Making love in the pool made me exhausted. I was so tired that Troy have carried me to bed earlier.
When I open my eyes it was dark outside. 'What time is it?' I wondered.
"What happened?" Troy's voice came from the veranda outside. It looks like he was on the phone talking to someone.
"What is she trying to accomplish now? After she left and took the money that dad offered." Troy's voice was filled with irritation. This was the first time I heard him like this. He was always cool headed.
"I don't understand what she wants mom. When I tried looking for her she didn't want to be found. Now that I have forgotten about her and Jill is in my life she just bursts in unannounced." Troy was furious.
"I don't give a fuck mom. She may have saved my life but after she took that sum of money and didn't want me to find her that's the time I have cut my ties with her. I can't forget the fact that because of my infatuation towards her father died." Troy pressed his temples.
"Don't she dare go near Jill. Tell her I'm warning her. I don't want anything to do with her." Troy sighed. "Mom please. Jill is pregnant. I don't want to give her any stress. Please take care of this."
There was a pause for a moment.
"Okay, bye." Troy ended the call. I see Troy enter.
"Did I wake you up?" Troy asked when he saw me sitting up on the bed.
"You weren't beside me." I explained. Troy knows that I always wake up when he leaves my side when I'm asleep.
"Sorry love. I have to take mom's call." Troy said sitting down beside me. "Did you hear our conversation?" He asked gently. I know he doesn't want to hide anything from me but he also doesn't want to stress me out now that I'm pregnant.
I nodded. "Is somthing the matter back at home? Is it about Angeline?" I asked calmly. I know that this topic will be discussed inevitably.
Troy sighed. "Mom called saying that Angeline wants to talk to me and apologize."
"If that's the case then why don't you talk to her when we get back?" I said. I know that closure is the best way to heal old wounds.
"I have tried that in the past love. It was her who always run away." Troy said.
"I heard you said that your father gave her money to leave you?" I asked. I was rather curious.
"Yes that's true. It was mom who told me that." Troy answered. "She was given a large sum of money to leave me and she accepted. She left me and every time I find her she would run away before I get there."
"I was a fool back then, blinded by my infatuation for her. When she had run away countless times that was when I realized that she never really loved me and what she loved about me was money." Troy explained.
"Oh Troy." I can feel that the young Troy in the past was hurt by his first love. I feel pained for him. I hug him close to me.
"Don't worry love it's all in the past. I don't know what she wants now. After all this time, she just returns in our lives. Jill if she comes near you promise me to avoid her okay. I don't want to stress you out because of this. I feel that she wants something more than forgiveness from me." Troy said. His emerald green eyes were burning. He was serious with his words.
"I understand." I agreed to what Troy said. If what Troy suspect is true then Angeline isn't here with good intentions.
"That's good." Troy's face smoothen out and a smile appeared on his face. He kissed my forehead gently. "Now go to sleep. We have a long flight ahead of us."
"Hmm." I nodded. Troy tucked me in and spoon hugged me from behind.
"I love you Jill, only you. Remember that." Troy assured me.
With his spoken words I felt safe. Just a little bit and I fell asleep.
