Allen leans forward and briefly touches their forehead against each other's, "This topic is already something we've spoken about." Although him having an heir from her, would satisfy the people enough, even if they were to end the marriage soon. He cannot do it, to sleep with her just for the sake of producing an heir.

"Well fine, let's leave it at that. Now, this never-ending ball is almost finished. Let's give it our all until the end," Lyn stood up and extended her hand out.

She would not dance with him inside, but she is okay doing so outside, huh?

"Dear, why, can't you just grant that man a beautiful memory tonight?"

"Allen, are you really going to make me do this? "

"Apologies. But I really am sleepy," Allen wasn't making excuses, he has no reason to do that when it came to her after all. However, he felt exhausted.

The ball is proceeding safely, and it's already too late for anything to happen. They've both made their rounds properly, flattered the ancients enough, and build up connections. There is no need for him to remain here. Allen pulled their hands apart and began to walk off, "I will go get some rest since you won't be seeing him anymore after this. Why don't you give that man a beautiful precious last memory with you? I trust you, so I'm not worried."

Or rather, what he trusts is her feelings for Kazuya. No matter what men try to approach her now. The girl is completely head over heels for the man named Kazuya. Still, he recalled that sight with the other one named Rhys as well as the confession from the young man.

When he saw her reluctant gaze, he adds, " If you don't want to dance, you can sleep with me. We have to make one, don't we? An heir?"

When he heard no response, he walked off, only to have something thrown across his head, to find that the one who did it was none other than his wife, who was storming away angrily.

Allen picked it up and returned it to the owner, " I apologize."

"Please chose the right time and place for couple fights."

A deep sigh passed lips; he would if he could. Every time they fight, though, it ends up with them not speaking for a few days. Unfortunately, tonight is the prologue to the plan, "Send word," Allen instructed, "Tell the Princess that I shall meet her in my chambers by 9:00 sharp."

....

As he made his way through the long halls, his thoughts remained distracted. He couldn't think straight at all. Instead of returning to the hall, Allen made his way to his room. While he did not want to return to that place where there is pointless chatter, he knew his disappearance would seem odd. So he made sure that before he left the banquet hall with Lyn earlier, people knew he had a severe headache. It was a simple trick, and Allen knew that the smart ones certainly wouldn't fall for this. But it was better than nothing.

It did not take him long to find the room assigned to him. Two of his guards were guarding the room; he silently acknowledged them with a nod before entering. Something immediately caught his attention. The materials for the plan lay on the table where he tossed them when he arrived earlier. 'How careless,' Allen thought. But then again, all he could think about was Lyn. Whenever they meet up, he ends up thinking of her and only her. Everything else vanishes in the process.

Was he being a little childish? She was the one who brought up the topic of producing an heir. Of course, they've had such a conversation in the past, about producing an heir. It was one of the first conversations they had when they first got engaged. Allen wanted to make it clear to the girl, that he would not harm her, that he does intend to force her to do anything she didn't want to.

A child with her, he's only ever dreamed about it. Allen has never expected anything from her, never expected the girl to return his feelings. His family raised him with a cold heart, like the rest of them he should be emotionless and indifferent to most things. Indeed he was at times. However, whenever it came to the woman named Lyn, his feelings would turn soft.

Allen recalled the first day he overheard that conversation.

Year 40XX Wind Kingdom Main Castle

"Is the king of the Mist Kingdom interested in Allen?"

His grandmother nodded, "He expressed great interest, getting our children engaged."

"How old is his daughter?'

"A newborn."

Allen thought about the girl he met not too long, they must be talking about that girl.

"But she's still a lady, what kind of lady is she? What do the mages say?"

"She may be young, but she will grow up to a beautiful, subtle, and wise woman."

----

Present
And so here he is, so many years later. He is supposed to be her fiance, and yet.. Allen shook his head. 'This is not the time.'

The palace people, the elites around him, he could not trust their words. But Allen did not want to dismiss their words completely as lies. That's why he went to find out for himself, even though meeting before the engagement banquet was not permitted. Allen wanted to get a glance at least; he didn't think that he would get more than a glance, but speak with her. When they first spoke to each other, she did not know of his identity, and that may be the reason why she was able to talk so freely.

The next time they met, she was like a completely different person.

Allen wondered if Lyn understood? How long has he wanted to touch her? How long has he wanted to feel her bare skin pressed against his? When he realized that he was capable of such thoughts, it startled him and yet he didn't discard it; since under the surface, he is still a man. The desire he has to want to touch the woman he loves is not wrong at all, even if that woman already belongs to another person.

That hand, it was supposed to belong to him. The one who is meant to stand by her side now is him. Allen wished to be rid of such thoughts, but whenever he is left by himself, he couldn't help but think about it. How was he supposed to prepare for this? How could he have foreseen this happening? His beloved fiance - who he has been engaged with since she came to this world snatched away after sixteen whole years.

It baffled Allen when he heard the news. At first, he thought people were joking around with him. The ones who know about Lyn made a habit of teasing him regarding the girl after all. However, it was not like that at all. Lyn fell for another person. Most people in his situation wouldn't be so worried, at the end of the day they will still get married.

Lyn will still be his wife. She can have her fun for now, but once they are married, she will belong to him. Allen knew all of this, but it didn't make him any happier. How could he be happy knowing that his fiance loves another man?
