with love and attention, which Lu AnLing never got.

Though even before, when she was a little girl, her father never brought her to restaurants or did anything big for her when she did something good.

Her father was a strict and diligent man. If he wasn't working, he was learning various things and he expected these things from Lu AnLing also. If she achieved something in school or did something good, it mattered, but it wasn't a matter to celebrate because it was what she should be doing, according to him.

Back then she didn't care much about that kind of stuff because she never knew otherwise but she would be lying if she said she never felt a bit bitter when her friends would tell her about the way they were doted upon when they accomplished something.

Lu AnLing: "Jun… we don't need to celebrate. It's not a big deal."

"Nonsense," Kang Jun said softly as he reached for her hands. He held them gently in his own hands. "You deserve it."

Lu AnLing felt his warmth creep up her arms and wrap around her. For some reason this caused Lu AnLing's eyes to tear up but instead of allowing them to flow, Lu AnLing leaned closer to Kang Jun.

In one swift moment, she planted her lips on Kang Jun's and she kissed him roughly for a moment, until she broke the kiss herself, to say,

"I really want you right now."

Hearing this, Kang Jun's switch was completely turned on. He looked towards the door that lead to the corridor. Quickly, he walked up to it and locked it before he went back to Lu AnLing's side.

Kang Jun kissed Lu AnLing. He matched the roughness of the girl's previous kiss. The man kissed her deeper and deeper until Lu AnLing couldn't help but moan loudly.

Hearing this, Kang Jun was more turned on.

He lifted up her dress and slipped his hand under. His hands moved seductively around every inch of her body and then when he was done touching her with his hands, he began to use his mouth.

Feeling his wet touch like electricity penetrating her body, Lu AnLing shivered.

When Kang Jun felt this, he couldn't help but smile.
