Lyn wondered if father 'approved' of Kazuya and her dating. She never asked about his stance on the issue, because she felt it wasn't necessary to ask. It didn't make a difference whether anybody approved of her relationship with Kazuya at all. Nothing would change, she would still date him. However, the more Lyn thought about her father's behavior towards Kazuya, the more that thought resurfaces.

"Lyn? What's wrong?"

"Ah, nothing," Lyn looked around, "Kazuya, I'll heal your injuries."

"Mmm, okay. There are no recorders here or anything to detect magic. So they shouldn't notice. Make it light, though; it would be strange if I recover completely."

Lyn nodded, and a familiar glow appeared in her hand, as she extended it towards Kazuya's arm injury. Even though she is using magic, it's not as simple as people think. To use healing magic, one must require an extensive amount of medical knowledge, so while she may have remained ignorant to most things about the Empire. The knowledge she has regarding specific topics match up to scholars.

With her isolation, Lyn had all the time to read and study. Though books regarding politics are taken out of her shelves, she is intelligent academically.

More importantly right now, Lyn looked over at Kazuya, and sure enough, he was staring at her with an intense look in her eyes. Her cheeks flushed immediately, uwaa she ended up getting caught staring.

"Kaz-"

Her sentence fell short when he leaned down and touched her cheek with the palm of his hand. ". .. . .. Lyn. . . ."

"Yeah…"

His face is so close to her; it's challenging to remain calm like this. But she can't keep acting like a flustered idiot, whenever something happens.

"Now that we've met, I finally realize how long I haven't seen you."

Uwaa, is he serious? Is that why he's touching her? Even though it's only on her cheek, it's still classified as touching. Lyn coughed, "Whose fault is that?" she wanted to swiftly change the topic before Kazuya realizes how embarrassed she is.

"Mine."

Lyn sighed, "Why do you keep avoiding me? Do you not like me anymore or something?"

Sensing his silence Lyn panicked, wait, wait, wait? Is that really it?

"It's not that," Kazuya shook his head, "In fact, I like you more and more as each day goes by."

"Then, how come?"

"After speaking with your sister. I realize there are still many things I don't know about you. Do you think it was abrupt of me? Asking you out?"

So it's because of what her sister said to him. Lyn would have hit him if he wasn't injured already. What a moron, but still..... Her cheeks grew hot, and Lyn blushed, "Well, you know, even if you didn't, I would have?"

That's right, even if Prince John didn't appear and that situation came about that lead to Kazuya protecting her. Lyn would have asked Kazuya out. From the moment she met him, she was immediately drawn to him. Then again, their first meeting wasn't exactly pleasant. She's always wanted to know though, why did Kazuya kiss her that day? At first, she was on guard even when she hung around him. Lyn was afraid that he would kiss her again. However, it didn't take her long to learn that this person is clumsy when it came to girls.

"I see, that makes me happy," Kazuya trailed off and laughed, "Really, I'm glad we felt the same way about each other, even back then. So it was love at first sight? With an angel that descended from the heavens."

Lyn rolled her eyes, "Quit being stupid," but love at first sight, huh? It was probably that. From the very moment they met, Lyn knew there was something different about Kazuya then all the others.

Thump, thump. She can hear it loudly, the sound of her beating heart.

Ever since she met this person, it felt like her heartbeat is continuously like this. Constantly a mess.

"Lyn, you seem nervous."

"Aaagh, quit it!"

Kazuya continued to laugh.

It's not fair that he can tell these things about her. But, Kazuya is the only one who properly tried to learn everything about her. Over the years, many people have been attempting to extend their hand out towards her to open her heart. But seldom have achieved it. People try, but once they realize it is too difficult, they give up.

"I have something I want to ask you Kazuya."

"Hm?"

Lyn took a deep breath, "Why me?" she asked, "I know I'm part of your mission, but other than my powers. Your elders could have picked my sister. If it's a Union with the Mist and Sound Kingdom you want, or to take over the Mist Kingdom. Allying yourself with my sister is the better move."

Why chose a Princess with no power? One who lacked knowledge about the world?

Kazuya did not reply right away, and Lyn knew he was considering her words, "You make a point there, and I even suggested that. But," Kazuya shook his head, "The elders probably determined whether they could use Princess Lethia when she came over to visit. Your sister will betray her country for more power. That's the difference between you two."

Lyn looked at him with a confused look in her eyes, "If it's like that then..."

Kazuya shook his head, "Well, I think you understand by now. Directly asking Prince Andrew anything will only get us shot down."

"Ah-huh, it's suicide."

But, if the Sound Kingdom presented their case properly, then not even brother would turn them away. "Did you just want a wife?"

Kazuya scratched his right cheek awkwardly and looked away, "For some reason, the elders want me to get married."

"To control your powers?"

"They wanted to find someone compatible," Kazuya nodded, "So yes to control my powers. I need a wife to act as a tranquilizer."

"But then," Lyn trailed off, "You should know, right? Our abilities aren't compatible with each other," rather maybe it was just her. But whenever they used their powers at the same time, there seemed to be a conflict of some kind.

"It's not that they aren't compatible. You simply don't know how to use it properly. Actually, our magic is quite similar to each other. You just don't see it yet."

She doesn't see it? But Lyn supposes that made sense. If it's like that, then she understands the Sound Kingdom elders way of thinking. Lyn was having a hard time just getting rid of the blood. The beating Kazuya received was dire, so for a while, she returned her attention back to healing. Kazuya too was quiet for a short while when he suddenly spoke up.

"Anything else?"

"Kazuya?"

"I don't want to hide things from you anymore. The more things I hide, the more strained our relationship becomes. I want to be more honest with you Lyn."
