Riding along his teachers Amon was seated on his teacher Tai Zi's horse meditating. Tai Zi had suggested that Amon should ride with him on one horse so that there would be enough mounts for other people too. Amon didn't mind that as he could focus on his cultivation without adjusting his mount's direction.

Before begging his 'meditation' on the horse's back, Tai Zi said that Amon had received 35 merit points. This was the standard merit points that would be given to disciples in this kind of one-sided battle. Of course, if you slew the chief of the barbarian bandits you would gain more merit points but it wouldn't be that much.

Amon knew that there would be more fierce raids in which the standard merit points would be higher than the lowest 35 points. This was why he decided to participate in them and to do that, he needed to increase his power in terms of magic stages and skills.

This increase in power would be possible to achieve only by trading the pills he had for merit points which he would then spend on goods which would be vital for the power increase he wanted.

Behind the group, only a black smoke could be seen rising in the perfectly clear sky as the camp was being raised to the ground by the fires raging there.

The journey back was meant to be longer than the one which took them six hours to arrive. Some disciples were injured and tired. Not many had the chance to sit and cultivate like Amon.

Opening his eyes after four hours of travelling, Amon analysed the people he fought beside in the barbarian bandit camp. Most of them were actually rookies like him.

"Do you have any water, teacher?" asked Amon as he looked at Tai Zi.

"I have something better Amon, but I don't know whether you'd like it," replied Tai Zi as he cheekily. smiled and took out a gourd which was tied to the horse backpack.

"I will try it," said Amon as he took the gourd in his hand. He was too thirsty to care what was inside the gourd but he knew that it wouldn't be something nasty as Tai Zi often drank from it, plus he was his teacher.

Tai Zi looked with expectation when Amon started drinking from the gourd. He expected Amon to choke or spit it out, and this expectation made him smile in a cheeky way.

Surprisingly for him, Amon actually didn't do any of these.

Amon had a smirk on his face as he drank from this good wine. Amon himself didn't expect to feel good when drinking wine, but he actually liked this very much. Maybe it was the saying 'the best ingredient for a tasty food was hunger' applied to drinks when it comes thirstiness, but it wasn't that likely for Amon.

"Hey, brat, enough of that! This is my precious bloodberry wine!" urged Tai Zi as he looked at the gourd with a worried expression.

"I was just thirsty teacher. Why would you bring wine instead of water though?" asked Amon as he passed the gourd back with one hand while cleaning his reddened lips with the other.

Taking the gourd away from Amon's hands Tai Zi started explaining.

"There are quite a few reasons for that. I like wine and if I can't control my fiery temper sometimes it helps a lot. You will understand that soon as you're a fire magician yourself. We have that heated and explosive temper.

We can't deny that our women are also very hot though. Sadly I'm a married man and not a lucky boy like you who is about to enter in his early prime. I want you to improve and defeat Thomas after five days. If you manage to do that, I will include you in a competition with our natural enemy you could say."

Pondering what his teacher told him, Amon, didn't think that defeating Thomas would be a big feat. By practising with the [Everburn Flame Mantra] his body got a bit stronger even though bit by bit the effect was meant to decrease with his cultivation increasing. However, for now, this strength increase was enough to mete out Thomas if he practised his spear techniques along with his breathing method.

-----

Time passed and soon they arrived back in the sect. Amon directly headed towards his residence and fell asleep in the bath.

Waking up during the night, Amon stood up and headed towards his bed. Just as he was about to lay on it he thought about the prototype he had found in the barbarian bandit chief's tent.

Taking the page from his back, Amon started to inspect it but sadly found nothing special on it. The live drawing seemed to be gone, so be placed the page on the table which was shined upon by the moonlight. He had decided to inspect it again tomorrow.

Just as he was about to cover himself he saw that the page was glowing. This time It was glowing in a black colour and so was the moving drawing.

Another new feature was that instead of [Dance of Gan Jiang] it was [Dance of Mo Ye] now, whose movements seemed to be also different.

'I was such an idiot! The first drawing was revealed when the page was shined upon by the sunshine, it would be logical that there would be something special when moonlight shone on it!

'So it is something like a prototype art, [Dance of Gan Jiang and Mo Ye]... sadly it seems to be a sword art. I will try it but if it reaps no benefits I will have to give it up.' decided Amon as he hid the paper in an empty vase and headed back to bed.

It was a tiring journey that he had today. One short battle and the rest was mental stress. This wasn't Amon's first fight, but it definitely was his first battle and he would always remember it.
