Hearing the name 'Miss Lu', the majority of the room was completely confused.
Was Kang Jun about to introduce a new executive director? Or maybe a consultant? The whole room was curious so they all looked towards the door curiously.
They had expectation. Many, in fact. They expected a beautiful woman with a pencil skirt, glasses and a high bun, but when Lu AnLing walked in, accompanied by Mr. Long, the grand majority of them were disappointed.
When Lu AnLing had first begun to come in, the executives minds were full of fantasies but once Lu AnLing, who wore form fitting black jeans and a pink hoodie ,had walked in, as if she had just been exercising, many of them frowned.
On that day, Lu AnLing had been relaxing at home with the kids. She was enjoying her time with them, but she ended up feeling very very sick as the day went by. It was morning sickness, she knew this, but the kids didn't and so, as they continued to get wilder and wilder, Lu AnLing felt sicker and sicker.
After a while, she just couldn't take it. The morning sickness made her feel disgusting and the only thing that could stop it was her sudden craving for chocolate cake. And so, after leaving the kids with Elder Kang, she had gone to get a bunch of sweets.
Once she had gotten them, Lu AnLing's mind had immediately wandered to Kang Jun and so, she went to visit her husband in the hopes of eating the cake with him.
Walking in and seeing the executives, Lu AnLing felt her heart palpitate and her face redden. She bowed to the executives and said a small hello before she walked over to Kang Jun.
Still blushing, Lu AnLing, who frowned, bent down to whisper in Kang Jun's ear and said, "If you were busy, I could have waited, you know?"
Kang Jun smiled. "Why would I make you wait? If someone should wait, it should be these useless executives."
Lu AnLing tried her best to continue frowning but she couldn't help but crack a small smile, "That's not a very nice thing to say..."
"The truth is rarely nice." Kang Jun said shamelessly.
Kang Jun had no shame when it came to his wife... or really anything, for that matter. But it was truly when Lu AnLing was concerned that he threw away any semblance of shame out the window.
Kang Jun and Lu AnLing spoke as if there was no one in the room but each other, and meanwhile, many of the executives just stared at Kang Jun blankly.
Though, despite their faces, internally the ones who didn't know who Lu AnLing was were very confused.
Watching them from the sidelines, Mr Long sympathized with them. He remembered when he had first witnessed the Kang Jun that appeared when Lu AnLing was around... it was the most shocking thing he'd ever witnessed but in time it became normal.
Kang Jun was in fact a mortal! But mortal only for a moment...
Seeing the way his executives looked at him and Lu AnLing from the corner of his eyes, Kang Jun shot a steely gaze towards the group of mostly men and women who sat in front of him. He looked at them like they were nothing, as if trying to prove a point and then, he said,
"This is my wife."
Hearing this, the room remained deathly quiet but inside, the executives who did not know anything about Kang Jun's marriage could not help but feel their worlds implode.
The ice demon, Kang Jun, was able to get married?!? And to such a normal looking girl, at that?! They were in complete shock.
Thought this didn't last long because after showing their shock, they all began greeting Lu AnLing, making sure to use the honorific, 'young Madame Kang'.
Seeing this reaction, Kang Jun knew that he had gotten what he wanted.
The employees of the Kang corporation knew Kang Jun's personality. When he was in a happy mood he was quiet, when he was in an okay mood, he was strict and when he was in a bad mood, whole departments could meet their ends. Kang Jun was not to be trifled with and if possible, the ones who worked under Kang Jun, tried their best so that the man never got into a bad mood.
If someone was truly aiming for Lu AnLing's life, they were most likely not affiliated with the employees of the company since they knew his temper. And they, just then, had seen how much he loved his wife. This just meant that if any harm happened to Lu AnLing, they knew that they would experience a living hell.
Knowing this, Kang Jun knew that they would do anything to help Lu AnLing out. This included helping her or saving her if any harm were to come her way. They would put their lives on the line for it, because they knew Kang Jun would reward them in two ways; with money, and with a stable work environment.
It was like having his own small army who would do anything for him.
Kang Jun needed this right now.
Sure, the Kang family had a private army and a whole bunch of bodyguards but in the lot of them, Kang Jun didn't know anyone he could trust with his wife's life. The only exception was Rong Xin, but Rong Xin was also someone who Kang Jun had promised Kang Zhi he would take care of and protect. But not only that, but Rong Xin and Lu AnLing we're cousins of sorts, and so, she would be devastated if anything happened to him.
This was a bit conflicting because Kang Jun knew that he couldn't allow harm to come to the man.
After the executives had finished greeting Lu AnLing, the meeting was adjourned and so, all the executives left but as they did, they looked back to Lu AnLing and Kang Jun with slight disbelief, but they knew Kang Jun had spoken the truth.

Kang Jun smiled and then he pulled his wife towards him. Understanding him perfectly, Lu AnLing sat in his lap before she pressed her soft pink lips on Kang Jun's.
Their kiss began as innocent and gentle, but without warning Lu AnLing bit Kang Jun's lip. Feeling the passionate sensation, Kang Jun put his hand in his hair and then he pushed her closer to him as he slipped his tongue into her mouth.
Their tongues intertwined as their bodies heated against each others touch.
Feeling heat rise up from her core, Lu AnLing broke the kiss and then she began to pout.
Seeing her cute expression, Kang Jun touched her face gently, "What's wrong?"
Lu AnLing frowned hard when he said this and then she said, "I only came here to give you cake... how did we end up kissing?"
Kang Jun couldn't help but burst out in laughter.
Hearing this, Lu AnLing frowned a bit more. "It's not funny! Were you always this attractive? You're such a seducer. I can't resist!"
With that said, Kang Jun flashed her a devilish smirk and then he brought her waist closer to him. "I'm happy I can still seduce you. I was afraid that you'd become immune to my handsomeness."
Lu AnLing shook her head and pouted a bit more. She was acting like a child, she knew this, but she couldn't stop herself.
Seeing her cuteness, Kang Jun held her tightly in his embrace. He loved his wife, and he would sure as hell protect her with all his might.
