Everyone would just simply disregard the team arrangements and chas after the ball that was rolling on the field. We definitely could make use of those gaps, but in our current situation, I had no time nor composure to explain all that to everyone here.
At the very least, I had to make sure that my party could move while seeing through the entire battlefield. I think I’m really lucky because my party could move and think the same things as me.

Though the war cry of the players and goblins were resounding in the entire battlefield, the side who lost most of their forces was the goblin side. As expected, on our side, that was the case with the players in the frontline.
Me and Yukihime-san weren’t charging into our enemies, we eliminated the goblins who escaped the vanguard net of players.
Nevertheless, I quickly ran out of bullets and the number of goblins that pushed through the bombardment was between 10 to 20, but I could still inflict some damage by sending them flying with a kick or decapitating their head with my knife. The defense stats of the goblins were set to be lower than those of humans, even my barehanded punch caused quite a large amount of damage to them.
By the way, Mop-san was currently on standby behind us. He was there as an insurance for when we made a mistake.
「Sou-kun, I don’t see any signs of chaos for now. What should I do? 」
「I have nothing to say since I can’t overlook the entire battlefield from my position, but this situation won’t persist for long. Where’s the direction of the ripple coming from in the formation? I think the tables are going to be turned from there.」[Ed: How the turn have tables]
The current situation at the east gate – the army of goblins――Of unknown numbers―― was clashing against around a thousand players. To be exact, the goblin army was using a fish scale formation that resembled triangles against the players who wouldn’t even know the “F” in formation and just clumped up together like dumplings. If this was a clash of players against monsters of the same level, our group would have been destined to be annihilated in the first clash.
The only reason it didn’t turn that way was because of the difference between the war potential of goblins and players. No matter how I looked at this situation, it was still strange.
The advantage of the fish scale formation is that they can easily replace the fallen soldiers with the ones from the back. In short, it’s a tactic best used in a war of attrition against an enemy that comes from the front.
And against that formation our group of players was charging at their enemies from the front like idiots. At this rate, our enemies were going to break through the formation sooner or later. Well, it would have been scarier if there were people who could adapt to this kind of situation without training and experiences.
「Our enemies are going for a war of attrition. It would be okay if we could beat them in a war of attrition, but I think that’s a bit too much for the players in this place. To be honest, I want to form a different assault team for a surprise attack」
The weak point of the fish scale formation is the fact that it’s weak against attacks from the back and from the sides. Our side has a higher fire power in exchange for our fewer numbers. I think dispatching a hundred man assault team is enough to reverse the flow of this battle.
「No human can organize that sort of team in such short time. Naturally me included. That’s why we’re going to rely on Blue’s information for now.」
Blue was looking for the sign in the enemy formation that I asked her to look for. I shouldn’t make a careless move before I received her report.
「It can’t be helped. Moreover, none of the player would notice such things.」
「No, I think there are players who noticed, but understanding it in your head and changing your action accordingly is a completely different matter.」
Some gamers should have noticed this simple tactic by now, right? This was just a possibility, but I think the players who chose to step back and dealt with the enemies that broke the net were like minded people. But it’s too dangerous to go now.
If we lose here, the goblins are going to destroy the gate and then invade the city. The players who fought with those goblins in a free barred arena should’ve already moved to intercept the first wave. I’m pretending that the enemies before me are an illusion.
That failed too. I couldn’t expect a group of children who were playing soccer for the first time to work together efficiently. Being unable to keep up with our pace with the ever changing flow of the battlefield, we might end up with the city raided by the goblin armies.
Nevertheless, it was too soon to give up. While seeing those goblins turned into particles of light one after another, I was waiting for the right moment.

My enemy is the whole army. Moreover, it’s an united army who had grown to the point of being able to form a systematic formation. There’s something that must exist for that to happen – A unit who had become the head of this army and was giving its order to each of the goblin division.
Seeing that the assault team plan couldn’t be realized, the single most effective way to change the flow of the war was to eliminate their leader. This is the only way.
After telling my gratitude to Blue-san, me along with Yukihime-san and Mop-san who just summoned his big wild boar headed towards the left side of the formation.
