By the afternoon, our close friends arrived one by one. It was a great day so Troy and I decided to walk by the shore. I can hear the waves slowly crashing by the shore. It was calming to hear the sounds. Troy was holding my hand while we are walking. "How are you feeling?" Troy asked me. "I'm doing good." I answered him. "It was really a great idea to come here. It has been ages the last time I came here." "I'm glad you liked it." Troy smiled. "It was father who proposed to go here." "Did you tell daddy about my dream?" I stopped and looked at him. "Don't worry, I didn't." Troy chuckled. "I just said that you were stressed lately and these last few weeks of your pregnancy will be more stressful." "Well talking about that. It's just a few weeks away now." I look at my bulging tummy. "I can't wait to meet them." Troy placed his hand on my tummy. And just at the right time the twins moved suddenly. "Awww. Haha did you feel that?" I asked in surprise. Their sudden movement caused some pain. "Yes." Troy looked amazed with the twins sudden movements. "Are you okay?" "It hurt a little." I confessed. "Their sudden movements like that are a little painful but still manageable. I am thinking if they still have enough space inside." "I can imagine them feeling cramped in their." Troy teased. "Haha. I am sure they would want to go out. But they still need to stay inside for a little more." I said. Troy looked at me affectionately. "I am excited for their arrival. Once they come out, then we would be one big happy family." I can already imagine Troy being a great father. I am sure he would shower our babies with love and affection like what he was giving me. Then the water splashed at our feet. We didn't realize that the tide was starting to go up. I took my slippers off and felt the sand under my feet. The water feels cold and refreshing. "Let's walk some more before going back." I told Troy. "Hmm okay." Troy agreed and smiled. We walked hand in hand in the water. *** The sun was about to set when we arrived at the back porch of the rest house. The grill was stationed there. We see our friends, father, and aunty Janet chatting happily. Gerald was the one in charge of grilling and James was helping him. Teena and Andrea were happily chatting while arranging the meat and veggies. "Oh look who's back?" Shawn asked teasingly. "Come, some meat has just been cooked. And I brought some beer. Of course what's a barbecue if there are no cold beers." He chuckled. Troy and I walked towards them hand in hand. Shawn opened a bottle of cold beer and gave it to Troy. He took it and took a sip. "Thanks." Troy said clicking bottles with Shawn. "How envious." I said with a frown. The beer looks cold and tasty. "I know right." Teena seconded the motion. She too is pregnant like me so alcohol is a no-no. "Can't I take just a little sip?." Teena had puppy dog eyes. "No." Gerald said firmly. "Pretty please?" Teena said sweetly. "No means no." Gerald said with a straight face. "The doctor said to stay clear of alcoholic beverage." "Hmph." Teena had a sour look. I giggled while looking at this couple. "Gerald is right Teena." I said. "That was what my doctor also told me. It's for the baby's health." "I know." Teena sighed. "It just looks really tasty." Gerald stared spikes at Shawn. "What?" Shawn asked looking innocent. "I just thought of bringing some bottles because this was a barbecue." "It's okay Shawn. Don't mind him." I patted Shawn's shoulders. "Don't worry I also brought some fruit juice as well." Shawn said. "There are apple, grape, and orange juices in the ice chest." "Did you say apple juice?" I asked excitedly. "Yup." Shawn smiled. "I know you love apple juice." I excitedly walked towards the ice chest and opened it to get a bottle of apple juice. "You know her whims well." Troy smiled. "Yup. Know her from head to toe." Shawn smiled looking at me. "The corn is ready. Who wants some?" Gerald asked. "Oh, me me." I said happily. "Just sit down beside father." Troy told me. "I'll get you some corn and meat." "Okay." I smiled happily. I sat down beside father and aunty Janet. "You still love apple juice." Aunty Janet said. "Your mother always gave you apple juice with your snacks when you were young." "Ahuh." I nodded. "I remember mom making snacks for me like cookies and cupcakes. She always served them with apple juice." "I remember your were a little trouble maker back then." Father said. "Me, a trouble maker?" I asked surprised. "I thought I was an angel?" "Hahaha yes you looked like an angel." Father laughed. "But while you are playing outside, you would often go home dirty." "And I remember one time when you plucked some roses from your mother's garden." Aunty Janet exclaimed. "Your were full of dirt. Your mother was furious." "Really?" I asked. I didn't remember mother scolding me. "She didn't get mad because you plucked her roses. She got mad because your hands were full of scratches from the rose's thorns. And they were bleeding." Father said. I tried to remember this but can't seem to remember. "You were still so little. Maybe three or four years old. No wonder you can't remember." Aunty Janet said. "Here's the barbecue." Troy arrives with a plate and the corn and meet are in it. My mouth started to water. I took a corn and started eating it. "Careful now. It still might be hot." Troy smiled. Then he looked at my father. "How is your blood pressure and heart father?" "I'm taking my daily meds, not to worry." Father replied. "I'm still young and would last until my grandkids marries and have a family of their own. Hahaha." "That's good to hear daddy." I felt relief hearing my fathers words. I would really want him to stay even longer.
