“I did talk to her nicely.” Ji Ziming smiled in response.
“You don’t have to pretend in front of me. Do you think that I can’t understand what you’re saying? You agreed to her staying in our home to begin with. It’s fine if you toss her aside, but you’re speaking in riddles.”
“That’s because she deserved it.”
“You’re just doting on Pei Ge, huh? You don’t even care about me anymore. You don’t even ask where I am hurting.”

After waiting for a while downstairs, he finally saw the woman, with exquisite makeup, emerge in a checkered, monochrome dress from Gucci. As he watched her descend, he realized that she was even prettier than the first time he saw her.
He recalled how this woman had thrown 500 yuan at him the first time they met.
Pei Ge descended the stairs just in time to catch the man curling his lips as he stood by the door. He appeared to be reminiscing.
“What are you laughing about?”
“Nothing.” The man recollected his thoughts, walked over to the garage, and drove the Maserati out.
“Get in!”
“Oh.”
Before she could get to the car door, he opened it for her.
Perhaps due to the comfort of the car, she started feeling sleepy again and incessantly yawned.
“So sleepy?”
“En. Our kids went a little crazy last night, so I slept late.” She replied with her eyes closed, her thoughts already drifting about.
Ji Ziming lowered his seat to let the woman sleep comfortably.
Perhaps it was truly because of the car’s comfortable ambiance or it was the man’s smooth driving, but Pei Ge only woke up when they arrived at their destination.
“Where are we?”
“We’re at our destination; we’ll get down soon.”
As he spoke, the man parked the car. He walked over to the other side and opened the door for her. “Get down.”
She followed him into a modern breakfast shop, where they were welcomed by a row of staff. The man ordered a cup of cappuccino and a slice of black-forest cake for her.
Only then did she realize that there was no one else in the shop. “Is this one of your family’s businesses?”
“Kind of.”
He glanced coldly at his phone. He had just told his secretary to cancel his appointments for the day. As for the reason? Even the woman sitting across from him did not know.
“What do you mean ‘kind of’?”
At this point, the waiter served their food.
“Sir, the breakfast you wanted.”
“Mhm.”
He nodded and told the woman sitting across from him. “Try it. The food here is made by a former chef of a top dessert shop in France.”
“Ah?” Pei Ge was surprised to see the effort which had gone into this simple breakfast.
“Try it.”
“Oh, okay.” She picked up a corner of the cake. It melted in her mouth, and the flavor burst within. It reminded her of all the seasons.
“How is it?” asked the man as he sipped his coffee.
“It’s amazing!”
“Of course. That chef is exclusive to the French royalty.”
Her hands shook a little. Thus, she ate the breakfast especially made for her by a French royalty’s exclusive chef.
“What’s wrong?” asked Ji Ziming, detecting her odd behavior.
“Nothing. I just thought that it’s a pity.”
“What’s there to pity?”
“It’s so delicious. I’m afraid that I won’t get to taste it tomorrow.”
“That’s easy; I’ll just get the chef to make it for you at our place every day.”
“Then, won’t I just be like the noble princesses in the palace?”
“You are my princess.”
His eyes darkened. There was an indescribably harmony between his chiseled features and his sweet lines.
“When you’re done eating, I’ll bring you upstairs to go shopping for clothes.”

The top floor had many luxury boutiques. Even though she was not particular about the brand of her clothes, with her secretary being in charge of her fashion, as she was a well-known figure in the business world, she still knew a thing or two about such brands.
“Good day to you, sir.” Ji Ziming grabbed the woman’s hand when he spotted her walking a step behind him after they exited the elevator.
“Sir, what kind of clothes do you want to purchase today. What brand and what style?” The lady in charge bowed respectfully to the man with a professional smile on her face.
“Let my ‘wife’ try on some clothes.”
“Okay. Ma’am, this way, please.” The sales assistant invited her to the clothing racks for the newest arrivals.
“Ma’am, do you have any preferred color or style?”
“Anything’s fine as long as it suits me.”
“Okay. Please hold on; I’ll get our staff to match them for you.”
