It was afternoon and I have get a hang on skiing. Troy was a great teacher. We were at the resort's cafeteria having a snack. I was having hot chocolate and a bagel. I was sitting with my father and Shawn. Troy left a while ago because he had a call from work.
"How was your skiing lessons?" father asked.
"I'm doing good. Troy is a great teacher. I'm getting a hang of it." I said. I sip a little from my cup.
"You could have learned faster if I was the teacher." Shawn said.
"I'm sure you're good as well." I smile at him.
"Hmph. When I was your age I can ski at the highest level." father said bragging.
"I'm sure you are the best daddy." I praised him. I giggled. It's cute to see my father trying to compete with these two beautiful men. For me he will always be the number one man in my life. I am so happy now that he was giving me the fatherly affection I've yearned for. I won't wish for anything else.
"What a coincidence." I hear a familiar voice. When I look at my back I see a woman wearing a pink winter jacket and black pants. It was Julia.
"You're also here in this resort." Julia chimed. "Hello father." he gives father a peck on the cheek. "Hello Shawn." she gave him a sweet smile.
Shawn just gave her a nod and didn't say anything. Julia was clearly displeased.
"Julia. What brings you here?" father asked.
"A friend asked me to come here." Julia said. Then three people came near. One woman and two men. Julia introduced them. I looked at their faces then I saw a familiar one. My body started to tremble. I don't know if it was because of fear or anger. The man standing near Julia was the man that defiled me, Brad. I can't forget those light brown eyes and dark brown curly hair. How he had defiled my body that night. I shivered.
"This is Brad. He was friends with Shawn and Queenie in college. But I guess Queenie won't remember because she has amnesia." Julia said. "He has been in Australia for 8 years now. He has just returned to N city a few days ago."
Brad was looking at me with wide eyes and shock.
"Oh you haven't heard the news I guess, because you have just returned. Jill didn't die in the accident. She was saved but got amnesia and can't remember anything." Julia said and smirked.
"Jill..." Brad was walking slowly towards me. 'I have to stop shivering. I have to act that I don't remember him.' I tried to compose myself. But then someone stood between me and Brad. It was Shawn. He was giving Brad a look like he was about to kill him. Brad took a step back.
"I'm sorry. But do I know you." with Shawn by my side I have gathered my courage. I took a peak behind Shawn. I looked at Brad in the eyes.
"Um I..I was your friend." Brad stuttered.
"Oh. I'm sorry if I can't remember you." I said apologetic. I'm getting a hang of myself again.
"Bullshit!" Shawn said loudly. "I don't want to see you anywhere near Queenie." He took my hand and we left the cafeteria.
Brad was left with a shocked look.
"I'm sorry about that Brad. I guess Shawn hasn't forgiven you yet." Julia said sadly.
Father also stood up in his seat. He gave a cold look at Julia and Brad.
"Your father is a good friend of mine boy. He has kneeled down before me and begged me after what happened to you and Jill. He offered marriage between the two of you after what you've done. But what you did was unforgivable. So he has sent you away to Australia so I won't see you again and persecute you of what happened. It has been 8 years now. I am not yet willing to forgive you but at least for the sake of your father's and my friendship I didn't persecute you. But I don't want you near my daughter. If ever you do something again I won't give you the easy way out." father said with a cold and stern voice. Brad shivered.
"And you young lady. I'm so disappointed in you." father said to Julia.
"Wait father. I didn't mean to..." Julia said but father walked away not looking back again.
Julia clenched her fists. She looked at Brad who was still looking the way Queenie has gone. She smiled to herself.
