Father has gone to where Victoria was being operated. He only left my side after he knew that my operation was a success and I was being transferred to my private room to recuperate.
Julia was seen sitting in one of the chairs crying. She had change from her bridal gown to a more casual dress. Brad was indifferent to her. He just stood there not even caring on soothing his crying wife.
"Father!" Julia saw father arriving from a distance. She ran towards him. "What happened? Why is mother hurt and why are there police officers here?" Julia bombarded father many questions.
"Julia, did you know what your mother was up to?" Father have Julia a serious look.
"What do you mean father?" Julia gave a questioning look. "I don't understand."
"Your mother is a suspect in your sister's kidnapping and attempted murder." Father said.
"That's impossible! Mother would never do such a thing. She's being set up. Please believe me father." Julia was begging and crying he heart out.
"The evidence are all there Julia. You can't save your mother." Father said. "Are you part of this?" Father gave Julia a cold stare.
"Father how could I know all of this. Today was my wedding day. I don't know anything!" Julia was denying. "How can you think of me like that father? I'm also your daughter." Her cries worsened.
The light of the operating sign turned off and a doctor came out.
"Mayor Williams. Your wife is not in critical condition anymore. Luckily the bullet missed any vital organs. She lost blood but we have already transfused her." The doctor explained.
"When can we talk to her doctor?" Father asked. "The police are also waiting to question her. She is a suspect for my daughter's abduction."
"Father why are you saying that again!" Julia was beginning to get hysterical. "Mother is innocent. She can't do such a thing."
Brad held Julia's body. "Julia calm down. Don't embarrass yourself in front of others. Remember what surname your using right now." He said with a fierce tone. Julia shivered in fear and became silent.
She knew about Brad's violent tendencies. This was also one of the reasons why Brad was brought to a different country. It was because he was under mental treatment and his family didn't want this news to be spread and bring shame to their family name. Brad is the sole heir to their family.
"The patient will regain consciousness after a few hours. She will be brought to her private room now and you can wait for her to wake up there." The doctor explained.

After a few hours Victoria opened her eyes. She saw the fluorescent lights over head. She looked around and saw an IV drop hanging by her side which is connected to her wrists.
She moved a little and felt pain in her abdominal area. Then she remembered what happened.
'That bitch got me.' She thought to herself. 'How long was I out?'
When she moved her right hand she felt a cold metal object encircling it. When she looked she saw hand cuffs where worn in her hand and was attached to the bed. She tugged it and the rattle of the metal can be heard.
"You're awake." A man's voice was heard.
Victoria scanned the room to find where the voice was coming from. Then in the far corner she saw Julian seating on a chair giving her a cold stare. She felt goosebumps.
Julian walked towards her bed and stood right beside.
"Why? Tell me why did you do this?" Julian's tone was flat.
Victoria didn't answer and averted her gaze.
"Tell me why!" Julian shouted in anger. Still Victoria kept silent.
"So you won't talk?" Julian said. "I can't help you Victoria. You have crossed the line. You tried to kill my baby girl, you tried to take her away from me."
Victoria looked at Julian with rage. "You can only see her. How about us, huh? How about me and Julia?!" She shouted. "I am your legal wife but you never loved me. I have done everything to earn back the love that I lost from you. All this years I have become a good wife. But when your little 'baby girl' came back to your life you have cast us aside."
Julian looked at Victoria with indifference. "After you left me for another man my love for you was gone. I just married you so Julia will grow up not a bastard daughter but a legal one."
"I only loved Roselyn. I really regretted sleeping with you that night. If I just controlled my lust back then, she will be alive now and we would have been a happy family."
Hurt was etched in Victoria's face. She knew that she can't get out of this problem. She can only hope that Adrian would find a way to let her escape. Of course if she goes down, Adrian will go down with her.

"They will give you one don't worry." Julian was about to open the door.

"She is not under me anymore. She is a married woman and under her husband's name now." Julian said. "But don't worry. She is still my daughter. I won't let any harm come to her, I promise." Then he exited the room.

At night a male nurse wearing a surgical mask was walking in the hallway towards Victoria's room. Two policemen were standing guard in front of the door.
"Stop." One of the policeman said while the other inspected the medicine the nurse was holding in the tray.
"Okay, go in." The policeman let the nurse enter.
Inside Victoria was sleeping. Only the beeping of the machines can be heard.
The nurse got a vial from the tray and inserted the syringe in. He then pulled it out after getting some amount of the medicine transferred to syringe and inserted it to the IV drops. The medicine has flowed in the IV and it will slowly enter the IV tubes.
The nurse bended down near Victoria's ear and whispered. "It looks like this is the end for you Victoria. I have no use for you now that you have blown off your cover. I can't let you take me down with you. I still have plans."
The voice of the nurse was Adrian's. "Hmm Queenie you are really something. To think you can take down Victoria. It looks like I have to set my eyes on you for a while." Under the mask was an evil smirk.
