No sooner had Lyn left him, he hears a cough at his right side to find a woman with bright blue hair. "Lady---" he trails of catching her expression, "My bad, I mean Kathy. "

This woman is Kathy, the daughter of one of the neighboring countries of the Sound Kingdom. She's the Princesses friend, so Kazuya knew her quite well.

"Good. I'm surprised, though. I thought you'd take her away. Did you learn some self-control? "

Heh, "There's no way, just now I was thinking of ways to kidnap her since she's so pretty." She's so beautiful tonight. Although in his eyes she's always pretty, there's something about her tonight that's different.

"Now that's more like you."

"Is Gin here also?" Kazuya asked. He knew despite how strong Kathy is, she would never go to a ball filled with such dangerous individuals completely alone. Unlike back then, she is no longer a hanyou; in fact, there is no trace of the blood that was once there.

"He's over there see? He's standing by the ancients group looking completely bored out of his mind. If Uncle wasn't apart of the ancients, I doubt Gin would try go near them let alone attend tonight."

"And I highly doubt it's because of that reason alone."

Kathy's expression broke into a mixture of a scowl and a pout. "I didn't want to come here, were not even part of the Wind fraction after all. But, the Princess sent me."

His gaze darkened, "What did she say?"

____
A few hours later - Waiting Area, First Floor -

"Lyn?"

"Hmm?" the girl's tone seemed indifferent, and that only made him sigh more. He wonders if she is doing this deliberately or not. Either way, it is problematic for him for her to act in this manner.

"Smile. No yawning and stand straight."

How many times has he repeated these instructions to her? He's starting to lose count.

Lyn sighed, "Isn't it fine? We came to this resting area for a reason," the two of them long left the banquet hall and found a quiet seating area by the windows on the first floor.

"I suppose."

For the party to be proceeding with no incidents ought to worry him, and yet it's easy to fall into a comfortable feeling as a result. He's feeling sleepy all of a sudden. Perhaps it's because he didn't sleep prior, but his body feels a lot more drained than usual. Is that man, Kazuya still loitering around? Or did he met up with Prince Ralph and moved the conversation outside? Either way, he should arrange for a way for the two to properly meet each other later on.

Prince Ralph said there was a matter of great urgency that he wanted to speak about. But if it's so important, Allen wondered why Prince Ralph did not bring Lyn along.

He heard briefly from Carlo that they spoke for a while; but knowing her. Now that she's seen him, she would rather be with him then be pranced around with him doing greetings. Allen was slightly worried she would lose control the second they arrived at the hall. After all, he could feel the deep blood lust. It halted though after she looked around the room. His guess is, she must have noticed that man's presence. As risky as it is to have him here, it seems to have worked out for the best.

"That man is pitiful. "Allen said. When he saw how his wife was completely ignoring him, he thought it was amusing, but before they exited the ball, he started to pity him.

The man named' George,' is amongst Prince Kotaro's group of friends.

"I am even more pitiful," Lyn sighed, "The ladies here don't hide the fact that they are envious of me, nor do they hide the fact that they are going to scheme against me. Even though George is like that, he has quite a huge fan base as well as followers. Have you seen the way Kristanne glares at me? If he doesn't stop chasing me, don't be surprised if I end up being called out."

Allen chuckled, "Seems like my life is going to be tiring due to my wife's popularity." It's already a handful enough; he wonders if he can take another two months of this arrangement. Even though he said to her that he would get it done quickly; with the events spiraling out of control in the society, his job to gather supporters have become a lot more complicated.

"Well... Honestly, it's a little embarrassing for me to say so myself. But there are a lot of men who don't fall in love with me at first sight," Lyn said, "My personality isn't very good, and unlike my sister, I do not have any talent whatsoever."

Allen never knows what to say when Lyn gets like this. What is he supposed to tell her?

"But there is somebody who accepts me for the way I am. I guess. It's my Lord."

Allen raised his eyebrows, "Am I the first one who's treated you this way?" surely not. He's seen with his own two eyes how Kazuya treats her.

"Don't flatter yourself," Lyn trailed off, "Allen, why do you seem so lifeless today?"

"It's because I am tired, and simply because functions like this cease to be agreeable to me."

Silence descended upon them as they listened to the conversation to the nearby group of ladies, one was reciting a story.

"The story isn't very good if you ask me."

"But didn't somebody important write it?"

"Queen Lisa."

A knowing, 'ah,' passed the young women's lips. They came to a consensus about something, "Queen Lisa is known for being quite the romantic," Lyn commented.

Despite how bluntly she said it, Allen could trace that there was more to it; he supposes he could ask her later. She definitely will not disclose it in a public place like this.

"You do realize that she is only three years older than you?"

Meaning that she is one year younger than him.

"It's been a few years since that woman became King James, Queen," Lyn nodded, "While Queen Lisa is still not pregnant with his child. King James already has a successor; it's his fourth concubine's child. But others say that since the child was born, the two have been on bad terms. Queen Lisa has every sight to hope since love is something all women dreams about. Even if the ending is tragic."

"They dream about it even if it's going to end in a tragedy?" Allen asked. Even if somebody can already predict the outcome and ending, is there actually a woman who would per sue such a love? It made little sense to him, who will per sue such an impossible love? Impossible love, Allen sighed. It feels like he is speaking about himself.

"In the book Queen Lisa wrote, no character dies, or gets hurt."

He responses with a light, 'hmm' as though he was giving it thought while listening to the rest. But he paid more attention to her hair that seemed to flow about.

"But of course there are those who see it as stupid. There is no character development if the main character doesn't go through any trials. While the love in the book is a secret love affair, it's written as something pure and noble."

"Hmh, it is merely a fantasy."

"Unfortunately, in this day and age, in the elite world what's important about marriage is trust and having a child," Lyn shifts closer, and whispered, "Okay? Even if this engagement is the way it is, I still have the responsibility to give you an heir before it's nullified. If I don't give you a child, the people will think I have problems. If that happens, I'll never forgive you."

Allen wondered if Lyn understood what she meant by those words. Does Lyn understand what making a child entitles? Considering how foolishly naive she is at times. Allen wondered if she knew why he kept refraining from speaking about this in public. A young girl does not talk about these things in a public place. A deep sigh passed his lips; she grew up to be a completely different type of lady than her siblings. But Allen supposed this was better than how she was before.

Lyn pulls away, a soft sigh escapes her lips, "Do you wish to nullify the marriage already? "
