4th day, the month of Sephri, the year 1661.

It's been a month since I've got my license and now my potions no longer being sold under Fiona's name but my own, of course that also meant my cut from each purchase rise but I also have to pay rent to sell my merchandise in her store or for using her lab.

Other than the potions I used in the dungeon I've also learned more recipes, mostly for combat based potions however.

As an alchemist I don't have many offensive skills as most that I will learn would be support passives for my job. I could of course learn other job skills like some that I already have but due to incompatibility with my job, the effect won't be as desired as when used by their respective job.

For example, I can create the taunt skill Lucas used. After using it Lucas would be subjected to a 3 second stun with the warrior based class but for me, due to job incompatibility I will be subjected to 10 seconds stun.

The same principle also applied for battle arts, although it doesn't have class compatibility it have weapon compatibility. For example, the skill sword dance obviously a sword battle art. You can use it with your fist or even axes but it will have stamina cost and damage penalties.

Anyway back to topic, the recipes I've learned are icy touch, rust, and breath of lunacy.

Icy touch as the name suggest, would freeze anything caught up in the blast radius instantaneously while it would also continue to freeze up an object it touches even if it spread over the blast radius.

But of course such convenient tool would have a weakness, by circulating fire type mana through ones mana nodes they can stop or even melt the ice made by icy touch.

What are mana nodes and how to circulate different type of Mana you ask? I will get to that later. Next up, rust.

This one is a coating type potion, it would give the coated weapon temporary ability to corrode away your enemy equipment with each contact but of course there are metals that doesn't rust and leathers are not metals so the disadvantage are pretty obvious but not overwhelming for those type of equipment are extremely pricy and hard to make.

Breath of lunacy is just a type of smokescreen, but instead for hiding it is used to make enemy fight one another. As long as one breath it's fumes and their Resistance (Res) status are below 500 they will permanently lose their rationality and attack anything insight. Of course there are antidote for it in case of misfire and I've learned it. The antidote are called calm mind, it will negate the effect of breath of lunacy and other mental based debuffs but it's main use are to give a temporary state of complete tranquility and focus, this potion are extremely popular among for magic based users.

I have also learned a few more battle arts but haven't found a chance to use them in real combat.

Anyway I said I'll explain about mana nodes and mana circulation right? So here it is.

Mana nodes are the entrance and exit points of mana for the mana path. If one Mana nodes are blocked, it could either organ failure due to lack of mana or mana poisoning due to excess mana having no way to be discharged out of the body.

Now let's move on to Mana circulation, the mana first being absorb from outside through the mana nodes at almost every pores a person have or by breathing. The mana then move into a person mana lobe just below their heart and be purified before the mana will be distributed to the lungs, brain, kidney, and other organ in a clockwise current before being discharged through pores and breathing.

All that mana at this point are all in a pure or neutral state, the property of these mana can be change within one mana lobe by swirling them inside while mixing them with ones affinity.

This is easier said than done however, for just like air, you can feel it but you can see it you can inhale it then exhale it. But the affinity which are created within your mana lobe are like the different substance within air. You can feel there are air around you but other than the oxygen you breath can you really tell that there are hydrogen or helium within it?

Well maybe you can with training and experience but then here where it differ, to change the mana property being circulated within you, you have to swirl the oxygen inside your mana lobe and mix it with the hard to detect hydrogen then convert it into pure hydrogen.

You can imagine a neutral element being mix with acid or base to convert it's property in chemistry for simplicity.

Now after converting it, you have to maintain that mix so it doesn't separate once it left the mana lobe to circulate through the mana path.

So far the only ones I've managed to circulate are fire and water element while the others only reach a little after leaving the mana lobe.

Well enough about the theories, let's talk about the current happenings.

After out little fun time, Val went to pay a "visit" to her schoolmate and have fun with her.

Of course, the afterwards are taken care off. She left many clue leading to necromancy and only use necromantic natured torture before raising that friend as a zombie.

Why necromancy you ask? Well that's because although dark magic aren't a problem, necromancy are still considered immoral and forbidden by law.

During the time we spent here, alchemy aren't the only thing I do. I have a night life myself you know. But of course it is nothing as boring as visiting red light district or drinking at a bar. What we do are visiting various underground organization or kidnapping some civilian to farm rewrite points. You can't expect me to just hunt monster for it when these fat animals gives more right?

This is also why Fiona got mad that time when I came back late. Due to many missing cases as well as murder and signs of necromantic cult, the town's guard are much more tense for they haven't found the culprit and also the increasing pressure from the citizens.

Are the cult real you ask? The answer is yes, they are real but they are pretty much harmless as they only take corpses of already dead slum dweller or buy the body of deceased family members. How do they get their funds? No idea.

What am I doing right now? Supposedly it is Delivery. Currently I am being task to deliver some potions to a friend of Fiona in the adventurers guild.

The client are a human woman in a party of 3. She is a swordswoman and her party member are a monk and a ranger. The procedure supposed to be greetings and delivery of packages before returning to base, but somehow here I am sitting beside them hearing their sob story about how their latest job was a complete disaster with d*ck clients.

Supposedly they are being asked to down a couple mutated rats with a reward of two silver which is pretty reasonable. But after they arrive said rats turn out to be a couple of mutated wolfs, the normal adventure procedure would be reporting back to the guild before receiving further instructions, which they follow and was ordered to proceed with the extermination as the client agree to pay the additional fee.

But in the end, after killing the targets, the clients refuse to pay said fees with the reason they didn't kill the request target which are rats. This of course upset the team but the materials from the mutated wolfs would be able to cover the losses and more but when they were about to take the spoil, the town guards stop them with the reason they don't have hunting permits. which somehow, cost cost 500 gold. Of course they refuse but then they are charged with illegal hunting and they had to fork out 15 silver per head. It was a total scam and even after reporting their grievance to the guild, the client then called by the guild and engaged in heated argument with the guild for there are many evidence against the client.

In the end the guild side won and the client had to pay 45 silver to each member of the group as was as the additional fee and give back the fines that the party pay due to the client lack of information.

That was three days ago, and the client still find many excuses to evade paying the agreed payment and it seems they aren't the only victim of this town.

Seeing as the all female party stop talking and start drunk sobbing, I quickly bid farewell and bolt out of the guild, leaving them to pick up whoever else unlucky enough to be their victim.

That does piqued my interest, a town full of jerks that seem to scam people. Maybe that could be a new farming area while I let this town cool off.
