Kang Jun's heart was beating faster due to Lu AnLing's words, which caused him to be speechless.

He wanted to hold the girl but he had to wait until they got back to the bed and breakfast. If he didn't, he feared he would lose himself and they would get arrested for public indecency.

Looking at her from the side of his eye, as soon as he saw the playful smile that appeared on her plump lips, Kang Jun smiled slightly.

Ever since they left T City, it seemed to Kang Jun that Lu AnLing was brighter. He understood why that was. Out of sight, out of mind; at least that's what people said. It was like she was no longer restricted by the rules of those around her. He began to wonder if she was like this in the 6 years they hadn't known each other.

He wondered how it would be like if they had met each other earlier... but then, a thought came to mind.

They had met earlier. Neither Kang Jun nor Lu AnLing seemed to remember it but they did. Though would they have fallen in love back then? Kang Jun doubted the possibility of this. Back then, Lu AnLing was just looking for something to soothe her broken heart and Kang Jun was too busy helping Kang Zhi with company problems; he had no time for love.

Didn't this just mean that they met each other at the right place, at the right time?

Looking at Lu AnLing as she began to doze off with her head on the window, Kang Jun believed so.

Once at the bed and breakfast, Kang Jun carried Lu AnLing to their room. A few couples were out of their rooms and when they laid eyes on Lu AnLing and Kang Jun, they smiled. One woman even elbowed her man and said loudly,

"Why don't you ever do that for me!"

To this, Kang Jun internally laughed.

Kang Jun never paid much attention to those around him, especially when he was with Lu AnLing but that didn't mean he didn't notice. He did but the people around him usually weren't important. But at this moment, their soft gazes eliminated a small bit of insecurity in him.

It was still very early in their relationship but Kang Jun realized that, when it came to company matters, he worked hard. Sometimes too hard. It caused him to be away from Lu AnLing more than he liked. The man knew this and he hoped that this wasn't getting in the way of his love.

As he thought of this, Kang Jun carefully placed her in bed. Then he removed her shoes and her coat so she wouldn't be uncomfortable when she slept.

As he placed her coat on a chair, the man's eyes fell on a bunch of diaries and sketch pads. He wondered what they were so he reached for them, but just as he was about to open one it slipped off the pile and onto the patterning tests. Lifting it up, he looked at the book and then he put his hands upon the paternity test envelops contemplating whether to open it or not.

In the end, Kang Jun ended up putting everything back in place, changing his clothes and going to bed.

He would open it tomorrow. With her.

Before going to bed, Kang Jun took his phone and sent Mr. Long a message.

He sent the photo of him and Tang Bingyi first before he said,

Kang Jun: [Find the source of this photo. Delete all traces of it.]

The next morning Lu AnLing woke up in bed facing an extremely handsome Kang Jun.

Lu AnLing wasn't sure when she had fallen asleep or how she'd gotten in bed for that matter but that didn't matter as she stared at Kang Jun.

Just a couple of nights ago, the girl had not been able to sleep due to her self consciousness but here she was now happy and in love.

It was too good to be true.

Suddenly, Kang Jun's eyes opened.

"Good morning," Lu AnLing said with a smile.

Hearing this, Kang Jun didn't respond to her verbally. Instead, he put his hand on the back of her head and then pulled her head down to kiss her lips.

Not expecting it, Lu AnLing moaned.

She was about to complain that they shouldn't have sex since she was tired from yesterday but she didn't say a word. She just went with his flow until he stopped kissing her and then he said,

"Get ready, we have a long day ahead of us."

Lu AnLing: "Fine, but you shower first. I'm still a little tired."

Kang Jun smirked as then wrapped his arm around her. "We could always shower together."

'How shameless!' Her heart screamed.

Feeling her face warm up. Lu AnLing pushed Kang Jun lightly and said, "go show. Now!"

Hearing the way she said this, Kang Jun chuckled and then said, "Yes Ma'am."

