"Ring" Reeya stared at her phone.

She took a took breath before answering, "Hello,"

"Come home." It was her Aunt. She ordered her an icy voice as if directing a servant.

She couldn't believe her ears.

Home?

Was it her home?

Reeya asked with sarcasm, "Why?"

She long left 'home'. It was home but it didn't belong to her. Moreso she wasn't welcomed anymore.
But a question arose in her. Why would she call?
For more than six years, this Aunt never cared even if she was alive, so why did she suddenly call?

"Ama wants to see you." Aunt didn't say a word more.

Hearing this, a feeling of dread rose in her heart.

"Amma, is she oke? What happened?" She held her breath to hear her Aunt's answer clear.

Grandma would call her secretly. If she wanted to meet her, as always she would call her directly. Why make her aunt call her?
"She is sick. She wants to see you last time." The calmness in her voice would surprise anyone who heard it.

But those words froze her to ground. "last time?"

She had talked with Ama last month. There was no way she was ill.

"What happened to her?" Her voice shook as she grasped a chair's armrest to support her soft body.

"Come back and we talk." With this, she hung the call.

Reeya couldn't think anymore. She ran out of her apartment and pulled up a taxi. In half an hour she reached her aunt's place.

All the way she was praying.

She will be alright.

Yes!

Only one in the entire world who cared for her. Her last family...

This motherless child was spoiled by her father. But she soon lost his support as well when she turned eight. Reeya became an orphan that day.

Once she reached the place, she dashed to the door.

"Keep your shoes out." Aunt pointed at the gate.

They had to remove the shoes out of the house but in confusion, she rushed inside.

She glanced at her aunt who stood adamant before her. Her voice was dry and unwelcoming. But keeping the bitterness in she nodded and removed her shoes.

She got in and saw her grandmother had become so frail like a twig.

How did she lose so much weight? The face was puffy as opposed to her feeble body. It looked as if she suffered from a chronic disease. Ama concealed it from her for long maybe years.

"Amma." she tried her best to control her emotions and called out.

Fright fluttered in her chest when Amma didn't show any response.

"Amma..." A tragic cry rose from her throat.
