Chapter 126        Death Assault

After Nieto was forced to hide behind a building on the street, there was a barricade made from abandoned vehicles around fifty meters away from them. Fifty of Nieto’s mates trembled in fear; they were all silent and appeared terrified.

“Can anyone tell me which gun should I use for this magazine? Please tell me, how do I use it?” Nieto nervously asked the people around him but no one answered.

The bearded man, Guzman slowly walked past Nieto. Nieto shut up and he cursed Guzman in his mind. Looking at Guzman’s back, he had an impulse to shoot him and run. In fact, many people there were thinking about the same thing.

Bang….!

Once again, Nieto felt warm blood on his face. One of his mates moved his hands like he was going to raise his weapon. However, immediately, he was shot to death. Nieto cried out loud as he was frightened and terrified. As they started to cry, Guzman returned and stood in front of him.

“That guy was going to backstab me, right? But, he failed.” Guzman smiled like a devil. The sniper, Koval, who was behind him, was putting back his pistol after he fired.

“Sir, I don’t know. I swear I had no idea what he was gonna do.”

The hatred in Nieto’s mind instantly disappeared. It was replaced with fear. He had the uncontrollable feeling to urinate, his body trembled with fear, and he even felt like he was floating. Meanwhile, the rifle was snatched by the other people and he regretted that he did not make the move earlier.

“Kid, stay awake. Otherwise, you’ll never get up again.” Guzman smiled evilly and pat Nieto’s shoulder as he saw that Nieto was frightened.

A chill ran down his spine. Nieto immediately straightened his back and spoke with a stiff tone, “No, I won’t let you down.”

“Great!” Guzman pulled out a cigarette from his pocket and put it into Nieto’s mouth. He lit the cigarette for him, “Take a puff, you’ll feel better.”

It was marijuana. Zetas sold all sorts of drugs in the United States to be rich; they never ran of out marijuana. Before Nieto came to the United States, his father warned him not to get involved in drugs. However, he could only forget his father’s word at the moment. He smoked the marijuana and cried at the same time.

Fifty of them were smoking marijuana. Even the mouth of the corpse on the ground was stuffed with it. After Guzman gave them the marijuana, he spoke out loudly, “Just try your best. Any action to resist, escape, or slack around will be punished.

“As long as you get through the fifty meter street, you can rest. There will be drinks and women for you to enjoy. Maybe there will be another team to take over you after that. Now, quickly finish your cigarette and pray to Our Lady.”

Nieto felt much better after the marijuana. He gained power, confidence, and he could move freely. Guzman’s word worked like a charm: he was not afraid anymore.

“Alright, let’s go! Go! Go! I’ll cover you from the back. Victory is waiting for us once you make it across the street,” Guzman thought that the teaching was enough. He shouted and forced them out onto the street.

Nieto was holding his magazine very tightly. He was kicked by Guzman and started to run. He thought, It’s only fifty meters, I don’t even need thirty seconds. We can rest after that, it shouldn’t be that hard.

However, it was only five seconds after they were out when Nieto heard gunshots from behind the barricade that was opposite them. Following that, a man in front of him fell to the ground. The man was holding a magazine too and he was wearing shabby clothes. As the man was hit by the bullet, his body tilted backward and both his arms swung. A big, bloody bullet hole appeared on his back. The body fell to the ground in the next second.

Nieto instantly shivered and his brain was immediately cleared. Meanwhile, he realized that fifty people were running across the street without anything to cover them. Facing the bullet rain, his mates around him were dying very quickly.

“Go, go, go, don’t stop! You’ll die if you stop,” Guzman grabbed a loudspeaker out of nowhere. He was hiding behind a building and forcing them out of the street. His partner, Koval, was standing on the top of a nearby building and he looked at the rushing crowd.

They were like zombies who lost their minds after taking the marijuana. They came out of the street and ran towards the barricade one after the other. There were people screaming and running everywhere; there were people dodging and looking for cover; there were people who were afraid of dying and simply rolled on the ground.

In the meantime, David Lawrence was shooting accurately and rapidly with his M16A2 from fifty meters away. There were around twenty search team members with him; they were shooting the people across them like it was a practice round. The people who were rushing in were killed easily.

“Are they crazy? I’ve killed at least four of them,” a search team member emptied a magazine. As he reloaded, he slightly raised his head as he wanted to see what was going on out there. All of a sudden, a bullet came across and blood burst out from his head. Half of his brain was gone.

The other search team members behind the barricade quickly lowered their heads after the sudden death of their teammate. David Lawrence quickly took a glance and shouted, “Hide properly, don’t simply poke your head out. Continue shooting. Don’t stop, we can’t stop!”

There was something Lawrence didn’t say - There are snipers across us. It’s gonna be tough.

After the barrier troop got evicted, more and more people from Mexico came out to the street. They appeared extremely crazy and impulsive as they were drugged. They were not even fighting, they were just running mindlessly and they charged into the bullet rain.

Guzman, who stood across them was yelling, “Don’t stop!”. He waved his pistol and drove fifty of them out into the street. Behind Guzman, another combat team with a hundred men was also driven out. The moment they slowed down, the cruel barrier troops shot them immediately.

The street was covered with corpses almost instantly. However, there were more and more people coming out. They blocked the entire street. A spray of bullets would kill two or three of them immediately. However, once two or three of them were down, there would be another four or five coming from behind.

Very soon, the corpses on the ground became obstructions. The people who were rushing stumbled. Unfortunately, they still continued to run. They were shooting randomly as they ran. More and more people were dead and they got closer and closer to the barricade. After they ran fifty meters, the expandable team finally arrived in front of David Lawrence.

Six of the search team members were sacrificed. Two of them were shot by random bullets and the rest were sniped by the sniper. As the crazy people of Mexico climbed the barricade, David quickly pulled his pistol out and shot seven of them. However, they were coming non-stop. The members of the search team did not even have time to reload as the enemies got too close. The Mexicans were unstoppable.

“Fall back, fall back!” David Lawrence quickly led the search team to the next street and went into a building. At the same time, he called Zhou Qingfeng in a hurry, “Victor, we’ve lost the frontline barricade. The crazy Zetas didn’t give a damn and decided to just rush towards us. We’ve withdrawn to a building and we’ll try our best to continue stopping them, but you people need to come back as soon as possible!”
