“I see.” Chuncao teased as she was combing her hair, “yesterday afternoon her lady said that your cousin is coming today. Is it why you are so happy?”

Chuncao thought Xia Liang was missing a man. It was true that Xia Liang was missing someone but not her cousin.

Xia Liang frowned and said coldly, “why should I be happy about that?”

“Huh?” Chuncao was surprised that Xia Liang could be this cold and also confused, “you are happy every time he comes.”

“I was.” Xia Liang corrected her, “tell my mother that I am under the weather. And excuse me for not visiting her because I am about to take rest.”

“Yes.” Chuncao said, “but she will be worried about you.”

“If she is worried about me, you can tell her the truth.” Xia Liang said.

“Liang is not feeling well? Is she having another fever?” Wang was worried about her daughter right away and was about to see for herself.

“My lady.” Chuncao added, “in fact, she is all right. She said that because her cousin is coming today.”

“I get it!” Wang sat down with a smile, “she must be feeling shy in front of her cousin.”

Chuncao opened her mouth but didn’t say a word. Xia Liang didn’t look like she was shy. Instead she was indifferent.

When Shao Yang and his sister Shao Xue came over, Wang received them with a smile.

After they had a chitchat, Shao Yang sat there absent-minded, keep looking at the gate and looking forward to seeing someone.

Wang smiled because she knew that he looked forward to seeing Liang.

Wang was glad that Shao Yang cared so much about her daughter. She believed that Shao Yang would treat her daughter well after they got married.

“Aunt, how can I not see cousin today?” Shao Xue asked as she knew it very well what her brother was thinking of.

“She is not feeling very well.” Wang frowned and sighed, “since she had a serious illness, she was not as healthy as before. Now she needs more rest.”

“She is not feeling well?! Has she seen a doctor?” Shao Yang sounded anxiously and looked like he was concerned a lot. he wished he could rush out to see his cousin if he could.

“She is fine. We’ve got a doctor for her.” Wang was more satisfied with Shao Yang’s response, “when she is feeling well, I will take her to visit your mother. We haven’t seen each other for a long time.”

“Yes.” Shao Xue smiled, “my mother would love to see cousin. But she is occupied with taking care of my one-year-old brother. Otherwise, she would come and visit you.”

“Can I go and see my cousin? She must be bored being alone. I can go and have a chitchat with her.” Shao Xue suggested.

“Liang’s maid told me that she had already fallen asleep. She might be in bed right now.” Wang refused politely. Since her daughter pretend to be sick, as a mother, she, of course, would play along.

Since they didn’t see Xia Liang, the Shao siblings left a short while later.

At the moment, Xia Liang was thinking seriously, holding a pen in hand, as though she was facing a big problem.

“Liang, writing a love letter is a must and also the first step to pursue a man. I know a lot of love poems. Do you want some?” 9957 advised excitedly.

“Show me.” Xia Liang read and picked all those poems, looking seriously. Finally she made her choice and wrote it down.

The original Xia Liang’s calligraphy was beautiful and typical girl’s writing. But Xia Liang made it look more rigid and less girly.

After she wrote it, she added at the bottom, “look forward to meeting you.”

She put the note into an envelope, then went to the yard, observed for a while and shouted in a direction, “I have something for your master. It’s very important.”

A hidden guard in that direction gave it a thought and finally showed up.

“Give it to your master, thank you.” Xia Liang said coldly, handing the envelop to him.

The guard gave her a look, said nothing, took over the letter and put it into his pocket before he hid himself.

At night, Baili Jue received a journal about Xia Liang’s life of the day and also the first love letter from her.

Baili Jue first read the journal recorded by the guard. He was unhappy when he learned that Xia Liang’s cousin visited but felt less unhappy since Xia Liang refused to see her cousin.

He was pleased by Xia Liang’s performance and there was even a smile on the corners of his lips.

“What is this?” Baili Jue picked up the letter but didn’t open it immediately. He asked the guard.

“Miss Xia asked me to give it to you. She said it is very important.” The guard answered.

Baili Jue raised his eyebrows and got curious. He opened the envelop and was amazed by her handwriting which was so much like her.

It was clean, pure, simple and a bit of soft.

When he read the poem on the paper, he coughed a lot and his ears blushed.

Next moment he covered the paper upside down on the table and questioned the guard seriously, “have you read the letter?”

“I haven’t, your majesty.” The guard knelt down and answered, sweat all over his body.

“Hum.” Baili Jue said, “you can go now. Mark my words! Do not read whatever she writes!”

“Yes.” The guard was shocked and wondered what Miss Xia wrote to the emperor.

Why is the emperor acting so weird and strong? Is it some important intelligence about the country?

After the guard left, Baili Jue turned the paper over and started to read the poem again and again, although his facial expression was funny.
