“Blind date?” Ji Ziming’s voice pitched a little higher. His eyes blazed with anger as he looked at Pei Ge.

White vest, long floral dress, and hair hanging loosely on her shoulders – such an appearance made her look like a gentle lady.

This woman only came to this coffee house for a blind date! It was no wonder her outfit tonight was different from the one in the day.

“Yes. Otherwise, why would I be here? I don’t even like drinking coffee,” she replied matter-of-factly.

“You…” He looked at her with a frown, as though he wanted to say something.

“Oh, I am such a person with no taste.” Pei Ge shrugged and said with a smile.

“No. There are many who don’t like drinking coffee.” Her self-deprecation made his forehead crease. He felt that her attitude toward him seemed different from before.

His words confused Pei Ge slightly and then she spit inside her, When did this Ji Ziming learn to speak human words?

“CEO Ji, I’m serious. I’m really here for a blind date tonight, and he will be arriving shortly. If you continue to sit here, my date might misunderstand.” She blinked her eyes and then said this sincerely when the man remained in his seat opposite her.

“… Alright. I’ll leave after asking a question.” He acquiesced after pondering on it for a while.

“What question?” She nodded and suspiciously asked.

“Are you coming to work tomorrow?” His eyes bore deep into hers when he asked this.

“Rest assured, CEO Ji; I will report to work on time tomorrow.” Pei Ge showed a very professional smile.

That smile made Ji Ziming uncomfortable, however.

He looked deeply at her once more before standing and leaving his seat without another word.

Once he left, she no longer minded him. Instead, she lifted her wrist with a watch to look at the time.

It was 8:30 P.M.

Pei Ge lifted her head and looked around. Her forehead began to fold together slightly.

It was already past the appointed time, but her blind-date partner had yet to arrive! Being late for the first meeting was never a good sign.

This made her think of her blind date as someone unreliable.

“Hai!” She sighed and began to rant inwardly, My mouth and I. I only wanted mom to show off in front of her friends by mentioning the raise and promotion, but it led to an arranged blind date, instead.

Pei Ge felt depressed when she recalled how her mother returned with not just many bags of vegetables but also the details for tonight’s blind date.

The date – a doctor who had a bright future – was recommended by a neighbor. He apparently only had pockets of time at night as he needed to work in the day and could rarely take leave.

“Sorry, are you Miss Pei Ge?” Just as she was ruminating on the matter, a man in white shirt approached her.

“Yes, I am.” She returned to her senses and looked at the man before her.

His short haircut made him appear very neat. His facial features were not that handsome, but his calm demeanor gave others the feeling comfort and security.

She gave this man high marks with this one look.

However, one could not simply judge a person’s character with one look.

“Hi, I am Chen Zhengchu.” The man smiled and proffered his hand.

Pei Ge also extended hers and shook his hand. “Hello.”

Feeling the cool softness of the man’s hand that lacked roughness, she could not help but eye his hands.

His long, white hands were like that of a pianist – extremely beautiful.

“Miss Pei, I’m very sorry. There was an emergency at the hospital, so I was late,” Chen Zhengchu apologized and explained very politely.

She did not doubt Chen Zhengchu’s words as she could smell the disinfectant on his body. Pei Ge smiled and shook her head. “It’s alright; I understand.”

“Mr. Chen, please have a seat.” She gestured with her hand.

The man smiled and sat opposite her.

“Miss, your milk.” Seeing that Chen Zhengchu had just sat down, the waitress served Pei Ge’s milk first.

“Thank you.” Pei Ge smiled.

“Sir, what would you like to order?” The waitress asked with a smile as she placed the milk down.

“A cup of latte, please,” Chen Zhengchu ordered.

“Alright.” The waitress noted his order and left.

Looking at the still steaming hot milk, Pei Ge picked up the tweezers and put a few cubes of sugar into her cup.

“I heard that Miss Pei works at a real estate company?” Chen Zhengchu smilingly asked the woman who kept adding sugar into her milk.

“Yes. CEO’s assistant.” She added more sugar into her milk in the process of answering his question.

Suddenly, Pei Ge, who had her head lowered, raised it and swept her eyes across the four corners of the shop, her face revealing confusion.

She could be wrong, but she felt someone’s stare.

“Eh, Miss Pei, did you put too much sugar?” This was not Chen Zhengchu’s first time having a blind date at this coffee house, but this was his first time meeting someone who would put a deathly amount of sugar in their ordered milk.

“It’s still alright, actually. Although you saw me put in many cubes of sugar, but one cube is just mildly sweet, and putting lesser in my milk won’t make it taste sweet.” Pei Ge stopped her actions and softly said.

“I see. However, I would still advise Miss Pei to eat lesser sugar as it is not good for your teeth and body.” Chen Zhengchu nodded with understanding and said seriously.

Her hands halted mid-action when she heard his words.

When she looked up and saw the sincerity in his eyes, she began to ponder. This man seems decent, mature, and stable. He also knows how to care for others. Why don’t… we try it out first?

Otherwise, she would be obligated to continue going on blind dates in the future.

“I wonder what Mr. Chen thinks of me?” With that thought in mind, Pei Ge asked this upfront.

“Eh, I think you’re alright.” Chen Zhengchu looked at her in confusion.

“I think you are alright, too. Why don’t we give us a try?” She nodded and suggested this seriously.

Pak! Just as she finished speaking, the sound of a cup breaking echoed about.

However, Pei Ge did not register this and merely stared intently at Chen Zhengchu.

What she did not know was that, not far from her seat, a certain someone now had a terrible look on his face, the surroundings getting a few degrees colder as his aura turned dark.

This damn woman! How could she utter such words when she only met him for the first time?! Will she marry as long as the person is a man?!
