She wonders if it's the same for Kazuya. Her heart is beating so much; her face is probably all red, she's sweating too. Maybe it's just her who feels all these things. Eldest brother used to tell her not to give her heart to anyone since it means completely exposing herself to them. However, when she met Kazuya again, Lyn understood. So this is how it feels to give her heart to another person. The two of them have come a long way together.

"This is bad," Kazuya said, breaking the silence. For a split moment, Lyn was worried that he found out, he's going to start thinking she is an idiot. Lyn braced herself for the negative remark, but she didn't get it, instead... "My heart is beating so much."

At that comment, her eyes widened, "I think it's my heart."

Kazuya laughed, "Nope, it's definitely mine. My hands are all sweaty."

He's such an idiot. Her gaze softened at his words, and she closed her eyes. She leaned forward.

The two of them remained like that for a few minutes longer. It felt like they were the only ones there in the world. However, that moment broke when they hear the sound of somebody knocking on the door. "Sir Kazuya, the food you ordered has arrived."

Food? Lyn looked over at him, and Kazuya laughed, "Yeah, I wanted to have a meal with you."

"En, I am hungry."

….

"Eh, pillar of light?" Lyn asked as she munched on the sandwich. She is glad that the servants prepared light and finger food to eat. These days she did not have much of an appetite.

"Right, we're looking for the users of the twin pillar of light magic," Kazuya trailed off and scratched his head. "I figured you'd have a clue since the last time it was seen was in your place."

A high-level magic user that can enter her place? "Brother, mentor, Gabrielle…" She immediately froze, "Ah, there is."Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click www.webnovel.com for visiting.

It can only be one person. But would it be okay to tell Kazuya? Lyn took a sideways glance at her and recalled what happened a few moments ago. Even now, she could still feel his warmth lingering on her body.

"Allen."

Kazuya almost choked on his food and Lyn quickly passed him some water, which he immediately drank.

"Are you kidding me, why is it him?"

"Um, why is it so important?" Lyn was confused.

"Because," Kazuya mumbled, "We need him to set up a barricade when the Phoenix uses her powers."

"Phoenix?"

Kazuya scratched his head, "When you hear the words pillar of light, what do you think?"

"A pillar made out of light magic? A beam?"

Kazuya nodded, "A-pillar is a tall structure that is used to support something. Light magic is associated with purity, kindness, and innocence. Those who use it tend to have a pure heart," he pulled a disgusted face. "You're telling me he has a pure heart?"

Lyn sweat fell, she understands where he is coming from. For Allen to use the most beautiful form of magic. 'He isn't a cold guy after all.' Lyn could still remember it very well. When she first met Allen when she was ten years old. He may have acted like that. However, he brought her back to her room, personally when she fell asleep. He's never taken advantage of her over the years too.

But even then, for her, those things didn't stir her heart. Lyn just assumed that things were supposed to be like that naturally. Since she is his fiance, Lyn assumed that he had to act that way; otherwise, people would start rumors about him.

Her thoughts broke off when Kazuya brushed his hands on her cheek. "I don't know how to feel when you're thinking about another guy."

"You don't have to get so jealous," she mumbled. "Right now, I'm here with you."

Kazuya smiled, "I wonder if that is enough to reassure me."

Lyn sighed, "What else do you want me to do?"

At that comment, the remaining distance between her and Kazuya vanished. Lyn could feel his face so close to hers; she could feel his breath, his warmth lingering against her lips. "I think you have the wrong idea about me, Lyn. I'm really not as kind as you think I am."

"If you're trying to scare me away, it won't work."

"I won't do such a thing. I just want you to understand that I am not a good person. Your eldest brother, your second brother, the General, and Pupillam all have good reasons why you ought to be wary of me."

"Even if you're like that, it doesn't matter to me."

Kazuya laughed, "Your really something." After kissing her forehead, he lets her go and walked over to the other couch and picked up a cup. Lyn noticed the color of the cup and frowned. He's drinking in front of her now, is he that stressed out? Then again, before she came here he was doing work.

For a split moment, Lyn just stood there frozen and watched him take out a book. Gradually, she made her way over and sat on the couch too.

"You know, they say that the distance you sit away from the person usually shows the degree of likeness," he said rather calmly. After that comment, Lyn moved a bit closer.

"Your nervous, aren't you?"

Lyn whipped her head to look over at him, and she knew he could see she was blushing.

"Well, no matter. Come closer, Lyn."

The second he said those words, he pulled her arm and pulled her into arms. "See? This is much better.

Due to the closeness, Lyn knew that Kazuya could feel her heartbeat. Ah, she meant what she said earlier. Kazuya suddenly wrapped his arms around her and buried his face in her neck.

"What are you?"

"Ssh don't say anything," he murmured. " Me too. I was relieved you know when you said you were happy that I said something like that to you. It just proves your feelings right there. Do you remember what old man said to us before? About us being strangely connected to each other by fate?"

Ah, 'You two are connected by the red string of fate."

"To me, at the time, I didn't believe in fate at all. I couldn't see it. It was something that wasn't part of my world at all. Regardless of that, somehow when I met you that started to change, it became part of my reality. I understood straight afterward that everything in my small world became only parts of you. I was glad when you said you'd go out with me. Because I really have always loved you. Though this entire time, I'll admit I've been denying it and saying crap like she's too far from my reach. Even now, I do still think that when I see you with guys other than me. However, along the way, I began to realize that I couldn't do it anymore. Screw the rules I just want to tell you."

T--tell her what? Lyn thought she could keep calm around Kazuya. But right now he is saying some pretty outrageous sounding things.