Before leaving Lu AnLing, Kang Jun kissed her on the forehead. Because of him, Lu AnLing was unable to rest. Instead, she went and brought Anna's diaries and sketch pads on the bed and began to look over them again.

Flipping through the pages, Lu AnLing analyzed them in order to see if there were any clues.

As for Anna's diaries, the girl wrote in sloppy cursive so Lu AnLing could barely decipher it. She found this annoying but nothing could be done about it so she threw them aside.

When Kang Jun was done, he walked out of the shower with only a towel on. He had forgotten his clothing in his suitcase. He had half expected to see Lu AnLing's cute blushing face but when he came out, the girl was completely concentrated on a sketch pad in her hands.

Walking over to her, heat resonated from Kang Jun's wet body creating a type of smoky effect.

Lu AnLing didn't notice him at all until she felt a drop of water on her arm. Turning to face Kang Jun's abs, Lu AnLing couldn't help but hold her breath.

"What are you doing?" Kang Jun asked her ignoring the way the girl drooled at the sight of his body.

For a moment the girl just looked at him but then she began explaining to Kang Jun the situation about her friend named Anna.

"So you think she was at Hotel Helios on the same day you were?" Kang Jun repeated just to confirm.

"Uh huh," Lu AnLing said as she flipped through the sketch pad. Once she found the picture of Hotel Helios she handed it to Kang Jun and said, "Look, it's Hotel Helios on the same week I was there."

Thinking back to the date stamp on the footage Kang Jun had watched, his mind said, 'It's the same day...'

Frowning, Kang Jun pointed to the diaries by Lu AnLing's side. "What's that?"

"Diaries. I can't read it though. Anna's writing is horrible..."

Kang Jun sat down beside the girl despite being a bit wet and then he said, "hand it to me."

Lu AnLing did as said.

Looking over the words in the diary, Kang Jun frowned and squinted.

Curious to whether Kang Jun would be able to read it, Lu AnLing approached Kang Jun. Her breasts pressing against his arm. Because of this, the man was a bit distracted so it took him much longer to analyze the text but he wasn't about to tell Lu AnLing to move.

"Can you read it?" She asked him cutely.

Kang Jun nodded.

Now, he just needed to find the right dates. Though as he flipped through the diary he realized that these diaries were only those written by this Anna girl while she was in the institution and not before.

Realizing this, the man frowned. Then he looked over the text once more. Seeing something strange, he brought it to Lu AnLing's attention and asked,

"What's this?"

The 'this', Kang Jun was referring to was a star, a number and the letters TWZ at the side.

Looking at it, Lu AnLing furrowed her eyebrows. "I think I've seen this before."

Quickly, Lu AnLing grabbed a couple of sketch pads. As soon as she opened one, on the first drawing on the first page, she saw the same symbol and letters but the number was different.

She turned the pages until she found the exact symbol, number, and letters. She showed Kang Jun the page.

It was the picture of the Eiffel Tower. Seeing this, Kang Jun hurriedly turned to the diary.

Reading it in his mind first, Kang Jun's expression changed slightly. Lu AnLing quickly spotted this.

Kang Jun: "I went to the Eiffel Tower that day. It would have been a shame if I didn't. After that day, my freedom would be taken away from me and I'll be forced to stay at a recovery institution..."

Knag Jun stopped reading and then turned to Lu AnLing. "It seems like she was writting a memoir of sorts."

Hearing this, Lu AnLing's face darkened.

How could she have been so stupid! Of course, Anna would have done something like that. Thegirl never did anything without reason and when she did things, they would need to be logically organized.

Lu AnLing remembered that Anna was a bit OCD when it came to organization. In their room, nothing would ever be out of place. She would even get annoyed sometimes when Madame Durand or any of the nurses would come to check up on them a minute late...

Looking for the picture of Hotel Helios, Lu AnLing felt as if a huge mystery was about to be revealed before her eyes. When she found the page she checked for the number.

