Once Lu Shuya was gone, Xu Shen, Lu Duyi, and Kang Liang were going to follow after her but Lu AnLing forcefully stopped her laughter and then she said,
"I still have something important to speak to you guys about..."
Hearing this, everyone froze.
Lu AnLing then stared at Xu Shen and said, "I don't know if my mom told you yet, but my dad is alive."
Xu Shen hesitated to say anything for a second, but then he took a breath and looked at Lu AnLing deep in her eyes. "I'm happy for you, truly, but..."
"Why did I think he was dead?" Lu AnLing said as if filling in the blanks.
Lu AnLing was then about to explain her situation to all those in the room, but then, Lu Xiaoling interjected.
"Let me explain." Lu Xiaoling said with a sigh and then she began to explain the whole debacle. Or at least everything she knew about it. She had been holding off on telling anyone about Tang Yian because she did not know what to say or how to say it... though deep down, it was truly because she was afraid...
Hearing what had happened and how it caused Lu AnLing so much pain and suffering, Xu Shen was angered beyond belief. It was something that Lu AnLing had never seen on the man's face and it caused her heart to warm.
Xu Shen truly loved Lu AnLing as his own daughter. Even Lu Duyi was shocked by his father's expression but he pushed it out of his mind since he himself was angry.
"What the hell is wrong with that aunt of yours?!?" Lu Duyi screamed in anger. "You're going to get revenge on her right!?"
Lu AnLing shrugged.
"Yea... maybe. I just don't want my friend getting hurt. But I'm totally going to destroy Tang Yiling. Every time I see her I just get so annoyed..." Lu AnLing said as she turned her hand into a fist.
Meanwhile, remembering that Lu AnLing did not really have many friends, Kang Liang thought for a second.
"Friend? As in Tang Bingyi...?" Kang Liang almost whispered as he looked at Lu AnLing blankly, Kang Liang said, "Oh god... you're a Tang..."
Putting her hands on her hips, Lu AnLing frowned. "Why does everyone always say that with so much shock? Am I not amazing enough to be a Tang?"
Kang Liang laughed dryly and then he put his hands up innocently. "Actually, it makes perfect sense considering how talented you are in music. It's part of your blood I guess."
"Blood? Maybe." Lu AnLing shrugged. "My father was a real hard ass. I used to practice for hours and hours. I played the guitar until my fingers bled... rather than blood. It was hard work and perseverance. Talent can only take me so far."
Hearing this, Kang Liang nodded. When it came to music, Lu AnLing was always a breath of fresh air.
"Anyways... that's not the point, here. My dad doesn't remember me, so I'm going to make him remember me at Elder Tang's birthday party. I'm going to force him if I have to..." Lu AnLing said as a faraway look appeared in her eyes and then she looked at her mother and said, "But for this to work well, I need you to be there mom..."
Hearing this, Lu Xiaoling's heart skipped a beat and her face twisted slightly... Deep down, she still loved Tang Yian, but along the years, a layer of hate had grown in her also. She truly didn't know if she wanted to see him or not...
She was scared of ruining the life she had now, but at the same time, she was afraid that if she didn't face Tang Yian, she would never truly be free of her hate.
Fear was something that Lu Xiaoling rarely felt. She had spent so much time ignoring it, after all, so she wasn't sure what to say, but then, Lu Xiaoling felt Xu Shen's hand on her shoulder, which caused her to jump slightly.
"You should go." Xu Shen said truthfully.
Hearing him say this, Lu Xiaoling felt extremely bad. Lu Xiaoling knew that once upon a time Xu Shen had loved her very much, but she had never been able to reciprocate it. However, despite that, Xu Shen was always kind to her. So kind, in fact, that it was suffocating...
Lu Xiaoling always felt like the bad guy with him. Like a lower being...
She remembered when she had first met Xu Shen. Her father had chosen him for Lu Xiaoling even before she had run away to be with Tang Yian. Back then, she hadn't accepted but once she had come back home, she had had no choice but to accept. But still... this didn't mean that she would have another child and Xu Shen accepted this without complaint.
He wouldn't force Lu Xiaoling into anything and she was thankful for this, but considering that Lu Xiaoling was the one who lived in the Lu Family home, not seeing any grandchildren around made her father unhappy.
Xu Shen was being scolded by the man day in and day out. He was once accused of being impotent!
One day, Lu Xiaoling had gone to her father and said, "Father, stop it! I don't want to have a child. It has nothing to do with Shen, so please, leave him alone."
Hearing this, Grandpa Lu had glared at Lu Xiaoling and said, "What type of woman doesn't want to have children?"
Feeling pain in her heart as she remembered Lu AnLing.
After a while, Lu Xiaoling's father had been successful in pressuring her and so she had had a child with Xu Shen, and after Lu Shuya was born, the pressure had stopped for a while. But after a while, her father once again pressured her to have another child.
"The lest you could do is bear a son," Grandpa Lu had said, as if it was Lu Xiaoling's fault that the Lu family had been barren of sons...
Truly, her father used to be a nice man, but after Lu Xiaoling had run off with Tang Yian, he had changed completely and Lu Xiaoling understood why.
Lu Xiaoling was always the one who did everything her father wanted of her. She was 'daddy's little girl' but after falling in love with Tang Yian, that had changed.
She didn't care about anything so she quickly eloped.
That year she had spent with Tang Yian were sometimes blissful, sometimes horrendous and sometimes, Lu Xiaoling had experienced intense emotions of all kinds and she was by no means like the unfeeling woman she was today... This was because living with Xu Shen was the opposite of how it was living with Tang Yian.

Xu Shen had given her all that she had ever dreamed of as child and Lu Xiaoling couldn't say that he didn't make her happy, but Tang Yian had never left her heart, so she looked at Lu AnLing and said, "Okay, but I..."
Seeing how her mother slightly leaned closer to Xu Shen, Lu AnLing said, "If you want, I'll find a way to get everyone invited, is that okay?"
Hearing this, Lu Xiaoling gulped and said, "Yes. That would be for the best. Now, where is this suppose to take place?"
Lu AnLing leaned lovingly against Kang Jun and then she smirked before she said, "I'll send you the address when I find out."
