Chapter 02 – Rebirth
Pain spread through Ye Qingtang's body without warning, the feeling of getting her heart ripped and lungs crushed seems to devour her in an instant. She opened her eyes suddenly and the scene in front of her was no longer the snow-covered Lingyun cliff.
"Tang Tang, you're finally awake." A weary voice rang near Ye Qingtang's ears.
Her heart shuddered upon hearing that voice.

How long had it been since she last heard it?
Turning her line of sight instinctively, she was astonished to see the middle-aged man with a weary face standing next to her.
"Father…" Ye Qingtang stared at what she witnessed in utter disbelief. When she struggled to get up, the man hurriedly supported her.
"Tang Tang, your body hasn't recovered from your spirit root shattering. You'll need to take care and rest well, don't be in a hurry to get up." Ye Ling, the head of the Ye household looked at his daughter with worry while speaking with a heavy heart.
Ye Qingtang widened her eyes in astonishment.
What's going on?
Didn't she destroy her heart on Lingyun cliff? Why wasn't she dead?
And her father… He had already died at the hands of the Great Elder three hundred years ago, how was he… here?
A barrage of questions surfaced in Ye Qingtang's mind and from the corner of her eyes, the surroundings that came into view finally made her realize where she was. Her own room at the Ye household from centuries ago.
"Tang Tang, even if you have lost your spirit root, you father still cares for you. You don't have to pay heed to what others have to say, just rest assure and recover from your illness." Ye Ling, though having realized Ye Qingtang's eccentricity and absentmindedness assumed the cause to be trauma.
Only Ye Qingtang herself knew about the shocking revelation of her current situation.
Not only was she alive, she had even traveled back in time to the Ye household from three hundred years ago!
Looking at her father in front of her, tears started to form in Ye Qingtang's eyes. Her past self from three hundred years ago was an incompetent weakling who could only look on helplessly as her father and her doting second uncle were persecuted and killed by Ye You's grandfather, the Great Elder of the Ye household. But now, though unwillingly, she had never expected to have returned!
Ye Qingtang gradually sat up on her bed. Looking at her father's worry-stricken face, she diligently tried to collect herself.
At this point in time in her past, she just had her spirit root taken by Ye You. But due to the Great Elder threatening her with her father's life, she had to conceal the truth by claiming that she shattered her own spirit root voluntarily.
The Ye Qingtang of the past believed that she could ensure her father's safety as long as she put up with this grievance, but little did she know….
The Great Elder, having a majority of the Ye household under his control, had since slowly poisoned her father by spiking his meals.
