Since that rainy day months ago things again returned to normal. Yueyue and Li Rong would meet for an hour or two every few days. Even though Li Ring distanced himself from Yu Yan, but she wasn't ready to let go. Zixi again watched from the shadows as everybody started revolving and clashing against each other. He had also made some progress in finding the culprits behind the mascarre of his family and started joining the beads one by one.
Yu Yan had recieved a call from one of her acquaintances from her years abroad. She didn't know the background of this person but she could instinctively tell that he wasn't someone she could mess around with. Therefore, she had always been careful while interacting with him. She had always felt that he had a keen interest in her elder sister and the people around her. She could also feel the malevolent feeling this person held towards Yueyue but as long as he helped her obtain the Yu family business she wasn't worried about the reasons behind his actions.
The person had called her to keep an eye on Yueyue and to tell him her daily itenary. She had been told the person wanted to give a big surprise to the Yu patriarch for playing him a fool all these years. She didn't want to let him have a handle on her so she simply sent him the required information and told him not to contact her if nothing further. Yu Yan didn't want to become his scapegoat if everything went topsy - turvy.
Zixi was driving Yueyue back to the Yu residence from the company.
"Last time we were not able to have a meal between the two of us. Today, regardless, I feel like cooking so I must fulfill my promise of having a dinner with you."
Listening to Yueyue Zixi felt a tightening in his stomach. He didn't know what had happened but Yueyue had taken a keen interest in cooking the past few weeks. She would find new recipes on the internet and make them at home. She was diligent in everything but unfortunately cooking didn't seem to be her forte. Even more unfortunately, the people who had to eat and review her cooking skills were limited to three - him, uncle and Li Rong. He didn't know how she could make even the simplest of recipes taste bland but none of them could say no to her so they trudged on this path of eating her food and telling her "It's better than last time. You have improved "
Lamenting his stomach, Zixi smiled and replied, "Why don't you rest tonight, Miss? You must be tried from all the work at the company."
Su Li looked at Zixi and asked, "Is my cooking really that bad?"
Zixi didn't know how to respond to her without hurting her sentiments and paving a way for his stomach to rest. So he simply smiled at her.
"Alright. I am magnanimous person. I'll listen to you and won't cook tonight." She huffed after her words and turned her head to the other side.
Watching her antics, Zixi smiled to himself and shook his head. Before he could coax her, a large van stopped at a right angle to their car infront of them. It was clearly visible from the position of the van that these people weren't friendly and had stopped them to make trouble.
Yueyue and Zixi looked at each other and could see the worry and anxiety in each other's eyes.
"Miss, you stay in the car. Lock all the car doors and windows properly. No matter what happens, don't open them."
Listening to his serious words, Su Li felt agitated and tried to stop him and held one of his hands.
Zixi looked at the hands that were trying to hold onto one of his to try and stop him from leaving the car. "Don't worry, Miss. Everything will be fine." Completing his words he opened the side door and went outside.
By this time a group of thugs had come out of their own cars. They saw the man had come out of the car while the woman was still inside.
"We are looking for her. This has nothing to do with you. Just stay at the side."
Zixi laughed at their words.
"She is mine. Obviously, it has everything to do with me."
At the same time everyone saw the girl open her side door and step out of the car.
"Stay in the car. Call the security detail or the police." Zixi was angry at Yueyue for not listening to his advice of staying locked in the car. She never listened to his words.
"We advice you not to do anything rash. We don't want to make things difficult for you."
Su Li had heard their words in the car.
"Why are you guys looking for me?"
"Ah! Miss, it's not us specifically but our boss who wants to meet the pretty lady. How about you come along with us quietly?"
"Your boss? Who is he? More importantly, is he a coward? He wouldn't come see me face to face but send people to bring me to him like some common thugs or gangsters?"
"Ah! Miss, he is at another place waiting for you. We will have to trouble you to follow us."
