The next day, the family decided to pack up and go home by plane. At the airport, Rico, before going home, decided to take a selfie at the airport's wide and spacious balcony. And he did, and when he take a look of it, he saw six photo bummers spoiling his last picture of the snowy city: Two Pokèmon Pinchers and two grunts of an unknown criminal organization with a Meowth and a Wobbuffet in their hot air balloon. When he saw the latter, he laughed.

Later at a plane back to Kawayan City, Rico, with Piplup on his lap, fell asleep while leaning towards Lucas' side, due to a fact that their flight was before sunrise. Smiling, Lucas placed his arm around his son in embrace.

Meanwhile, in the same time, Red Eye and his team had finished deciphering the five scrolls of Arceus, and Red Eye then commissioned the building of the "The Mountain Annihilator," a big weapon that can mind-control Arceus, and it is capable of destroying a region the size of Unova or Tahod.

Later at home, once he unpacked his bags, Rico sat on his desk chair and opened the sealed letter that the Blue Ninja left behind, while his Pokèmon are sitting and standing on his bed. Once taking off the wax seal, Rico unfolded the letter and start reading the handwritten, black ink words.

The letter says:

"Dear kid,

You will find out once you found me, in a small town, in a nice region named Kanto. My father is now a gym leader of our Ninth Gym. I hope we'll meet again in person.

Sincerely yours,

Blue Ninja."

Upon finished reading this, Rico was mildly puzzled and thought, "What? Blue Ninja? Find what? Where? Where is Kanto? What is the ninth gym?" He had a lot of questions in his head; his Pokèmon then calmly responded in asking, one by one.

"I...I don't know," Rico answered them; he then fold back the letter and put it in between the ink and pencil-filled pages of his A6-sized, twin-ringed, plastic covered, red notebook, and put the wax seal in one of the small, zipped pockets of his shoulder bag.

Later after lunch, Rico and his parents went to the city square to volunteer to decorate the park for the Kawayan Festival, a festival of celebration of harvests, music, and fun. There Rico helped setting the banner and the party streamers on lamp posts; Lucas helped arranging the tables, chairs, and electronic equipment for the concert and the games; Rosario helped cooking the festival food for everyone. Even their Pokèmon helped them prepare for the festival. It was a tradition for them, since their first arrival in the region.

And as they volunteer and help, Solana came and greeted Rico in friendliness.

"Wait," Rico responded to her as he ties a small, triangle, paper piece of colorful banner; he then finished tie it to a lamp post tightly and properly. He then turned around to see her.

"Oh, Solana, hi," he greeted her back; he then jumped back to the ground from a short ladder in a little action.

"Hey, well, I...uh," Solana replied while trying to let out her response and fixing her blue hair.

"What," Rico replied in positivity.

"I really like the way you battled Lunick," Solana replied, "So I was wondering if you would like a battle with me? My Pokèmon versus your Pokèmon." Thinking about this, Rico then answered, "Sure, all right then." His Pokèmon then responded in a mix of happiness and confidence.

Then, at the square's field, they are having a battle, using all of their Pokèmon. Most of the people are present, with two of them hold a Taiko and a set of three bells, as a part of a traditional entertainment of Pokèmon battles. Rico's parents, however, are busy setting the park for the festival.

Then, Rico and Solana called their Pokèmon, Litleo and Turtwig. Upon seeing a new Pokèmon, Rico was mildly stunned.

"Who's that Pokèmon?'' he asked. He then pointed his Pokédex towards it; his Pokédex then responded, "Turtwig, the Tiny Leaf Pokèmon. A Grass-Type. It undertakes photosynthesis with its body, making oxygen. The leaf on its head wilts if it is thirsty."

"Wow, that's cute," Rico calmly commented upon hearing this. Then to Solana with confidence, "Okay, let's begin!"

