She was prudent enough to get that Pei Ge did not want to talk about it, so she smiled politely and merely returned to her seat.
Pei Ge sighed in relief when the other did not ask her to elaborate.
In fact, she, too, did not know what she was thinking of earlier.
“Huuuu!” Stretching her hand and exhaling deeply, she concentrated on her work this time.

The sound was like elegant music and soothed her mood.

“Hello, Second Uncle.”
“Ge Ge, I was drunk yesterday; please don’t take my words to heart.” Pei Zhenghui’s voice came through the phone.
“I didn’t; I know you were drunk, so I don’t blame you.” Her grip tightened around the phone as she lightly spoke.
“That’s good; that’s good! I knew you’re the most sensible!” he laughed and said.
His words made her frown slightly.
“Second Uncle, where are you now? Is it a good time? I’d like to discuss things with you,” she said softly.
“No need. You are a good child and don’t have to explain anything to me,” he rejected.
“No, Second Uncle. There are some things that I should explain properly to you,” she insisted.
Her stubbornness seemed to have shocked him as he was rendered speechless.
“Second Uncle, I’m off work now. You should be in the office, right? I’ll find you there.” Without giving him a chance to reject, she hung up and left office.
Some things should be explained clearly. Trouble was bound to come if things were left vague.
With this mindset, she hailed a cab and headed to Pei Family Real Estate’s headquarters.
Though she kept her eyes on the bustling streets outside, she was actually recounting last night’s incident at her second uncle’s villa.
Too many things had happened yesterday, and they were all a blur. She was too emotional and, with a tumultuous heart, did not think things properly.
Today, however, after thinking about yesterday’s incident, she realized that something was wrong with her second uncle and Pei Shishi.

The interior design of Pei Family Real Estate’s office was very different from Chenguang Real Estate’s. The latter had a minimalistic style, with white as its primary color scheme, yet it did not sacrifice the modern aspect of the design.
In contrast, Pei Family Real Estate’s company building had a grander interior.
Gold and wood were the primary colors used. The lighting and furniture were of more abstract designs.
Hence, Pei Family Real Estate gave off a grand and expensive look.
Thankfully, it did not have that nouveau-riche feel to it. Pei Zhenghui spent a large sum of money on the office building’s initial renovation, after all.
She approached the receptionist desk upon entering the lobby.
“Hello, I’m looking for CEO Pei,” she informed with a smile.
“May I know if you have an appointment?” the receptionist asked friendlily.
“Yes, I’m from the Pei family; your CEO Pei should be aware of my visit,” she confirmed.
“Okay. Please wait a while, Miss Pei.”

Soon, the receptionist smilingly informed, “Miss Pei, CEO Pei is waiting for you in his office; you can go up now.”
