Rhys didn't reply to her and walked back over to the mini kitchen. Lyn peeked from her blanket, 'somehow..this is a strange situation.' Why does this person keep appearing before her? Then again, maybe it's just her overthinking everything. Whenever it comes to Rhys, she becomes weird.

With all that's happened lately, Lyn almost forgot about the lockdown. 'What's happening outside?' She wanted to ask Rhys because Kazuya isn't around as much. Kazuya ended up getting hurt when he last went out too. Kazuya, who never gets hurt.

Lyn wanted to go out; she wanted to see with her own eyes. However, they guard her very well. There are no loopholes; she can't escape even if she wanted to. Besides, escaping would mean disrespecting all their efforts.

"Rhys," Lyn called out. "Can you come over here?"

"I feel like you're planning on trapping me again, Princess."

She shook her head, "I just want to hold your hand."

"Not this again.."

"You won't come here?"

"I need to make your food, stay put."

'But she suddenly feels lonely...' Lyn struggled to say those words. Rhys didn't say another word and continued cooking. She weakly stood up and walked over.

Lyn buried her face in his back.

"Princess..."

"A few minutes," she mumbled.

"You know I quite like it when you give me the back hug.." Rhys admitted causing her to laugh softly.

"I see, I will remember that."

She wants to remember what he likes, his likes, and dislikes. Alongside her own, Lyn held onto him tightly. Even more than Kazuya, it feels like the person she needs the most now is Rhys.

If anybody hears her say such things, she will surely be punished. But as long as she keeps it to herself, then nobody will know.

Lately, it feels like he is hallucinating a great deal. The main cause for his hallucination is that woman named Lyn. Rhys doesn't understand why she behaves that way lately, does she truly understand what is happening? It's true he practically forced her to decide between Kazuya and him. But even then, Rhys didn't think Lyn would go this far.

Does Lyn genuinely like him? These days that feeling keeps growing stronger.

'I wish for good fortune to befall you.'

Rather than for himself, he clutches the amulet wrapped around his neck. Protect the Princess, continue on doing so. The others, aside from him and the rest of the guards are the only ones who hold that knowledge. About the Princess curse. Its true darkness is a main part of it but that being started as a being of light; and thus if she doesn't get enough of it. .. .

Lyn, if her body breaks down faster than she realizes. Rhys knew it would become very dangerous for her. One of the main reason why he is out here joining the expedition is because he learned something. There is supposed to be a gem here that will help Lyn.

Judging from the amount of time Lyn spent in that place, he wouldn't be surprised if the signs have gradually emerged.

Damm, as he thought he shouldn't have left her side even for a single moment. Rhys figured from the way they were progressing on finding the other guards; it was just high time before another major scale fight occurred. But he didn't think it would be like that.

Rhys couldn't forget what happened after that small moment they had together after she gave him that back hug, that sudden explosion. It leads to triggering her curse mark. The first Prince immediately isolated her. What is Lyn thinking alone in that place?

He doesn't want to think dark thoughts, he doesn't want that, but it's the only logical explanation. Kazuya isn't faring too well without Lyn by his side, and he is sure the same goes for her. That's why hold on Lyn. Once he gets this for her, she will surely feel better again.

His gaze landed on the castle wall. It's about time, huh?

"This way Nojou," Rhys said, leading his companion, who was carrying a massive rock with one hand.

"Coming," Nojou said. It is amazing how he can carry that rock with one hand only. Then again, they each have their strength as knights.

Knights huh? Rhys wondered when he started thinking this way. Is that the only way he can stay by her side? If he pretends to be her Knight? It sounds so pathetic.

"Where is the General?" Nojou asked.

"He went to look for our confiscated weapons. But then again, we all carry hidden weapons with us. Princess, go take the slaves to somewhere safe we can manage just fine here. There is someone on the other side of this wall that is providing us assistance so we can save the Princess sooner."

"Eh, who is it?" Pupillam looked at him questioningly. For somebody who abandoned Lyn, she sure returned quickly when she heard what was happening here.

"Perhaps. "

On the other side of this wall is that guy. On the other side of this wall, as long as that other part is destroyed, that guy could die. His life would come to an end, just like that. Before Kazuya and him came to the Mist Kingdom. It seemed like Lyn had a cousin who frequently came to visit her. But according to Zepher, that man betrayed her.

'Rhys, it's alright, I'm fine.'

When he hears the footsteps of the soldier's approach, he turned to Nojou. "Go on ahead."

Nojou nodded.

After he used the catapult, it destroyed a huge portion of the wall in an instant, sending the soldiers into a fit of panic.

"They breached the wall!"

"Gather the men."

"Kill anyone who resists."

Wow, they're getting worked up. Well, then again, the slaves can escape if they don't guard the wall. Quite some time has passed since he was last on the field properly. So Rhys had to admit he was slightly excited. Still, Rhys shook his head. He can't go overboard here; he needs to get the gem and immediately leave. If he causes too much chaos here, it would be bad for her.