"Who's that Pokèmon?" Solana asked him in mild stunning upon seeing Litleo. She then checked in her Philas Pokédex; her Pokédex then responded, "Litleo, the Lion Cub Pokèmon. A Fire and Normal-type Pokèmon. The stronger the opponent it faces, the more heat surges from its mane and the more power flows through its body."

"Wow, that's a new Pokèmon I discovered," Solana calmly commented upon hearing this. Then to Rico in confidence and determination, "Alright, let's begin!" Rico then nodded in agreement with her, and so the battle begin, as a battle referee announced it so and the the instruments rang.

And so, the battle had began, and Solana will have her first move, "Alright, Turtwig, use Razor Leaf!" Turtwig then used Razor Leaf, slashing Litleo with sharp-edged leaves, striking it with great power, but not effective.

"What the...?" Solana commented in stunning, "Grass-type had a disadvantage against Fire-type. I should have learn about Kalos Pokèmon."

"Alright, Litleo, use Ember!" Rico commanded Litleo in cool seriousness. Litleo then used Ember, attacking Turtwig with small flames, striking it effectively. Turtwig was down to the ground, but getting up as Solana told it not to give up.

"Quickly, use Tackle!" Solana immediately commanded Turtwig in seriousness. Turtwig then used Tackle, charging towards Litleo.

"Quickly, Litleo, use Flamethrower!" Rico immediately commanded Litleo as Turtwig was still charging. This stuns Solana once more, and Litleo then used Flamethrower, scorching Turtwig with an intense blast of fire, striking it so effective it fainted in exhaustion.

"Turtwig is unable to battle," the referee announced, "Litleo wins. Two remaining Pokèmon for Solana, and two remaining Pokèmon for Rico."The entertainers rang their instruments, one twice and one thrice.

"Well," Rico responded in style, "You should learn more about Pokèmon from Kalos." Calling her Turtwig back, Solana replied in apology, "Yeah, I should." She then put it back in her Pokebelt, and then switched it with another one while looking cool-determine.

"Oh, yeah, I have a Pokèmon that you have a fear of," Solana responded, "Nidoran, go!" Nidoran then came out of its Pokeball, and stepped into battle, but Litleo remained in battle.

"Who's that Pokèmon?" Rico asked in stunning upon seeing a new Pokèmon. He then pointed his Pokédex towards it; the Pokédex then responded, "Nidoran, the Poison Pin Pokèmon. A Poison-type and a female. Although small, its venomous barbs render this Pokèmon dangerous. The female has smaller horns."

"Okay," Rico commented in mild nervousness upon hearing this, "Another Poison-type for me. I almost shivered myself from top to bottom;" he then put down his Pokédex. Solana chuckled a bit, and then, responded, "Yeah, you are." Then in a commanding and cool state, "Alright, Nidoran, use Poison Sting!" Nidoran then used Poison Sting, stabbing Litleo with a toxic barb, striking it effectively, eventually poisoning it.

"Oh, no, you're poisoned!" Rico responded in alert. He then got angry, and quickly commanded Litleo, "Quickly, use Flamethrower!" Though poisoned, Litleo managed to use Flamethrower, scorching Nidoran with an intense blast of fire, striking it effectively.

"Oh, yeah, take this!" Solana responded. Then in a cool state, "Nidoran, use Scratch!" Nidoran then used Scratch, but Litleo managed to dodge it, causing it to miss. Solana was mildly shocked, while Rico smiled in determination.

"Alright, Litleo, use Flamethrower!" Rico commanded Litleo in serious coolness. Litleo then used Flamethrower, scorching Nidoran with an intense blast of fire, striking it so effective it fainted in exhaustion.

"Nidoran is unable to battle," the referee announced, "Litleo wins. One remaining Pokèmon for Solana and two remaining Pokèmon for Rico." Then the entertainers rang their instruments, one twice and one thrice.

"Alright, Litleo, take a rest," Rico said to Litleo as he called it back to its Pokeball.

