I was in my office like any other work day. As usual work has been hectic. Not only the normal work but also the plans for the N city Grand Mall is now in full throttle. Adrian has been very accomodating these past few meetings. He has stopped being overbearing so the plans are going on smoothly. 'Knock knock' "Jillian, bad news." Andrea barged in. "What is it?" I asked curiously. "I just heard the news from James." Andrea said. "Andrea, just tell me already." I told her. "Angeline got out on bail." Andrea said. She was in disbelief. "So she got out of detention?" I asked calmly. "Yes, that's it." Andrea said. "Why do you look so calm?" "Well I was expecting something like this to happen." I confessed. "What? But how did you know?" Andrea was curious. "I suspect that someone is helping her out. Not even me, Troy also suspects this." I said calmly. "How could you be so calm knowing this?" Andrea asked. "I'm not calm at all." I confessed. There are many questions inside my head that need answers. But for now I can't do anything about it. Troy said he will deal with it and that I focus on my pregnancy for now. I just hope that we catch this person as soon as possible so that we could have a peaceful life with our twins. "Troy has promised me he would handle this." I smiled at Andrea so that she won't worry anymore. "I am sure he will find a way to solve this problem." "That's good to hear." Andrea sighed in relief. "With Troy by your side, I know you are in good hands." *** Angeline opened the door to her apartment. It was dim inside and the lights were off. She had been detained at the police station for a week now and just got home. When she turned the lights on she jumped in fright. Inside the living room just adjacent to the entrance was Adrian. He was sitting on the couch with his legs crossed. He was feeling well at home. "Good evening Angeline." Adrian smiled. But his smile was sinister. Angeline shivered in fear. "A-Adrian. What are you doing here?" Angeline asked. She knows that there is no place that Adrian won't know of. But she was surprised that he was in her apartment at this time and was waiting in the dark until she returned. Adrian stood up and put his hands on his pockets. "Can't I get a thank you first?" Adrian asked teasingly. "I was the one that got you out after all." "T-Thanks." Angeline said awkwardly. "Did you know why I only helped you now rather than much earlier?" Adrian asked with amusement. Angeline finds this scary. She can't read this man's expression at all. He is the best jester that there can ever be. "N-no. I do not know, why?" Angeline was scared. She can feel something sinister in Adrian. "You made a move without my knowing. Made a scene in the Versales' house. And on top of that, you tried to kill Jill." Adrian said with an evil tone. Angeline shivered in fear. Her knees felt like jello and gave in under her. She dropped down on the floor. "I'm sorry. I-I didn't mean to... it was in the spur of the moment." Angeline was now crying in fear. "You didn't mean to? You think I will accept such lies from you?" Adrian's voice was now sinister. "Just because Troy didn't chose you. Just because you knew that your child with him didn't live." Angeline was now trembling in fear. She knows that Adrian is now infatuated with Jill. And judging by his actions now, Adrian can kill anyone that harms Jill in anyway. "I'm sorry. I won't do it again. I wasn't thinking clearly. I let my emotions get the best of me." Angeline was now kneeling in front of Adrian. Her tears were flowing down her eyes. "You know what I can do to you." Adrian said with a cold tone. "I brought you here and I can also make you disappear." "Please forgive me Adrian. I won't do it again." Angeline was begging. She knows that her life is on the line. "It really won't happen again." Adrian chuckled. "Now that the news of your son with Troy was a stillborn, you are of no use to me now." Angeline was trembling in fear. "But do not worry. You may still have some use to me in the future." Adrian smiled evilly. "I will take you out of the city for now." Men wearing black suits came inside Angeline's apartment. "They will take you to a safe place far from the prying eyes of Troy." Adrian said. "He is starting to investigate things about you. I am sure he is suspecting someone is behind you. So for now you need to vanish from their sight." Adrian gestured to the men in black. They took Angeline by the arm and pulled her to stand up. "Adrian, please don't kill me. I promise, I will do everything you tell me." Angeline begged again. "Don't worry Angeline, I won't kill you. You have my word." Adrian had a sinister smile. "As I said your still have some use to me." "R-Really?" Angeline asked and Adrian nodded. "Take her." Adrian ordered the men in black. They drag Angeline outside the apartment. "But my things?" Angeline asked confused. "I will tell them to arrange your things here and bring it to you later."? Adrian said. After that the men in black took Angeline out of the apartment. Adrian looked around the small apartment. Angeline's belongings were not that much. Packing things up will be done in no time. He gestured to the men in black that was still remaining to pack up the things. The men bowed and moved quickly getting the things outside. Adrian saw red roses in a vase on a vanity table. He took one stem and smelled it. "It seems that acquiring you is a difficult task, Jillian." Adrian said while looking at the red rose. "My chess piece screwed up. So I have to think of something else." He cut the roses thorny stems and put the rose in his suit pocket. "You look much more beautiful there without your thorns." Adrian said while looking at the rose inside his suit pocket.
