Go to the Prime Minister’s Manor (Part Four)
When the two returned to the front hall, the birthday banquet was already winding down.

From time to time, they could hear the guests discuss Kun WuShang. Yin Shuo had come crawling out of some unknown place. Seeing Yin JiYao, he walked over to them.

“JiYao, where did you go? Brother has been looking for you for a long time.”

His eyes went between Yin JiYao and Gu JiuGe with a look of suspicion, suspecting that he had won over his younger sister.

Gu JiuGe did not make a sound and took a step back to the side

Gu ShuBai had just returned from lecturing the special envoy from Western Kun and happened to see them.

“Young sir Yin.”

“Eldest young sir.”

The two looked at each other, and the atmosphere became a little awkward.

“Where did young sir Yin go earlier? I had the servants search for you all through the manor, but they could not find you.”

“Oh, I noticed the green bamboo forest and went in for a short walk.”

The bamboo forest could not be said to be large or small. If someone aimlessly went in, they would not be easy to find.

Gu ShuBai stared at his eyes but did not notice any disturbance and slowly averted his gaze.

“The matter regarding Western Kun’s prince is no small matter. We won’t stay and cause a disruption. JiYao, let’s go home.”

He cupped his hands to Gu ShuBai and the others then bid farewell, leaving first. Yin JiYao looked at Gu JiuGe while feeling reluctant to part before quickly chasing after her brother.

“Second brother, you know the Yin family’s young miss?”

This Yin JiYao looked very unfamiliar. It seemed that she very rarely went out.

“Eldest brother only pays attention to Yu Fu’s matters. You very rarely inquire about the young misses from other families.”

Gu JiuGe turned his head to look for Gu HuaiJiang but was met with an inexplicable frown from Gu ShuBai.

“No respect for your elders…”

The guests departed from the manor, and Emperor Ning sent a trusted aide to report to Gu HuaiJiang, saying that since nothing of importance had been stolen by Kun WuShang, they would just leave it be.

If they were just going to leave it be, then that was that.

Gu HuaiJiang did not have any hopes that Emperor Ning would actually punish Kun WuShang in any meaningful manner.

Once he did punish him, it would be the same as provoking another war between the two countries, which would be falling into Western Kun’s trap.

Kun WuShang was given a lecture in the palace and also received an order that he was not to get close to Eastern Ling’s military secrets. Only then did he unhappily leave the imperial palace.

This was not because he had been caught. It was because of what the guards of Marquis Gu’s Manor had said.

Gu HuaiJiang had engaged Yu Fu to Gu ShuBai. He might have acted on his own a little too much. With Yu Fu’s status, was she someone who could be engaged based on his own desires?

No, he would have to go to Marquis Gu’s Manor!

Chi Gan had sent a carriage to wait for him at the palace’s gate. Seeing him come out safe and sound, the members of Western Kun’s special envoy could not quite describe how they felt.

They were afraid that if something happened to him, their own little lives might also come to an end.

They were also worried that if nothing happened to him, they would be unable to complete the mission entrusted to them by Emperor Kun.

“What sort of looks are these that you guys have?”

Having his arms and legs stared at by others in order to try and find some injuries, Kun WuShang felt his hairs stand on end.

“You guys can go back to the post house. This prince has something to do and must go out.”

“Seventh prince, where are you going?”

Where was he going to mess around at such a critical moment? Was he worried that Eastern Ling’s people did not know that he had come to steal military secrets?

“To…”

No, he could not go to Marquis Gu’s Manor right now.

“To the prime minister’s manor.”

“Seventh prince, please sit wherever. My study does not have any military secrets, so there’s no fear of losing anything.”

Kun WuShang looked up and shot him a glare.

This Yin Shuo had white skin, yet his mouth was really foul. He said all of the things that he did not want to hear.

“Thank you, young sir Yin, for not exposing me. Unfortunately, this prince was caught by Lord Marquis Gu on the scene. You wanting to threaten me with this is already pointless.”

When he saw Yin Shuo through the crack in the window, Kun WuShang thought of the word exploitation.

In this world, there were no benefits that came for free. Yin Shuo not exposing him on the spot was definitely because he had a request to make of him.

He had accepted this kindness, but knew that when he turned around, Gu HuaiJiang and the others would be standing outside the door?

Yin Shuo picked up his cup of tea with a smile but did not drink. Holding it in front of himself, he swirled it around and took in the fragrance of the tea.

“You being caught there is your own matter. Me not exposing you is something that you owe me for. How can you mix them together?”

Kun WuShang: “…”

Then let’s see what sort of medicine he was peddling in his gourd. Why not?

“Go on, what do you want? Could it be that you want Western Kun’s military situation?”

“Western Kun’s military situation, I fear that with seventh prince being away in the mountains for so long, you would not have such information. Moreover, our prime minister’s manor is not concerned with military affairs, and the one who wants the military situation is not me.”

Yin Shuo lowered his teacup. The corners of his lips seemed to be dyed with the fragrance of the tea.

“I just want to ask seventh prince about something. You have known Yu Fu for many years. What exactly is her identity?”

His frivolous smile suddenly disappeared.

Kun WuShang stared at him, “Why do you want to know about Yu Fu?”

Based on his experience from Immortals Valley, he could basically determine that Yin Shuo had “bad intentions” for Yu Fu.

“Marquis Gu’s Manor and our prime minister’s manor have never gotten along. Yu Fu is not one of Lord Marquis Gu’s children, yet her status is quite different. Even His Majesty likes her very much. Now, she will become the heir to the marquis’ manor’s wife. For such an important position, how can I feel at ease without knowing her true identity?”

“What heir’s wife? Not even the old man, our master, has agreed. Who would dare to say that Yu Fu is the heir’s wife?!”

His tone instantly turned cold.

Yin Shuo’s pupils contracted and suddenly realized something, “I misspoke.”

Kun WuShang did not seem to accept this olive branch and suddenly stood up.

“I cannot possibly tell you Yu Fu’s identity. Change your condition. Once you’ve made up your mind, send someone to the post house to tell me. Farewell!”

He finished speaking and strode out of the study, leaving the bead curtain to noisily clatter about.

After exiting the gates to the prime minister’s manor, he tapped himself on the head.

“Damn, I clearly planned to try and get close to Yin Shuo, so how could I lose my calm…”