"You too, Nidoran, you did a great job," Solana said to Nidoran as she called it back to its Pokeball. Then to Rico in cool, "Well, you're a strong trainer. But can you handle my mighty Buneary?" She then called her Buneary out. Buneary then came out of its Pokeball, and stepped into battle, ringing the bells once more.

"Who's that Pokèmon?" Rico asked upon seeing a new Pokèmon. He then checked in his Pokédex; the Pokédex then responded, "Buneary, the Rabbit Pokèmon. A Normal-type. It slams foes by sharply uncoiling its rolled ears. It stings enough to make a grown-up cry in pain."

"Wow, that's cute and tough," Rico calmly commented upon hearing this. Then to Solana in coolness while putting down his Pokédex and put it in his shoulder bag nearby, "Oh yeah, can your Buneary survive this?" He then threw his Pokeball, and shouted, "Riolu, go!" Riolu then came out of its Pokeball, and stepped into battle.

"Heh, my Buneary can handle that," Solana retorted in coolness. Then in a serious commanding state, "Buneary, use Hidden Power!" Buneary then used Hidden Power, launching an aura-like energy ball, striking Riolu.

"Alright, quickly, use Counter!" Rico commanded Riolu in seriousness. Riolu then retaliated it with Counter, retaliating a punch-blow, striking Buneary very effectively.

(Bang!)

"What?" Solana commented in stunning upon seeing Riolu's advantage, "Fighting-type is effective against Normal-type?" Lunick, who was in the crowd watching, then shouted in answering, "Fighting-type are effective against Normal-type because Normal-type doesn't fight nor defend itself."

"Uh, I should've learn it," Solana replied in an embarrassing state. Then back to a serious commanding state, "But nevermind then, Buneary, use Pound!"

"Quickly, use Quick Attack!" Rico immediately commanded Riolu. Both Pokèmon charged to each other, but Riolu missed Buneary, striking it to the ground.

"Ugh, missed," Rico commented in mild anger.

"Quickly, use Pound, again!" Solana quickly commanded Buneary. While Riolu was down, Buneary used Pound, pounding Riolu with its forelegs, striking it effectively.

"Quickly, Counter!" Rico quickly commanded Riolu. Being hurt, Riolu then used Counter, retaliating a punch-blow, striking Buneary effectively. Solana was shocked in stunning while Rico smiled in determination and coolness.

"Then use Focus Blast!" Rico quickly commanded Riolu in seriousness. Riolu then used Focus Blast, heightening its mental focus and unleashes its power, striking Buneary so much it fainted in exhaustion.

"Buneary is unable to battle," the referee announced, "Riolu wins, and the match goes to Rico." The crowd cheers, and instruments rang once more, one once and another twice.

Calling her defeated Buneary, Solana softly said to it, "Buneary, you did great. Have some rest."

"You too, Riolu, have some rest," Rico said to Riolu as he called it back to its Pokeball. He then put it in his Pokebelt.

"Well, that was a fun battle," Solana commented in positivity, "Next time, I should learn more about disadvantages and advantages."

"Yeah, I think you should," Rico replied in positivity. Lunick then ran to them and responded, "Wow, Rico, your Riolu was so strong."

"Yeah," Rico happily retorted.

"You'll get him next time," Lunick said to Solana. Solana then nodded in agreement. Just then, Rico's parents, after finished arranging the decorations, ran to them.

"Rico, you're so cool," Lucas brightly commented his son's battle.

"Yeah, you are," Rosario added.

"Thanks, mom and dad," Rico happily retorted.

"Is that your parents?" Lunick asked him in puzzling.

"Oh, this is Lucas and Rosario, my parents," Rico brightly introduced. Then to his parents, "Mom, dad, this Lunick and Solana, they're from the Lauren Region." In response, Lucas, Rosario, Lunick, and Solana exchanged handshakes to each other, as Rico was happy about that. They all became friends. But on the roof of a multi-purpose building, Blue Ninja and his two powerful Pokèmon are standing in the wind, watching them in seriousness.
