Chen Xiaobei felt as if he had gone back to the ancient times. Everything around him bore an ancient Chinese flair of a beautiful garden city.

That was why the higher ranking of a starfield, the closer its environment and customs were to ancient China.
Chen Xiaobei stepped down from the portal, his eyes eagerly surveying.
He was fascinated to see that most of the people walking on the streets had a fluffy foxtail growing from behind them.
Such was the main feature Green Hill's citizens.
Bai Linsu had told him that the people of Green Hill Starfield were very different from the Demonic Foxes of the ancient times.
In the past, all Demonic Foxes were of the real Demonic Fox race. Through cultivation, they were able to transmute into a human form.
Green Hill Starfield's residents, on the other hand, were a special breed of half-beast who, at the end of the day, still belonged to the human race.
Of course, these were all not important!
Right now, what Chen Xiaobei was most concerned about was finding out the identity of the baby in the Empress' womb.
He remembered what the Prime of Tongtian told him – that as soon as Chen Xiaobei had found Little Fox, Lady Nuwo would reacquaint them.
That was why the longing in Chen Xiaobei's heart had reached its end. He desperately wanted to run into Green Hill's palace and find out for himself.
Unfortunately, it was unrealistic for him to do that.
The power of the Green Hill's royalty aside, getting Bai Linsu's approval on this was by itself an impossible task.

Chen Xiaobei found an empty street corner. and removed his mask. He then released Bai Linsu and Long Hushuang from the Verdant Emperor's Divine Gourd.
Linghu Shuang complained as soon as she got out. "Big Bro Chen! What took you so long to get to the portal? Sifu and I were nearly bored to death inside the gourd!"
"I did something earth shattering and that's delayed us a little!" Chen Xiaobei shrugged, smiling coolly.
"Will you die if you don't brag?" Linghu Shuang snarled.
"Shuang'er! Don't be unreasonable with Mr. Chen!" Bai Linsu scolded.
"I was not being unreasonable! He is bragging! Ouch!" Linghu Shuang protested when Bai Linsu knocked her on the head.
"This is Green Hill's main planet! Pay attention to what you say and do!" Bai Linsu warned.
"Yes, Sifu!" Linghu Shuang nodded in guilt.
"Sister Bai, the both of you better hurry up and meet the Empress! I'll be waiting to hear from you!" Chen Xiaobei said keenly.
Bai Linsu nodded. "Mm, I have to get to the palace now, but I cannot guarantee that I will be able to tell you everything I hear!"

He put the mask back on and found a decent-looking restaurant on the street.
As soon as he entered, a steward greeted him warmly, "Is there only one guest? Are you here for a meal or tea?"
After all, Chen Xiaobei was wearing the disguise of an elderly man in an August black robe – the steward would not dare neglect such a senior guest.
"A pot of tea and some snacks!" Chen Xiaobei said. "Find me a quiet place to sit, preferably by the window!"
"Yes! Please come in!" The steward invited Chen Xiaobei in, smiling sunnily at him.
The shop's main pedestal was pretty busy so the steward led Chen Xiaobei up to a seat by the window on the second floor, where it was quieter.
Chen Xiaobei's order arrived quickly.
He then took a sip of tea, and a bite of the dessert, and looked out the window contentedly.
When he thought about receiving news about Little Fox, his mood became exceptionally good.

Suddenly, loud, powerful footsteps walked up the stairs. There were at least ten of them.
The steward who attended to Chen Xiaobei was leading the way, an anxious smile plastered across his face.
Chen Xiaobei glanced at the group of men and saw that it was group of men dressed in black and had a black combat saber strung on their waist. All of them were at least two meters tall, broad-shouldered and brawny.
The only one who was different was their leader!
He was only about 1.7 meters tall. Scrawny and pale, he appeared rather sickly.
Chen Xiaobei had merely taken a peek at them; he dared not observe them for too long.
Before she left, Bai Linsu had warned him not to get involved with any Green Hill's foxes with black tails!
The men's tails were mostly red, grey and brown.
Their leader though, had a jet-black tail, and not a hair out place.
Right now, all Chen Xiaobei wanted was to get news about Little Fox as soon as possible.
He had no interest at all in these unwelcome guests.
Don't look, don't ask, don't care.
If he just sat there quietly and enjoyed the view, problems would not come knocking at his door.
Sure enough, the men did not pay any attention to Chen Xiaobei. They settled down around a large table on the other side, and busied themselves their food and liquor.
Concurrently, Bai Linsu was received by the person in charge and had successfully entered the palace.
Because of her special status, she was allowed to go through a secret route which was heavily guarded by a pair of elite guards stationed at every hundred meters. The guards were dressed in black armor with their hands placed cautiously on their saber which were strapped against their waist. Most notably, all of the guards shared a common trait – they all had pure black foxtails!
