Andrea and I reached the doctor's clinic. "Good morning Mrs. Versales. Please seat down for a while. I'll tell the doctor you have arrived." The doctor's assistant said. "Thank you." I said and took a sit. Andrea took the seat right next to me. The assistant stood up and entered the doctor's office. It was quiet inside the clinic. I was the only patient here now. After a while the assistant came out of the office. "Mrs. Versales, the doctor will see you now." The assistant said with a smile. "Okay." I smiled. I stood up from my sit and Andrea was there to help me up. "Careful now." Andrea said while holding my hand to support me. "Thank you Andie." "No problem." We walked inside the office. The doctor was sitting behind her desk. "Mrs. Versales, good to see you." The doctor greeted me. "It's good to see you too doctor." I smiled. "How are you and your little angel. Is the morning sickness easing up?" The doctor asked. "We're doing well doctor. This little bump has been getting bigger and bigger. I can feel some small movements now." I smiled while caressing my tummy. "I only seldom get morning sickness now. My appetite has increased lately." "Hmm that's good. You're in your 2nd trimester now. Looks like this little one is getting big fast." The doctor said. "Come and lie down here. Let me check this little one's heart beat." The doctor stood up and lead me to the clinic bed. Andrea helped me up the clinic bed at the corner of the doctor's office. I lie down slowly. The doctor get her fetal doppler in one of her cabinets. "Can you please get me some gel." The doctor ordered her assistant. "Yes doctor." The assistant searched thru the cabinets at the far end corner. "Just relax okay." The doctor told me. I nodded. The assistant gave the doctor a container that contains gel. "I'm going to pull up your skirt, okay?" The doctor asked and I nodded. "This will be cool to the touch." The doctor placed gel on my tummy. As she has said it was really cold. I involuntary shivered but I got used to the feeling in no time. "This is a fetal doppler. This helps us hear the baby's heart beat inside." The doctor explained. "Are you ready?" "Yes doctor." I replied. The the doctor turned on the doppler. She first gently placed it on top of my tummy and made circles around it. "I'm going to press a little harder okay? Please bear with it." The doctor said and I nodded. The doctor pressed a little harder and I felt pain but I endured it. 'Lub-dub, lub-dub, lub-dub' we hear a heart beat from the doppler device. I felt a wave of emotions hearing the sounds. I was feeling happy and ecstatic. Tears are started to build up in my eyes. "There you are. Can you hear that Mrs. Versales? Looks like this little one has a strong and healthy heart beat." The doctor said. The doctor was about to put the doppler away when it pressed on the other side of my tummy. "Oh, wait." The doctor looked confused. "What is it doctor?" I asked worriedly. We can still hear the healthy heart beat of my baby. "Don't worry Mrs. Versales, everything is fine. I just need to confirm something." The doctor assured me. "Please prepare the ultrasound machine." She ordered her assistant. "Yes doctor." The assistant left to get the machine and prepare for the things. "I just need to check inside with ultrasound okay. No need to worry." The doctor reassured me. "Okay." I replied. After a moment the assitant got back with the machine and the things the doctor needed. The doctor prepped the ultrasound machine and started to press some buttons. "Mrs. Versales this will be like what I did earlier." The doctor explained. She put some gel again on top of my belly. She pressed a device that is connected with the ultrasound machine on my tummy and like a while ago made circles on top. "Look at the screen Mrs. Versales, here's your baby." The doctor gestured. I look into the screen and I see a little baby. I can see the head and his little body. He was has complete with two little hands and feet. "Oh my." The doctor said surprised. "My hunch was correct. Mrs. Versales you are carrying twins. Congratulations." The doctor gave me a smile. "Twins?!" I said dumbfounded. I looked at the screen again and there I saw another little baby beside the first one I saw. Like the other one he also has a little head, two hands and feet. Tears are now running down my eyes. I can't contain my emotions any longer. "My little angels." I said softly. "Congratulations Mrs. Verslaes. Looks like they are fraternal twins." The doctor said.
