Lyn felt her whole body tremble and she kept her head down. Even though they sat in a private area, people going past can still see through the curtain. She knew even without looking at a mirror that her face colour had drained completely. Her body trembled and shook, her face broke out into sweat.

"So about what your friend proposed my Eldest son, was he serious?"

Kazuya nodded, "Despite the circumstances Rhys meant his words. For a long time we wish to establish a friendly relation with our neighbouring Kingdoms. Of course the Mist Kingdom is included in that."

"Hmm, and when do you propose this?"

"I shall be heading back for a bit before the year ends. I would be more than honoured for the First Prince to join me."

"Oh?"

She must have lost her balance slightly then, she only half heard the conversation. Since it felt like something was pounding in her head, causing her to turn dizzy. Kazuya immediately caught her, he frowned and swept his hand across her forehead. He didn't say a word and scooped her up in his arms.

"Sorry, we will come back," Kazuya apologized, and they quickly left the area.

Lyn realized that in order to exit they had to go the same way. After she saw him, Lyn kept her head down the whole time but she could still hear his voice - indicating he was still there. She gripped on to Kazuya's clothing and buried her face in his arms.

".."

To her surprise Kazuya suddenly turned the other way, and called out. "Owner, do you have a quiet space we can use?"

The man who greeted them earlier was loading some boxes and turned to them. He quickly assessed the situation and put the box down, "Let's check."

....

Since Kazuya knew the owner, it was easy to find a quiet spot. In fact the owner gave them the privilege of using a room upstairs. Once they were in the room, Kazuya placed her down on the couch.

Kazuya squeezed her hands and gently kissed her forehead, "Are you okay? What's making you so scared?"

"Kazuya..."

"Yeah?"

She buried her face in his arms. Safe, when she's hugging Kazuya she feels safe. That's what she needs now. He smells nice and she feels warmth. This is better for her, immediately Lyn felt her unsteady breathing return to normal. Kazuya didn't say a word and continued to gently caress her hair, and give her light kisses on her forehead.

After a few minutes had passed, she looked up. If it's this person, she can trust him right?

.....

Lyn tells him about it.

Something she's always kept a secret this whole time, about what happened when she was fourteen. It wasn't the incidence with her using her powers. But it was something that happened before. Something that may have lead to that accident. Lyn isn't all too sure, a part of her memory is hazy. But she can't forget it, the face of the person who caused these nightmares.

Kazuya said nothing at first, and it worried Lyn that she bothered him. But then she noticed his serious look, "That guy, he isn't from the Mist Kingdom right?"

Lyn shook her head, "He's from the Stone Kingdom--- The current King's only son, "

"And his relation to you?"

"He wanted to marry me. But I'm already engaged with Allen," Lyn spoke slowly, "When we first met, it was an accident. I was having dinner with everyone and their family rudely showed up without permission. Though eldest brother tried to hide me, that man noticed me right away. He proposed the engagement then."

"On the very first day?"

Lyn nodded. It took her by surprise, this random stranger who rudely barged in with his family proposed. Later on she realized that they barged in deliberately. One of the servants forgot to close the window, so somebody going past would have seen her. Of course Mother traced back those who walked by the area and silenced them.

Kazuya kicked the wall, startling her.

"Kazuya?" she spoke slowly.

"That guy, did he try to touch you?"

He must have realized from her reaction, "Yes, but I managed to fight back. It was the first time I used my powers."

The incidence that happened when she was with her family - the reason she could use her powers then was because of what happened the first time. Lyn knew it was impossible for her to use powers on that magnitude without using it a little before. So she put these incidences in this order, her memory however is very vague. So she isn't sure whether this is the case. Which happened before? But Lyn knew for sure that both these events occurred two years ago.

"I'm sorry that had to happen to you. Lyn," he gently called her name out and for the first time in years. Lyn felt the tears desperately fall from her eyes, "But you don't have to worry anymore. I'm here."

For the longest time she hid what happened. Because she truly didn't get what happened. All she remembered was feeling very disgusted and before he could do anything, she used her powers for the first time. However due to his extent of the injury she gave that man. Lyn didn't know whether she ought to share the situation, she didn't think it was right. The injury was grave after all. If she provoked him first, he would most likely try to turn the tables against her. The fourteen year old her who only just discovered her powers and slowly learned the ways of the elite world, didn't wan't to cause her family any problems..

"The scar.. I caused that."

Kazuya nodded, "Yeah."

"Your not afraid of me?"

He shook his head, "Why would I be afraid? Rather I'm glad you fought back. Damn that guy when I get my hands on him for trying trick you."

Though he tried to trick her. Lyn wasn't that clueless or naive. She admits that there are occasions where yes her naivety gets the better of her.

But Lyn understood that there was something wrong that day. No matter what she did, Kazuya will always accept her. He's the one person she has waited for this whole time. The one who will climb through the endless amount of layers she built over the past few years. Lyn really felt touched by his kindness.

He's even getting angry for her sake. Lyn wanted to ask him again why, why is he doing so much for her? Why treat her with such kindness? But, right now she doesn't want to hear the answer.

Only a short time, more or less a month now has passed since they first met each other. Their first meeting wasn't exactly 'pleasant' either. Even now Lyn can't bring herself to ask him, what was he doing there that day?

She's afraid that if she asked him, then something would change. She doesn't want things to change now. Not now, that's not the time for it.
