A week after Rico's win, one afternoon, Lucas arrived from work, and as he and his family eat dinner, he announced to his family: he'll take them to High Snow City, a big city located in the Kama Bino Mountain Range, the only the mountain range in the Philas Region to have snow year round, for a five-day vacation. Everyone in the house was excited at his surprise.

Then, the next day, it became true. They packed up, and flew to High Snow City by a two-engine, jet plane. Once arrived, they all went to a luxury resort and hotel, complete with hot springs. Later, at their hotel room, as his parents unpacked their bags, Rico, staring at the mild falling snow outside his window, thought, "Jonathan, I hoped you would see this." He then turned around, and went to unpack his own bags.

Later, at 11:34 a.m., the family went to the dining hall to eat lunch. After that, they went to the city to explore and experience. At this point, Rosario is revealed to have a Sylveon, a Fairy-Type Pokèmon, and a Azumarill, a Water and Fairy-Type Pokèmon; Lucas, on the other hand, had a Samurott, a Unova water-type Pokèmon, a Magneton, an Electric and Steel-type Pokèmon, and a male Unfezant, a Normal and Flying-Type Pokèmon.

High Snow City is a large metropolitan city in the mountains. It sits between the mountains at an elevation of over 2,990 feet. The buildings are semi-modern and cultural, with an ancient wooden and stone tower for Regice, a legendary Titan of Pokèmon. There are areas where snow can be used for skiing, snowboarding, training Pokèmon, etc. The common fruit there is strawberry. Also, others like Curry, Hot Chocolate, Coffee, etc. In the northernmost part of the mountains is the Penguin Island, where tourists can see Piplups, Prinplups, and Empoleons inhabiting a small, ice-covered island.

Later, at afternoon, the family and their Pokèmon went to the snow slopes for a skiing experience. They rented skiing equipments for a price of 250 Pokedollars. At the skiing slopes, they slide down the slopes, while most of their Pokèmon rode with them. One, two, and more times they go up and down. Later, while he was training his Riolu and Litleo in the snow and ice, Rico encountered Dawn, in winter clothes and with skiing equipment, again. Upon seeing each other, they smiled in happiness and reunion.

"Hi, there, Rico," Dawn happily greeted.

"Hi, there, Dawn," Rico greeted back. Rico's Pokèmon then stopped their training, and looked at their trainer.

"Woah, you had a new Pokèmon?" Dawn asked Rico upon seeing Litleo.

"Yes," Rico happily retorted, "That's a Litleo." In response, Dawn checked in her Pokedex, but since Litleo was introduced in the Kalos region, after Unova and Sinnoh, so her Pokedex just responded, "No information."

"Oh, never seen one before," Dawn calmly commented.

"This Pokèmon is believed to had been discovered first at a region named Kalos," Rico brightly explained.

"Oh, I see why," Dawn replied.

Later, they went to the ski resort's lodge and restaurant for a hot snack. Their Pokèmon, however, are eating at a special area exclusively for Pokèmon. Their snack are hot potatoes, carrots, and tamato berry salad, yellow curry, freshly baked macarons, and two cups of hot chocolate. Then, as they eat and then, Rico took a tamato berry bit and eat it; suddenly, he felt spicy, turning his head red, and then, breath fire for a few seconds. Their Pokèmon then looked at them in attention.

"Ah!" Rico exclaimed as he felt spicy still, "Water! Water! Water!" The latter response, however, was a similar line to chants of Hoopa. Then, just as expected in emergency, Dawn was quickly alerted, and called a waiter to give him water. Moments later, the waiter came back with a tall glass of water with ice cubes, and gave it to Rico. Rico then drink it immediately, even melting the ice in the process. His head turned back to normal. Once cooled down, Rico thanked Dawn and the waiter for the glass of water.

"You're welcome, sir," the waiter brightly replied, "Be careful with the tamato berry next time;" he then left their table.

"Are you okay, Rico?" Dawn asked him in worry.

"Yeah," Rico replied in apology while scratching his head, "It's okay, I had eaten this dish hundreds of times."

"Oh, okay," Dawn calmly replied; she and Rico then resumed their meal.

Later, as the sun sets over the mountains, Rico and Dawn are looking at the golden sunset in the Lodge's balcony while holding hands, as if they were in romance. Their Pokèmon, Riolu, Litleo, and Prinplup, are watching them from behind next to a pillar.

"Wow, Rico," Dawn commented in loving smoothness, "This is beautiful."

"Yeah, right," Rico replied in loving smoothness, "I love sunsets, and sunrises, too."

"Yeah," Dawn retorted in soothing style. Then, as they are having a quiet time, Red Eye and his grunts, on their Z.Z. Flyers, interrupt and intervened their quiet and lovely scene. Their Pokèmon then posed retaliations against them.

"Hi, there, kid," one of Red Eye's grunts greeted in semi-smooth style. Upon turning around to see them, the two kids got upset in seriousness and resentment.

"Oh, not you guys again," Rico sharply retorted.

"Oh, you mean people," Dawn added as she clenched her left fist.

"What do you want from us?" Rico responded in demanding.

"Oh, you know," Red Eye retorted in carefree, "To steal your Pokèmon, and that new Pokèmon, which I had never seen it before."

"Then we won't let you!" Rico loudly retorted in response. Riolu and Litleo then responded in retorting and resisting.

"Me too!" Dawn added.

"Ugh!" Red Eye retorted in annoyance and frustration, "You puny kids! That's it! We'll do it by force!" He then called out his Cranidos; his two grunts, in turn, called out their Pokèmon, Vanillish, two Vanillishes. Upon seeing a new Pokèmon, Rico asked in mild stunning, "Who's that Pokèmon?" He then pointed his Pokedex towards it; the Pokedex then responded, "Vanillish, the Icy Snow Pokèmon and the evolved form of Vanillite. An Ice-type. It conceals itself from enemy eyes by creating many small ice particles and hiding among them."

