When her family left, Lu AnLing, Kang Mei Xue, Kang Mingyu, Kang Jun and Kang Liang were still gathered at the front door. Lu AnLing was going to recommend they sit and chat over tea but then, Kang Jun turned to his wife and kissed her on the cheek.

"Can you give me a moment with him?" Kang Jun said politely.

Hearing this, Lu AnLing was not taken aback. She just assumed that they would talk about the whole 'not actually being siblings' thing so Lu AnLing took the hands of both children and the three happily made their way upstairs.

After this, Kang Jun accompanied Kang Liang to his study. Once inside, Kang Jun closed the door and said,

"What's wrong?"

Hearing this, Kang Liang gulped and said, "I have some bad news..."

Kang Jun frowned. He was tired of bad news.

Kang Jun: "Speak."

"First of all, that asshole Qiao is alive... he woke up from his coma. I saw Qiao Lan visiting him and I heard his trash voice." Kang Liang said with complete contempt. He didn't hide his hate for the Qiao's. He never did, and he never was.

To his words, Kang Jun nodded but he didn't say a word. He just allowed Kang Liang to continue speaking.

"Also, I think my mom might have been involved with Qiao Lan's dad..." Kang Liang said with disgust.

Hearing this, Kang Jun frowned and then he said, "How do you know?"

"I heard Qiao Lan asking about my mom to that old asshole, and I heard some stuff about my mom being connected to her dad... I already know that my mom was driven out by the Qiao's but I didn't... not even for a second... believe that she had ever done something wrong..." Kang Liang's eyes suddenly grew dark as he clenched his fists. "What if my mom did do something with Su Bai... what if I'm not a Kang at all?"

Kang Liang wasn't particularly worried about this fact before. Or at least, he hadn't realized that he was. But now, as he spoke, things he hardly wanted to think about came to light and it made his whole body shake.

It's true that he had been all calm and confident before when he was saying that, no matter what, he and Kang Jun would still be family even if they were blood-related or not, but this was more for himself rather than for Kang Jun.

Seeing this, Kang Jun understood the boy in an instant.

"Look, you said it before. We will always be family. Blood or not..." Kang Jun started. As he spoke, Kang Liang raised his head and looked into Kang Jun's clear eyes. They were no longer icy. They were just like the calm sea.

"Are you sure...?" Kang Liang asked with slight hesitation.

"Of course... because, to tell you the truth..." For once, Kang Jun hesitated in front of Kang Liang. "I'm not a Kang."

Hearing this, Kang Liang's face didn't twist. He just stared deeply at his brother and calmly asked, "How do you know?"

"My mother told me." Kang Jun said to Kang Liang. Then Kang Jun approached the man slowly and stopped right in front of him and said, "Are we no longer family now?"

Kang Liang wanted to ask more questions, but frankly, it wasn't necessary... And as he thought this, he felt tears sting the corner of his eyes and his breath become slightly erratic.

Did this revelation erase the times he spent with Kang Jun? No.

Did this revelation change how Kang Liang felt about Kang Jun? No.

So the answer was clear...

"Of course not!" Kang Liang screamed as he reached to hug Kang Jun.

Kang Liang knew how Kang Jun was, so he half expected the man to either block him from hugging him or that Kang Jun would rip him off of him, but Kang Jun did no such thing. He just allowed Kang Liang to hold him and then he spoke.

Kang Jun: "I'll help you figure out what's going on with your mother but after Trailblazers. I have many things to do, but for now, let's take things one step at a time."

Letting go of his brother, Kang Liang nodded. "I'm going to go find out who drugged you... and then, after then, I'll find clues about my mom. Thank you..."

Kang Jun cocked his head, "For what?"

"For being here for me..." Kang Liang said.

Kang Liang never liked sharing his problems with anyone. But for the longest time, Kang Jun had been his closest confidant. Though It wasn't because they were brothers, it was because Kang Jun, despite being cold, listened, no matter how annoying Kang Liang was...

It did not take long for the day of Elder Tang's birthday party to come. On that day, Lu AnLing found herself in Kang Manor, partially stressing about the events that would transpire that day...

"What if my plan fails...?" Lu AnLing said as she paced around her and Kang Jun's room as the man put on his clothes.

He had just gotten out of the shower so his hair and body was slightly wet.

"It won't." Kang Jun said as he walked towards her without a shirt. He then put his arms around her and pressed her onto his bare chest. "And if it does, we'll try again and again, to make sure he remembers you."

Hearing this, Lu AnLing smiled and she leaned back against his chest and then she looked up towards his face.

"We don't have time for that." Lu AnLing said simply. "I just want to get all the loose ends in my life tied up so that we can leave and live a quieter life."

Kang Jun held Lu AnLing's waist and then he bent down slightly to kiss her passionately on the lips.

Their kiss was not short and sweet. It was long and full of love and passion.

Kang Jun knew that today was going to be hard for his wife, and so, he made sure to give her all the love and care she needed before the event started.

When their kiss ended, Lu AnLing turned around and hugged Kang Jun tightly, nuzzling her cheek against Kang Jun's bare chest.

At first, she hadn't fully realized that he was half naked but now, she did, so she pushed herself off of him slightly and then she began to lick his chest.
