Lyn peered over at Kazuya. In the end, he brought her outside. But how come they were not alone? Other than Rhys, there was the man named Yuzuhara here too. This guy is trying to avoid something again; a deep sigh passed her lips. This should be normal already, but it was difficult for her to get used to this. Sometimes Lyn pondered on things that she usually would not.

It's in times like this she wonders, exactly what sort of ending this story will have? Will it end up being a tragedy, or will it...end like that old tale? Would it end up with a half-hearted ending due to her decisions? From now on, whatever choices she makes will affect everybody. She can no longer be so careless. Her deep thought broke though when Kazuya extended his hands out, "Lyn."

It appeared as though while she was spacing out, the two had already gotten to the top of the hill. Although she was here earlier with Rhys, there's something different now. That's right; it's different. Lyn accepts his hand and smiles.

Only to have her auburn colored haired guard show up, she makes her way over to them automatically. "Ahh, that's, your hands are dirtied with mud," Pupillam commented.

"It is fine."

Pupillam shook her head and stares at Kazuya, who was smiling brightly, "It's fine; it's fine."

"Lyn."

Lyn looked over at what Rhys was pointing at and found two of her other guards bent down. Hmm? She makes her way over her gaze, softening when she saw a family of animals.

"So cute," Lyn beamed happily.

Feeling something being placed on her head, she glanced up and found a crown of flowers on her head. "Kazuya, thank you."

"Looks good on you Lyn."

"Yes."

"Of course, my cute Lyn will look good in anything."

Kazuya.

It's a first for her, meeting a man that smiles so much. That guy was the same, and yet there was always a hint of darkness. Kazuya, though, has always been different. That may be why even now, she wishes to get close to him even if it is just for a little while longer.

….

Forest - 9:00PM-

Lyn extended her hand out in the air, and a pair of butterflies shrouded in Mist flew up. She turned to the man beside her, "I did it."

Shioka smiled, "Perfect. Then we should get the desired results by tonight."

A deep sigh escaped her lips, "What are you planning now? Don't do anything stupid. My eldest brother recognizes my familiars."

"Then, you shouldn't come to such a dangerous place."

Currently, she was in an old building on the outskirts of town. Lyn sighed, "Whose fault is it that I ended up here… You know Rhys will notice."

"I kept him busy, don't worry."

Kept him busy?

"Aaah, you bribed him with women!!!" Lyn exclaimed.

Shloka rolled his eyes, "It's your fault for liking that type of guy."

"I'm dating Kazuya!"

"Dating, engagement whatever. Until your married, all those relationships aren't official."

This guy is impossible to deal with. Lyn sighed, "Why did you want me to come here? I could have done this back over there."

"Did you hear about the recent attacks on the villages?"

Lyn nodded, "Kazuya, big brother, and Allen are always out investigating."

"Yet those investigations lead to nothing because, by the time they arrive, nothing is happening."

"Isn't that unusual? They received the report that something is happening," Lyn trailed off. "Unless the information is delayed?"

"It's more like by the time they reach. Somebody else has dealt with it. So it simply looks like our side was slacking off and not taking things seriously."

"That's a problem…"

"Right? And the funny thing is the council didn't receive word too."

Lyn frowned, "How is that possible? All incidents get reported to the council. A large-scale village attack can't happen without no council members noticing."

"Word has it that the council members stationed in town were either sleeping or prioritizing other work," Shioka's gaze dimmed. "It's clearly a setup. As crummy as the council members are, they wouldn't abandon those in need. If the very village they are staying in is getting attacked, why would they ignore it?"

"The villagers aren't informed either. So they can't head to the shelters," Lyn mumbled. Normally when something happens, the villagers get a notice from the council. "But this time around nobody knew. So the villagers got attacked. A group came by and rescued them, but it doesn't change the fact that people still had to get hurt."

"In the first place, this all began when the Sound Kingdom members arrived. The royal family focused their attention onto the sound Kingdom members. It wasn't as obvious, but something was already going back then."

".. "

Shioka continued, "The soldier's attention was shifted to what they saw as a problem. Areas where normally there would be guards were suddenly emptied. Honestly, I found it stupid. How many members of the Sound Kingdom came? 10? A single squad of 50 or so men should have been enough."

"It wasn't that simple," Lyn trailed off. "50 or so men could easily be wiped away by one man. Kazuya himself could get rid of everyone in one go, and it wouldn't take long. Brother knew that. However, I must admit that focusing all our attention, and weakening our defenses was stupid. But, what's done is done."

Kazuya is strong, even under all those watchful eyes. How many times has Kazuya brought her out successfully? The number of times they have snuck out together unseen. Kazuya has a lot more power than anyone can imagine. She only caught a glimpse of it that one time.

Shioka smiles, "I will find out how those people got their information. Either they are the ones behind the chain of attacks and are putting on a front.

"And I'm here because?"

"Is it not obvious? You're helping too."

Lyn sighed, "I hate to break this news to you. But I'm supposed to be recuperating. Why else do you think I'm not back at home?"

"Do not be so stubborn, Lyn. It is not like you will have a relapse investigating. Though," Shioka looked at the weapon in her hands. "If you keep waving that large scythe around, then maybe."

"I will put it away once we leave this place." She shifted about uncomfortably. "Did we have to meet in the forest?"

"You're the one who doesn't want people seeing us talking," Shioka smiled. "Besides, I know you're a scaredy-cat. I was hoping to catch you off guard."

Lyn said nothing and simply raised her blade towards Shioka. It still felt heavy whenever she carried it. But unlike before, she could lift it with more ease.