"Oh, how icy it was," Rico calmly commented. Then to his Riolu and Litleo in seriousness, "Alright, Riolu, use Focus Blast, and Litleo, use Ember!" Riolu and Litleo then used Focus Blast and Ember, striking one of the Vanillishes and Cranidos, striking both effectively.

"Woah," Rico commented in amazement of Riolu's advantage, "It's so effective."

"Fighting-type moves are effective against Ice-type Pokèmon, "Dawn briefly explained, "Because Fighting-type can break ice."

"Oh, that's why," Rico calmly replied. Vanillish and Cranidos then get up from the powerful attack.

"Argh!" Red Eye retorted in frustration, "Vanillish, use Ice Beam!" Vanillish then used Ice Beam, striking Litleo with an icy beam of energy, evenly freezing it solid.

"Ah!" Rico sharply retorted in shock, "You're frozen!"

"Take its place and melt the ice with Flamethrower!" Dawn responded in serious coolness as she called out her Typhlosion. Her Typhlosion then came out of its Pokeball, stepping into battle. Riolu then use Karate Chop many times on frozen Litleo, trying to break the thick ice.

"Who's that Pokèmon?" Rico asked in stunning upon seeing Typhlosion, "I seen that Pokèmon before." He then checked in his Pokedex; the Pokedex then responded, "Typhlosion, the Volcano Pokèmon, and the evolved form of Cyndaquil. A Fire-Type. It attacks using blasts of fire. It creates heat shimmers with intense fire to hide itself."

"Wow, awesome," Rico calmly commented.

"Alright, use Flamethrower!" Dawn commanded Typhlosion in serious coolness. Her Typhlosion then used Flamethrower, scorching one of the Vanillishes with an intense blast of fire, striking it so effective it fainted.

"Argh!" Red Eye responded in frustration, "It's too powerful! Cranidos, use Zen Headbutt!" His Cranidos then used Zen Headbutt, focusing its willpower to its head and then, rammed Typhlosion in power, striking it effectively. Then, just in time, Riolu had managed to free Litleo from its frozen state; Litleo then collapsed from it.

"Litleo, are you okay?" Rico asked it in worry, "Don't give up, get up." Litleo didn't respond properly.

"Litleo, you can do it!" Rico said in cool emphasis, "Remember you were being attacked by some Whimsicotts? Be strong. Overcome your fear!" Litleo then remembered the time it was attacked by some Whimsicotts; after it, Litleo get up and snapped out, standing in seriousness and fierce. Rico then snapped out from worry to stunning amazement. Then, Litleo learned Flamethrower, scorching the remaining Vanillish with an intense blast of fire striking it effectively, finishing it off; Vanillish had fainted in exhaustion.

"Woah, is that...," Rico asked in amazement, "...Flamethrower?"

"Yes, it is," Dawn answered enthusiastically, "Flamethrower is a powerful Fire-Type move. It may leave the target a burn."

"Wow!" Rico replied in excitement, "That's cool, Litleo."

"Litleo!" Litleo responded in excitement.

"Riolu!" Riolu happily replied.

Upon seeing these happenings, Red Eye was stunned, and then, got enraged.

"You kids are way stronger than us!" Red Eye retorted in anger and frustration, "We could have your advantage if we were you. Cranidos, quickly, use Zen Headbutt!" When his Cranidos is about to use Zen Headbutt, Rico quickly commanded Riolu and Litleo, "Quickly, Riolu, use Focus Blast, and Litleo, use Flamethrower!" Riolu and Litleo then used Focus Blast and Flamethrower immediately on Cranidos, striking it so effective it fainted in exhaustion.

"No...NOOO!" Red Eye yelled loudly in defeat, "Argh! You kids! You will pay for this. We'll get you next time. You'll see!" He then called back his Cranidos, so as his grunts to their defeated Vanillishes; they then fled the place on their Z.Z. Flyers. Once they fled, Dawn ran to Rico, and commented the battle, "Wow, Rico, you're so cool. I can't believe you won against them."

"Yeah, right," Rico happily replied.

"Ri-olu!" Riolu responded happily.

"Lit-leo!" Litleo responded happily.

"Typhlosion!" Typhlosion happily replied

"Prin-plup!" Prinplup happily replied.

Just then, Lucas and Rosario rushed to the scene, calling for Rico.

"Mom! Dad!" Rico replied to their calls. Upon seeing him, the couple ran to him and hugged him in embrace and relief.

"Rico, are you alright?" Lucas asked him.

"Yes, I'm fine," Rico answered.

"Did someone attacked you, honey?" Rosario asked him in response.

"Yes, but we scared them away," Rico responded. Then, discharging from hugging, Lucas commented, "Well, we could have help you two, but oh, well, I guess you scared them away."

"Yeah, dad," Rico brightly replied. Dawn and her two Pokèmon, however, remained silent.

Later, at night, in the city street medium-covered in white snow, Rico and Dawn are walking; they then stopped at an intersection.

"Well, that was a fun battle," Dawn replied in positivity, "Now, I gotta go now."

"Are you going home?" Rico replied in surprise.

"Yes, my long vacation here is over," Dawn replied, "I'm going back to the Sinnoh Region." "Oh, I see," Rico calmly replied, "I guess it's goodbye for me now."

"Yeah, well, bye now," Dawn replied; she then ran to the right towards a hotel. Rico just stood there, and then, walked away in the opposite direction.
