Synopsis by /u/NaoSouONight:

The story follows Ian Page, archmage and the first man to break through the 6th class, then through the 7th and become the most powerful mage, a 8th class mage.

After a lifetime of war and killing, the continent was finally unified thanks to his efforts. Now, old, his wish is to live the rest of his life in peace and try to find salvation for all the blood he spilled. However, his old friend, maddened by paranoia, couldn’t tolerate someone so powerful, so he betrayed Ian and killed him.

In his last breath, he casted a time magic that allowed him to travel back to when he was a young boy. With all the knowledge he previously had, he decided to do things better so he could end with less regrets.

btw for anyone who tries to read this, after chapter 61 a new translator started doing it and the broke all the chapters after 61 up into 4 parts each but this site only has the first 1/4 of each chapter. That’s why there’s a lot of random skipping of the story lol

Why did the transitions between chapters become such sh*t after around chapter 60? Does it have to do with that TL note at the beginning of chapter 60? Either way, I don’t care because doesn’t change the fact that it’s sh*t. It’s like “Blah blah blah, what do you say about that?” “Well I have to say blah blah blah” *next chapter* “Ok you sir are dyin— Holy sh*t people we need a shield he’s going to explode” *next chapter* “Ok let’s brew a potion and forget everything that happened in the past 10 chapters”.  seriously what is up with this sh*t transition, it’s like the author forgot what happened last chapter and just started an entirely new ark every chapter. It’s damn confusing and it’s like what happens when a novel gets turned into a comic: it skips loads of sh*t and makes you think “wait, wasn’t something like *thing that SHOULD’VE been happened* supposed to happen before this happened?” Well, needless to say, I’m not looking forward to future chapters and am dropping this. Just making this comment so you know you’re not the only one thinking this.

This light novel is like a really, really bad version of Tales of Demons and Gods. The premise is interesting but the writing is painfully bad. I would not be surprised to find out that it was written by a middle-schooler, and I doubt that these problems are an issue with translation. The story doesn’t flow especially well, the protagonist is a bit too over-the-top even considering the fact that he’s supposed to be a super genius, the personalities of all the characters are too one-dimensional, and the naming of people and places is lazy. All that being said, if this was written by someone 14 or younger, it’s a decent effort and I hope you keep writing and improving; and I suggest that you read Tales of Demons and Gods for an example of what this could be.