"Can you find star symbol, 17, TWZ?" Lu AnLing asked Kang Jun, all excited.

She couldn't wait anymore. She wanted to know what was going on but when she turned to Kang Jun, she saw that he was reading another page zealously.

"Jun?"

Hearing her voice, he snapped out of it. "Star symbol, 17, TWZ? I will. Could you look for heart symbol, 1 and 2, TWB..."

Without asking why, Lu AnLing did as he said.

It didn't take Lu AnLing long to find what Kang Jun wanted. Looking at it, Lu AnLing was a bit shocked at how Anna was able to draw a self-portrait of herself, then she turned the page. Seeing the new picture, Lu AnLing looked at it with a sad expression as she passed her hand over the graphite.

"What did you read?..." Lu AnLing asked.

Kang Jun stopped searching for what the girl had asked for and he looked at her. Lu AnLing kept her eyes firmly glued to the picture.

"She wrote that she was already 7 months pregnant and coming to the institution. That she was afraid of what would happen when she gave birth to her child..."

Hearing this, Lu AnLing felt her heart sink. She had felt the exact same feeling but after the fact. Anna had the time to contemplate her child being ripped away from her time and time again...

Tears fell down Lu AnLings cheek but she quickly wiped them away.

Kang Jun had seen this happen and he immediately threw the diary away and began to coax the girl.

"You know... I saw her give birth. I was in the room. She was scared and she didn't let go of my hand." More tears fell down Lu AnLing's face but this time, she smiled and gave a dry laugh. "I was actually able to hold her child before she did... and even before I could hold my own..."

Lu AnLing cried harder despite trying her best to stop. Seeing her so frail and broken made Kang Jun's whole world shake. Though he wasn't sure how to comfort her. She had lost her children... he could see how much their kidnapping had scarred the girl, but that didn't mean she would never see them again. The man swore that he would find them and bring them back to her side.

Kang Jun: "How about we rest for a bit before we continued looking?"

Initially, Kang Jun had planned a romantic day full of sightseeing but the search for her —possibly their— child was more important.

Hearing the man's words Lu AnLing shook her head. She then pushed herself off of Kang Jun's chest and said,

"We should do more research for now."

Hearing this, Kang Jun nodded and continued to look for what she had asked for. When he had found it, he drew Lu AnLing's attention to him and then, he began to narrate.

Kang Jun: "I might regret what I was about to do for the rest of my like but at the moment, I needed the money and my new benefactor had paid a hefty price for my services. If only life had remained simple as it had been three years ago. If only I could have still been young, innocent and in love. But who was I kidding... that man never loved me. I was just a useful asset. Looking up at the golden Hotel walls, I couldn't help but wonder how my life would have been if I hadn't fallen in love. I think I would have been happier."

"What is she about to do? Who's this benefactor? Who's the man she's talking about?" Lu AnLing asked no one in particular.

"Your friend doesn't give many details about that kind of thing. Either way, as I understand, everyone in her diary has a type of nickname. Even you..." Suddenly Kang Jun flipped the pages until he found what he was looking for and then he began to read. "I gave birth yesterday, Alina was by my side. She held my hand and comforted me. It's as if she had experienced this before. Alina is such a sweetheart..."

Lu AnLing nodded her head and said, "She once told me that I resembled her older sister, Alina. Anna told me that she had passed away before she came to the institution... did she say anything else?"

Kang Jun kept on reading from where he had left off. "It's strange, Alina is so much younger than me and yet, she seems like mother material already while I am nowhere close. As I write this, she is cradling my child and the child is smiling at her with so much love. I feel jealous but it's better this way, that child will be taken from me soon I might as well not get attached."

Lu AnLing pursed her lips. She remembered that time. She was so sad and so happy to hold a child and she was so sleep deprived that somewhere in her she thought that the child she cradled was her own.

"What was the gender of her child?" Kang Jun said.

"A boy." Lu AnLing grabbed the sketch pad and handed it to Kang Jun. "Take a look."
