The sun was preparing itself to rise above the Feng family's mansion, hence the sky was lighting up in different shades of dark purple almost as dark as night but with a mixture of orange and pink. The sky was indeed pretty, but someone else had caught his eyes more than the morning bliss.

Her eyes were shut closed tightly, but peacefully. There was some sort of tranquillity that was excluding out from her while she slept. She looked harmless, not that she could be any sort of dangerous or be able to fight.

It had been a while since Jun Kai was up and was staring at her face or rather observing every inch of her. He had never seen Mi Rong sleep, to be more specific, in his arms. His arms were still wrapping her inside his embrace and was breathing warm tickling breaths around his neck.

She had always been or seemed so distant away from him before, but now, she was so close. No one had ever been this close to him other than his wife. However, those memories of his past seemed to slowly fade away. Was that how some people would fade away, in our thoughts? But he never thought that a day like this would come.

When he would truly fall for another. He had kept himself from her, but it looked like the fates did not think likewise. She always there, beside him.

If anyone would ask him how had he fallen for this person in his arms, well, he did not have an answer for that. All he could say was the seed had planted in his heart and bloomed. Though there was something else about Mi Rong that he must have forgotten or a vision so misty that he could not figure out what it was. Like they had been this close before, somewhere or somehow.

He gently touched her uniquely carved lips; from the corner to the centre of it. Soft. It was one word he could think of.

Which brought him to their deep kiss last night, just by the thoughts of it, he could feel a small surge of electric waves rush through his entire body.

All he did was smile. This smile of his was rarer than any gem. His smile brightened up and took away the fatigue from the night before.

Softly, he arose from the bed. He made sure that she would not be disturbed by his movement and soon he headed his way out from his bedroom. He made his way to his bathroom from across his big room and showered himself in a hot bath.

Jun Kai changed his clothes in a pair of casual long black trousers and to go with it a black jumper over his top. His hair that was as long as his chin was still slightly wet as he casually left his hair in its own nature.

He walked out from the bathroom and was met with his office and inside the room was a table that had a coffee machine with all the equipment to make a hot scrumptious drink for the morning. He was swift and soon was holding a cup of coffee walking outside of his room to his balcony to sit down.

As he sat, all of the weariness and fatigue from last night seemed to slowly resurface even though he had just showered. His mother's words were still lingering in his mind and were making its way all over his thoughts again. What should he do now? Should he still search for her?

However, his thoughts jolted back when he heard Mi Rong footsteps draw closer. She walked outside of his room half sleepy but awake and joined him at the neatly organized table and chairs. Her hair was slightly messy but since her hair had been so silky that it did make any much difference.

Mi Rong walked in her same clothes and sat down. Now that she was closer to him, Jun Kai could see some drops of water dripping along her cheek. She must have washed her face before coming outside; weirdly he had not heard any footsteps of hers.

As Mi Rong sat down in the seat in front of Jun Kai, she could see him looking slightly tired with some dark circles underneath his eyes, but it did not reduce his usual aloof air. His long medium hair was slightly wet and some parts were beginning to dry up but it did not make him look bad, well what would make him look bad? Presumably, nothing, nothing that he could pull off with that kind of face.

He smiled at gently like a fine wonderful line of smile was drawn on his face.

"Mi Rong…""Mi Rong?" A voice called her awake from her daze. She had realized that she had been staring at his face this whole time.

Mi Rong blinked and retreated her eyes back. Sigh, what was she thinking of...

Jun Kai stood up and asked to change the subject, "Would you like some coffee?" He asked nicely.

To which Mi Rong replied, "Do you have tea?"

Of course tea, Jun Kai thought to himself, "I'll get you some."

"Thank you."

Not long, Jun Kai returned with another cup, this time tea. Not that he did not like drinking tea. It was just not enough to keep his body going throughout the day. On the other hand, the person in front of him seemed to particularly enjoy it very much. Wonder where she had gotten this habit from. Nevertheless, he brought green tea in a mug that had hot steams coming out from it.

"There you go."

"Hm. Nice fragrance." Mi Rong replied contently. Tea would be just nice to keep her stomach warm in the morning.

Now that the two sat in front of each other, they became silent. There seemed to be some awkwardness between the two, but it was barely visible for both were simply sipping their tea away without speaking.

Mi Rong did not like this kind of quietness and looked up from her tea. She observed his expressions and could see nothing much but tiredness. His face seemed slightly pale now that she could see clearly.

Before she spoke, she cleared her throat and began asking, "Last night, what happened to you?"

Jun Kai, slightly taken aback when she spoke, but only heaved a small sigh.

At first, Mi Rong had thought he was not going to answer her question as he would use to but things have changed slightly.

"It's my mother." Addressing to what had happened, he replied shortly.

Though at first, Mi Rong contemplated whether or not to ask Jun Kai's family matters when it was not hers, she continued to speak, "Did something to her?" Jun Kai had only told it was about his mother but had not told her any details.

"No, it's just..." his voice trailing of the last few words.

Mi Rong tilted her head slightly, "Just what?"Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click www.webnovel.com for visiting.

Just that I was a useless son, but he did not say it aloud. His lips were tightened in a firm line. Instead, he spoke, "It would have been great if I could introduce you to my mother properly. I believe you two might just get along fine just like how you've gotten along with grandmother." Despite speaking of a special occasion, his eyes were awfully sad.

Mi Rong could see his pain and felt like she was experiencing it herself, "Look, whatever happens, have good faith in yourself. At least, that would help you find her."

Jun Kai looked up from his coffee, "What if I have no faith in myself anymore?" He was showing his other side of himself to her. Revealing all his concealed emotions that he had been trying to keep away from the eyes of others. He had been so accustomed of do it in the past, but in front of this person, she would always crack open his heart without realizing.

Mi Rong held her reassurance in her eyes, "I have faith in you and so does your mother. You can't just give up, now. Whatever happens, at least, you've tried your best." There was some relief, comfort, and light appearing in Jun Kai's expression, but she could see there was still something on his mind. Nevertheless, she spoke nothing else; she was not going to push him too far.

There was some silence again between the two, but Mi Rong gave him some time to rethink.

"Mi Rong." He finally spoke.

"Hm?" She answered almost immediately.

"Thank you."

This time Mi Rong revealed a gentle smile. The person smiling might not have known it, but Jun Kai who saw her smile like this to him for the first time was slightly mesmerized by it.

Her smile was gentle as the sunlight was peeking on her face making her skin tanner and sparkling with the morning sun. By now, Mi Rong's smile was frozen in amidst Jun Kai's daze. Deep inside, she could help but feel a lightness in her body like she was floating.

The flower in her heart was slowing blooming open.

"Jie!" A cry came out from behind.
